Although not liked when he was here,he will score tomorrow but how many ?
,January 8, 2021 at 6:51 pm #200475Found it remarkable people didn’t like him. He linked up play well with smart touches and was a composed finisher. Not surprised to see him bagging for Bradford
January 8, 2021 at 7:29 pm #200479Couldn’t question is effort, but like others didn’t score enough, probably one of higher earners at the club and had to be let go.Probably will score but hopefully we will score more just like when Hayes scored for Barnsley, didn’t show to much respect that night.
January 8, 2021 at 7:50 pm #200482Never let me down. Chased and harried for everything much like Kyle Wootton did. Probably wages were a problem but look what we ended up with,
January 8, 2021 at 7:55 pm #200483Another good player not played to his strengths; Ended up playing far too deep for us. One of the only players to come out with any credit during the relegation season and 6 in 12 for Bradford this season too.
It’s a shame there’s no supporters as I’m sure bartonscorpion was keen to see him back at GP.
January 8, 2021 at 10:13 pm #200501Decent player – certainly no effort made to play to his strengths.
January 8, 2021 at 11:18 pm #200504Would much rather have him than Loft, Turan, Jarvis and Mooney combined.
January 9, 2021 at 12:03 am #200509Novak ran around like a headless chichen most of the time that he was with Scunny, although after saying that, he was an improvement on what we presently have in the team.
You will probably be right when you say that he will score, forwards are noy finding it difficult when we have Howard in goal, all Novak needs to do is stand in the centre of our goal area, and he will never get any problem with our keeper stopping his tap in’s, he just needs to stand about five feet from our goal line and help himself.
SCUNNY 0 BRADFORD 2

What strengths Les??? I always put his strengths down to running after back passes to the other teams keeper.

Nice bit of baton changing there. You should be in the Olympic 4 x 200m relay team.
January 9, 2021 at 8:34 am #200512A goal-scorer, BS – and a pretty intelligent forward when not in crazy formations.
Even played as he was for us – he was around one in four.
Since being played properly at Bradford eight in eighteen. The amount of goal-scorers this club has had in the last five years or so who have been asked to play ‘other roles’ makes me dizzy.
Whatever happened to: Lyle Taylor, Matt Godden, Paddy Madden, Kyle Wootton, I wonder? All those failed strikers. (I’ll bet that they are probably notching one in six in pub football somewhere.)
A string of past managers are to blame. One-up-front and defensive formations. SUFC must be gaining a great reputation for ruining strikers. Does anyone believe that we have truly got the best out of KVV?
January 9, 2021 at 9:11 am #200514Have we forgot Levi will probably be playing?.
January 9, 2021 at 9:50 am #200516What les said. (Apart from the pub football bit!)
January 9, 2021 at 10:03 am #200518Matt godden and Lyle Taylor both play in the championship so hardly pub football mate
January 9, 2021 at 10:10 am #200520Novak along with madden put so much work in all over the pitch that their main perpose was all but forgotten! I have listened to a few podcasts by ex notts forest players who all said cloughie would go mad if a striker didn’t just concentrate on the job in hand.
One even got transfered for do fancy flick that lead to a goal scored against forest, not saying we should transfer people for for such things just that a striker is a striker not a extra midfielder or defender.January 9, 2021 at 10:41 am #200523After the same amount of games last year Novacs goals earned us 6 points,Loft this year his goals have earned 7 and in fewer starts and in a poorer team, Both stats poor and not good enough, maybe that’s why we let Novacs go.

This is a good point.
Strikers are too often becoming labelled as the first line of defence and too often lambasted for not continually pressing. Don’t get me wrong, if a centre back is facing his own goal then get the strikers on him forcing a mistake, but primarily I want them to be looking openings and getting into positions where they are threat.Novak was a decent finisher at this level but too often he was getting his first touches 40-50 yards from goal. For me that’s a coaching issue and something we’ve seen in a few of our strikers in recent years.
January 9, 2021 at 11:17 am #200527Would much rather have him than Loft, Turan, Jarvis and Mooney combined.
Would love to know what their wages total compared to what Novak was on!
Savings, what savings?
January 9, 2021 at 12:32 pm #200531Game off, we can do it all again sometime.
January 9, 2021 at 2:21 pm #200540Tongue firmly in cheek, BI66.
January 9, 2021 at 4:22 pm #200542Sorry mate! With all the bad news around seems I have lost my grip on a tongue in cheek comment.
