There’ll be complaints for certain but I’d be amazed if ALL fans wouldn’t be happy with any sort of win.

Combination of much of the above.
Pugh has done enough to get the nod for me.
Onoriase is 100% fit, Davis isn’t.
    O’Malley/Thompson – toss a coin.
Kenyon (c) before Perry who again might not be 100%
Hallam might just sneak a start over O’Neill.

    Billson
    Pugh Onariase Taft O’Malley
    Bunn Beestin Kenyon Green
    Hallam Loft

Watson, Rowe, Davis, Thompson, Perry, Wilson, O’Neill

The responsibility for signings is a matter of opinion, mine is above. Regarding KVV did you miss the bit where he came back because Northampton failed to pay up. We have had signings in recent years that a succession of managers didn’t fancy, who was responsible for them?

Doubt if it was a managerial decision.

The big improvement for me has been the type of player recruited compared to last summer. It would appear (and, yes appearances can be deceptive) that the manager has had significant input into the selection and we’ve ended up with players far better suited to the job in hand. Agree we’re still short of a scorer and maybe one other.

But no sign of Jarvis or Hippo, loans out imminent? KDT self isolating for 9 months?

If the ‘savings’ go as low as buying half as much, lower quality grass seed then there are hard times ahead for certain.

If we don’t have anybody likely to score regularly, and at the moment it looks like we haven’t, then the managers tactical options could be very limited.

They must have a shocking defence then, the same article says they’ve lost their 3 pre-season games to non-league teams.

I think the chairman might have learned a lesson re sacking managers every few months as it hasn’t worked for him. He would have had every justification had he sacked Cox last season but he chose not to. A possible indication that he is to be given time in the job maybe, but he’s going to have to better last season by some way to be certain of staying. He couldn’t build anything with the box of assorted Lego he was presented with, this time it seems he’s been allowed to pick his own bricks, hopefully they fit together into something closely resembling a football team.

I think we all have our own opinions on that NI, maybe 98% of them very similar. Personally I’m much happier with the recruitment style this year. It would appear that the manager has had far more input than previously. No marquee signings but some solid performers at L2 level which were clearly needed, get the right keeper in and I might even become optimistic.

Sorry I didn’t make myself clear enough, the 6 or so to go out on loan are to make room for the 3 or 4 still needed to strengthen the matchday squad. Possibly those 3 triallists plus a keeper and we’ll be OK.

We also need to get 6 or so out on loan. With no U23s some of the youngsters will struggle to get game time and at least one of the more senior players is unlikely to get anywhere near match day.

Presumably somebody from Cool Silk should have cleaned the seats, not the clubs job now surely.

Gives us a chance to develop a youngster with a 2 year deal, good idea.

” The club survey was a connection with the club, the fans panel is a connection with the club” – only if the Club act on the results.

“the cheap and free buses were a connection with the club” – absolutely right, sadly it’s WERE.

“Man of the match from the iron bar nice connection with the club” – isn’t that a fans initiative?

“what connection do you want Cass” – I want to continue to feel a part of the Club I’ve supported for years, a valued supporter not an outsider. You clearly think that’s too much to ask.

You continue to talk out your arse BS, what part of the club do we own that we should be consulted on? Can’t believe people with money don’t have a bank card, and why do you need a computer to purchase a ticket?

We don’t own any of the Club, we know that. It is, however, common practice for businesses (particularly successful ones) to connect with their customers and establish their needs. Any connection between our club and fans has disappeared, they occasionaly ask for feedback but then largely choose to ignore it. You’re the only one who appears to have chosen the new kit for example.

You’re right, a leader is essential, that’s why I found the choice of captain very strange.

Great comparison between Kell & Wayne Graves – Kell arrived at the right time to receive the ball, Graves arrived just after the ball had gone. (But covered every blade of grass!!)

Pugh tends to be a CM, I thought.

You’re right les, but so was Hornshaw and where were all his league starts? No wonder few of our youngsters make the transition to league football when we change their position for them at 19.

    A couple of observations:-
Nice to see us play two up front, hope it lasts.
If the starting 11 was Cox’s ” best available” it would seem Pugh has overtaken Rowe as second choice behind Millen and Collins before Watson. Surely that can only be as back up though?

Good point about Staffy barton. Presumably winners will want paying in cash so where will that come from? Can’t see John walking around with a contactless card machine so could be the end of an era, he might have to start watching the games and suffer like the rest of us.
