I haven’t seen the youngsters as you obviously have Sanfran so I’m basing the following purely on our record of producing league players from their ranks. Butroid surely has had his chance and O’Malley certainly looks the part. However with our recent history it would be something of a surprise if more than one of the other seven made the grade.
“that should be something the club can solve easily at little or no cost to them but a significant difference to you.”
There are a number of issues that could apply to. Who knows maybe the ground closure will have given the opportunity for action. Maybe some brand new markings in the car park and stewards to enforce them – could be your Christmas present from the club barton?
It would be good to know who wants to be here, Eisa and McAtee clearly aren’t bothered.
Harsh on Spence I think and possibly Hallam who hasn’t been given much opportunity since his injury and has potential IMO.
I’d certainly be happy to shift 10 – but how?????December 28, 2020 at 10:21 am in reply to: What happened to the team that played at harrogate. #199811Consistency. We have too many players who have one good game in 4 or 5, that’s why they’re NL standard. Enough of them had that good game at the same time, could be due again soon as nobody has had a decent game recently.
Very interesting to see the almost total lack of interest from the other players when McAtee scored to give us a chance of getting something from the game. Sums up their attitude and level of enthusiasm for Scunthorpe United that some of them clearly have.
Lucky we had that week to work on tactics, defensive issues and set plays otherwise it could have been really embarrassing.
Great turn of speed with his magic sponge and recycled ball bladder of water. Not sure how quick he’d be with all the kit they carry now!
RIP.If we’ve got The Messiah and GODders then surely a miracle can’t be far off!
Just another 7 or 8 to shift to free up space/money for the 2 or 3 we need in.
They could do worse.
They could end up with a property developer who thinks he knows everything.Could be just what they need if they’re looking to build a new stadium?
More like very dark glasses! This is a Holloway quote from the Telegraph:-
“We got the result, and it was a good performance as well, so double delight from a really desperate situation,” Holloway said.
Were we watching the same game? If that’s the kind of “good” performance he’s hoping for then they’re in trouble, they don’t play us every week.
That must make Loft worth £5 million, do they want him instead?
I think that’s how it works, maybe why sacked managers don’t rush to get another job until their paid-up contract is running out.
He’s got to get back on the pitch first!
“What’s your bets godders has some connection to the Swann’s or rodders.”
Should it be AskRodders do you think?
“The Tree” how could I? I knew I’d miss a few but that’s a bad miss, sorry.
You have to be careful with these experienced/old players. Remember Craig Davies, Tommy Johnson, Geoff Horsfield, Ian Ormondroyd et al. More recently James Perch didn’t have many fans on here.
Beagrie might be the only exception. There’s a bloke with Fishy connections looking to invest in a football club. Would you like him?
I hardly think what we saw on Saturday could be classed as “elite sport”
The bar must be set very low, I think I could be an elite golfer.Might be interesting to know the names of the partners/directors?
He’s scored a couple of goals that very few Iron strikers would have netted. Agree with les & DSGM that he has potential and his shortcomings can be overcome.
A good example of most of our players – can be good but only 1 game in 4 or 5. All of them have had at least one good game which gives you hope, then just when you get optimistic – THIS!!
Pointless even attempting to have a sensible discussion, quite frankly.
Well it’s pointless having a discussion with you as you clearly don’t read other posts!
“It’s the same old, same old. Everyone who voted Brexit is a racist ……….”
Nobody said that, MKIron clarified the situation above in case anybody misunderstood. Regarding my earlier post do you deny:-
The value of the pound dropped due to Brexit
The haulage industry is in chaos due to Brexit
Just two examples, your examples of benefits are still awaited. It could be a coincidence but we don’t need to score 3 to win since Howard came. He has also played behind Rowe, Onarise, Bedeau and O’Malley – not a lot of league experience there. Seen little or no improvement in Watson for 3 seasons, will he get any better now? Certainly agree that GK coaching needs looking at. Howard a big improvement IMO.
The masses knew what they were voting for!! I don’t think so. They voted leave to stop immigration with no thought (or knowledge) of other possible consequences. Still to meet a leave voter who doesn’t give that as their prime reason. Plenty now moaning about the weak pound making their holidays more expensive (not this year obviously) and I doubt the haulage industry was expecting what they’re getting now.
“Final ball needs a bit of work but that’s the case for pretty much everyone at the minute.”
For some of them it needs A LOT of work!!
No chance of 10 out and 3 in then?
@Cassidystash Hard to argue that the team selected against Southend wasn’t the best available surely 🤣🤣
Have we made a new signing or am i missing something. I’m sure most of us would agree that the starting 11 at southend was the strongest available.
FAO Eandmee
Read my post again please.Butroid injured or 4th choice LB?
Hard to argue that the team selected against Southend wasn’t the best available surely. Could it be that a safety first attitude (first target – don’t lose) was to blame, but failing to hit the target didn’t help.
