I suspect we will now be given a couple of weeks off, probably played today because we were already there and didn’t fancy another long journey.

Barton you’re a hard man to please. A player scores the goal that gives you 5 extra points in the PL and all you can say about him is:-
“ROWE–4–Did not really notice him playing, just went missing throughout.”
    Yellow card for you!!

5 more and Russ out with covid.
That team we are putting out is really bare bones.
Watson, Cordner, Bedeau, Gillead & Eisa presumably the ones.
It’s going to be a rough afternoon.

Could be those but we only had 5 subs. Where were Olomola, Brown, Butroid & Dales?

He’s just the latest in a fairly long line WG.
Lewis, Vose, Margetts, Horsfield and Beestin & Mooney might end up on there as well.

Normal for loanees with long term injuries to go back to their parent club for treatment isn’t it? I think Slater did last year.

With Spence suspended, Vincent crocked and a fit, experienced CM still awaited then if Beestin doesn’t start you have to ask why he was signed.

I’d start Howard & Brown and hope Brown can go 60 mins. Howard should last the game as most of the action will be at the other end won’t it?

Hope everyone is happy now. Will he be a Swanny or Cox appointment,I guess time will tell.

Bit of a clue here, let’s hope ‘it’s the future Jerry’:-
“First team manager Neil Cox added: “Mark’s an experienced goalkeeper that we’ve tried to get a couple of times when I’ve been at other clubs”

I’m delighted and WG will be over the moon that his advice is being heeded.

Just a theoretical question. Do property developers/racehorse owners automatically know anything about football?

Interesting that PS has advisors when buying horses and allows a qualified trainer to train them and a qualified jockey to ride them. He is successful using this system, would it work with football?

    From Russ’s post match interview:-

“their back three was splitting and causing our front two massive problems”

I don’t quite undestand this. Firstly shouldn’t it be our front two causing their back three problems? Secondly if their back three are ‘splitting’ shouldn’t that create space for our front two to exploit? If a teams CBs are causing us problems then we really are in trouble.

Yes, you’d expect Hornshaw & O’Malley to support Gillead & Eisa in attack. More likely is that Gillead & Eisa will be helping them to defend.

Agree with MKI, little chance that we’ll be trying to win IMO. If we score with every shot we have it still won’t be enough.

“Cassidy, in this case we have no choice”
I’m not disputing that WG,as you say, it’s our only option. What I’m advocating is being careful in our choice. For instance you suggest:-
“Calum Woods at RB. Woods played 12 games last season in lg 1 with two assists so he must still have something to offer.”
Now I don’t know why he only played 12 games but could he be another Clarke?
That’s the cause of my concern, we’ve a habit of paying players for little return (e.g. Hammill) we can do without any more wage thieves.

Do these players ‘still have the legs’?
That is something few of us can know for sure.

Quite right les, can we risk another James Perch? (or Ian Ormondroyd for those with a longer memory)

Hope he’s fit enough for early action, should have been done 3 months ago. I presume the manager knows who he is.

That’s a big disappointment to me also WG. He’s done the lot as a player with years of experience but seems to be ineffective as an assistant. Does he fear for his job if he dares to interfere, can he not offer help and advice or is he just being ignored? Is he another with strings attached or a hand up his back?

“Plenty of players out there without a club, no excuse. I wouldn’t mind Conrad Logan, Woods, Junior brown and Wordsworth here.”

WG has highlighted what’s needed, no surprises as it’s been obvious to fans for some time and his suggestions might very well be the best available. Free agents are now our only option until January, my concern is why,at this point in the season, are these players still without a club. We could be looking at the bottom of a very deep barrel.

Look, I’ve been wrong a few times (Mrs CT will say it’s much more than that) but I can’t remember being as spectacularly wrong as I was about our players. In common with most others I had no idea as to the footballing ability of our new signings. What I thought I knew was that we had young footballers keen to forge a career in the game, prove they were up to league standard, even higher than league 2 in some cases. What I have seen is that few of them have that ability and even fewer have the desire. I hope call centre wages are not too far below what they’re earning now, the hours will be longer certainly.

Arguably the best we can field for that formation, just hope Gillead and Hippolyte are allowed into the opponents half. 6 attacking players gives some hope for positive intent, fingers crossed.

Cox says there are currently no other loan offers for their fringe players including winger Andy Dales, whose name has been circulated to other clubs. #uti #Iron

Hope you’re right about Trump, do you think he might consider buying PS out when he loses? We’re unlikely to make any profit so he won’t have to worry about paying tax which should appeal to him.
