    From the Club Twitter account:-

    “Scunthorpe United FC
    @SUFCOfficial
    · 5 Oct
🏟 Scunthorpe United can confirm a Shareholder Meeting will be held in the Sir Ian Botham Executive Lounge at the Sands Venue Stadium on Monday, 22nd November from 6pm until 8pm”
    #UTI #IRON

No other firm dates given, maybe if not enough indicated attendance the chairman didn’t fancy a 1 to 1.

So bloody change needed from top to bottom.I was there the atmosphere was worst I have encountered home or away and I go back along time. This situation just cannot carry on somebody change it and change it quickly

There is only one ‘somebody’ who can change anything and, as his apparent 10 year plan seems to be almost complete, that looks unlikely.

We’re rubbish. That’s football, deal with it.

What do you think are the reasons for that? Somebody suggested that supporters getting behind the team would make a difference but it didn’t seem to work did it?

We need someone who is intolerant to lackadaisical effort and who will gladly put juniors in when more senior players do not deliver.

Sadly les you have not highlighted the one vital quality any Iron manager must have. Yes sir.

Hey, look at the positives. We drew the second half.

Looks like UTI99 has changed his user name.

    “Stop being stupid”

Less likely than Cox playing attacking football?

It’s not their fault they don’t pay the mortgage/bills. They don’t have enough income to cover them.
Maybe they’ll just have to rack up a lot of credit card debt until a buyer is found.

Two questions in my last post and, as usual, you failed to answer. Here’s another. Whose fault is it then? It’s called living beyond your means, buying a house you can’t afford and prioritising luxuries over essentials. Sound familiar? How much were the architects fees for the new stadium, how much were consultations with constructors, how much to pay off managers, how much on fees and wages for players we hardly saw because successive managers didn’t want them. Not owning the ground leads me to ask – what exactly is there to attract a buyer?

If they don’t pay the mortgage the house will be repossessed. If they don’t pay utility bills then they’ll be left without power. How is this relevant? Surely you’re not suggesting your hero is not paying the players?

What are you hoping to achieve?
Who are you wanting Swann to sell the club to?
Two very important questions that you people seem to ignore greatly!!

This from the poster who disappears for days when asked any important question that challenges his blinkered views. Unbelievable.

I would ask the two of you, and other shareholders considering non-attendance, to think again.
We run the risk of ” well I gave shareholders the chance to express their views and they weren’t interested” Another opportunity to deflect blame on to another innocent target. I hold out little hope of any ultimate benefit to supporters as a result of the meeting but significant shareholder attendance followed by lack of any subsequent action correctly identifies where the responsibility lies.

Hurst has found us some real gems that could easily play league football. One in particular is Erico Sousa, plucked him from Darlington, he’s unplayable.

Yes we went to Darlington too. We got Tyrone O’Neil, did you get first pick?
Some of O’Neil’s performances have apparently led to the manager thinking he’s ‘unplayable’!

Why single out football fans? If a cinema continually plays poor films people will stop going, if a restaurant regularly serves low grade meals then people will stop going. They’re not being fickle they just don’t think they’re getting the quality they expect for what they’ve paid.

Why don’t you raid your piggy banks and buy Swanns shares?

Somewhat less likely than Cox sending a team out to play attacking football I guess. Anyway, shares in what, there’s nothing left is there?
We need someone to buy the Club, build a new ground, fund a team to challenge for Championship football and…. oh, hang on a minute, will there be another one about? No, maybe not.

Some substance to part of that, Mullen & Madden for example haven’t dropped to NL to further their careers.
Regarding McAtee, maybe he could be starring for us if properly managed.

However, apparently we can expect an announcement on ground developments in the next few weeks! It’s great to get an old favourite like that back!

I might be a cynical old b****** (OK I am) but what if the announcement is along the lines of:-
“Due to Covid and the lack of fans support the plans to develop the ground have been further postponed/completely shelved”

    Cox post match:-
” I can only apologise for the second half performance and the lack of passion shown. I’ll be in working them hard to try and get a result (at Rotherham) on Tuesday.”

Well done on ‘trying to get a result’ on Tuesday. Sadly we already know what that result will be. Still, as long as they train well on Monday I suppose that will be OK.

Mr Swann – please put the club up for sale. It appears to be the only thing which can save us.

Understandable sentiment les, what exactly is there to sell? Here’s a list of my estimate of our assets:-

Away so nailed on back 5 with Davis fit again, best we can hope for is 5-3-2 but likely 5-4-1.
    Watson
    Millen Davis Onariase Taft O’Malley
    Bunn Beestin Perry Thompson
    Jarvis
    1-0 down at HT (44mins) Jarvis/Taft off Loft/Scrimshaw on (85mins) Lose 3-0.

I remember a few years ago our saviour was to be NZ international Clayton Lewis. We were all (almost) overwhelmed by a signing that would transform our team and fortunes. How many saw him play?

To me it indicates that, as with supporters, there is little communication between those in overall authority and those being paid to do the basics of running a business. Two examples – PS will not answer emails/letters personally, nor will he wash the seats at GP. He is told both things are done and leaves it there even though supporters tell him differently.

But the manager must be allowed to back his own judgement surely – if it is his own! He obviously thinks that Shrimpton, Jessop, Wilson etc are not yet ready, the puzzle is why he thinks Wood & Hackney are. I can’t believe he’s seen a lot of Scrimshaw either, is it the chief scout that’s giving him these wonderful gifts?

” A couple of players who can lift the team, make things happen and most importantly, stay fit would make all the difference. OK, they may cost a few quid,”

IIRC somebody with knowledge of the EFL loan rules said that the outstanding loan meant we could only sign players on a free.
