Assuming sufficient levels of fitness how about:-
Howard
Rowe Onariase Bedeau Brown
Spence Taylor
Gillead McAtee Hallam
KVVIt all sounded a bit amateurish to me.
It’s Radio Hullberside, why would you expect anything else?
I don’t think playing yet another player out of position is the answer.
Better than signing another player or sacking another manager which seem to be the other options being suggested?
Also, it gets him out of centre back where he’s not been great. Sometimes a player’s given position is not his best position. So Watson up front then?
I don’t think playing yet another player out of position is the answer.
” it is up to the Chairman to appoint someone that can do the job, he does not do this.”
Depends on what you think ‘the job’ is barton. If the job is to do as you’re told and do your best with the players you’re given then he seems to be getting it right.
Has there ever been a more pointless match?
Result might be meaningless but being able to give match time to players that need it is a great opportunity for us to prepare for Saturday. Another steady 30-40 minutes for KVV could set him up for a start against Oldham for instance.
No judgement for today. Was poor but reasonably no one could expect anything else.
Pointless game today and pointless game Tuesday. Neither game matters.
Get as many minutes as possible safely into the players that need them and start again from Saturday.Agree almost 100% (Yesterdays game was worth £20K so it mattered a bit)
Still think our “best” eleven played in a “proper” formation will be good enough to get us through this if we can get them all on the pitch together on a regular basis.Crikey!!! Not like WG to misunderstand a post.
Thanks for clarifying SST.Sacking half a dozen players would make more sense.
Do we have a nominated penalty taker on the off chance that we get one? Can’t remember having one since Josh Morris left!
Thanks I-a. Worked for Blair, will it work for us?
Not in danger at the minute IMO. He’s been dealt a sh1t hand but must have known that before he accepted the job. Given a box of 30 Lego bricks, all from different sets, and told to make something that resembles a football team from the oddments.
Who sang “Things Can Only Get Better”? Let’s hope they were right. No need for the doc. Just have another dose of what you’ve already taken!
Well Barks, Shrimpton and Jessop are back and probably fitter than the rest.
You’re expecting the fans to be kept informed? That would need a change of heart!!
As a ‘keeper he’ll still be approaching his peak though won’t he?
” We don’t need more players we just needed the right players picked by the right type of person in the first place.”
Spot on, out of the 30+ we have there are probably 7 or 8 that won’t figure in the match day squad unless we’re devastated by injury or Covid. Also some of those that make the squad will just be there to make up the numbers with little hope of getting on the pitch. A harsh assessment? Maybe but a genuine opinion nonetheless.
I think that’s probably right. Hard to see any signings with all the uncertainty, we have 30+ players and signing any more who might never get on the pitch looks unlikely IMO.
I’d guess it’s Sunday as that will be after the 14 day quarantine period ends, as for 12.00…. no idea.
But shorter, if we want somebody for KVV, McAtee etc to play off then it’s not Olomola.
Sent off before HT if memory serves and never played for us again. Mistertonmick will remember better than me.
A bit naughty perhaps, after all I find keepers do need a few games to show their best form but equally I can’t think of many keepers who’ve had a worse debut for the Iron.
Chris Marples?
Thanks.
Naughty!!
If we were waiting for an answer on Friday and the player/agent still hasn’t decided then I’d make up their mind for them.
Has Saturdays performance changed our thinking about what we need?“Beestin, Green and Rowe would never have got a chance,we certainly wouldn’t have found out that Taylor and Beestin are our best CM’s.”
The fans wouldn’t WG, that’s true. But the managers and coaches should be able to spot that during the bits we don’t see. Makes you wonder if, for some reason, the best players are not necessarily picked?
Sorry if I seem a bit simple but why does it cost £100 to test a footballer?
Yes.
More of the eleven looked bothered?
” Don’t know why these players don’t understand that playing well and showing you are a good player is the route to get a good move.”
Absolutely right Heath, McAtee came to the attention of bigger clubs by showing ability and committment. Being a mardy-arsed part timer will only take him in one direction, shouldn’t take a managerial genius to get that message across.
Here’s what I learned, admittedly based on a small sample.
1. Rowe is a better defender than Hornshaw.
2. Beestin is better than Vincent, and he’s our player.
3. Onariase is a top signing and more captain material then Gillead.
4. We need Brown fit asap.
5. Hippolyte should never be selected before a fit Eisa and probably not in front of Dales or Green.
6. Jarvis is not a ‘natural’ finisher.
7. We need McAtee match fit and interested. -
