If Kenyon, Perry, Beestin, Wood, Hackney, Hippo & Pugh are all fit at the same time what does Cox do?

Massive difference in the articles IMO. Yems said absolutely nothing to belittle The Iron, Lynch however – “At the same time, it’s not acceptable to lose against Scunthorpe.” Who does he think he’s playing for these days? There’s the basis for the team talk before we play them again.

    I predict an Iron victory.

Do you have any of that medicine to spare?

Oh for a Scunny team that has 12 shots in the last 20 minutes. Often takes us 4 games to achieve that.

Quite right WG, and who has suggested playing Wilson every game? Nobody as far as I remember but plenty of us have suggested he gets some game time, especially before some players who are apparently ill. Must be filling the young lad with confidence Neil.

Let’s face it…Swann came here with no real business plan

Au contraire Rodney – it’s possible that he came with a very clear business plan which could be working.

He’s already on the radio in advance talking about how we’ve got to match and nullify their 3 in midfield otherwise they will hurt us.
Why don’t we worry about hurting them??

So to nullify their midfield 3 he picked 2 kids and a NL winger – genius.
Where’s Perry BTW, 20 odd games in L1 last season? Injured, naughty step or ill with cantbearseditis? Is Hallam injured again?
Felt like a defeat didn’t it?

    We trained well.
We knew what they would do.
We lacked quality in the final third.
    The injuries affected our plans.
    We made some bad decisions.
We were unlucky with the penalty/the sending off.
We deserved something from the game.
If we repeat this performance we’ll be OK.
Why do I say this every week.

I hope I’m wrong, the humble pie is in the oven.

Give the lad a chance, certainly no worse than Hippolyte or Green ( who now has a dead leg ).

So an improvement on the 2 he usually has.

Worth a go IMO. This “we clearly have no wide men of any note” is the reason. Bunn (seldom fit) and Wilson (disappeared) look like our best option out wide but that looks unlikely to happen. Cox can’t keep picking Green and Hippo in the hope that they turn into footballers.

Ronnie Moore has been out of the game for years hasn’t he? Not a good idea. Whoever we get (if we get anybody) will have to be desperate for a job IMO.

Bizarre team selection again. Cox quote:-
“”We also had a lot of illness. Myles (Hippolyte) managed to get off his sick bed, while Beest (Alfie Beestin) has also been struggling and that’s why he didn’t start. Ross (Millen) wasn’t well enough to play, while there were a couple of others this morning who have got through the game.”

So Hippolyte, Beestin and a couple of others were in the squad although not fully fit. Bit of a kick in the teeth for Perry, Wilson & Hallam isn’t it?
If Wood is fully fit and still behind some of these then he’s a waste of a loan.

Home game, league leaders, trained well, 5 at the back, we know what they’ll do, (we won’t be able to stop them though) keep it tight, hope for a lucky penalty. Well it worked once. We live in hope – it’s all we’ve got!

Indeed. As I said earlier, he’s playing for time.
Keep stalling until the January transfer window when he can shuffle the pack to make it look like something is being done.
Could have had a career in politics. Especially under the present shower!

But we’ll still have a limit on squad size and only be able to sign the same quality as we have now unless the EFL loan is repaid won’t we?

So many posters on here who need serious help.
    This board is crazy.
    I’m out.

So you’ve finally given up trying to support the unsupportable, justify the unjustifiable and seeing the positives when there are none. It’s taken some time but you’ll feel better for it.

” we are playing the league leaders so it’s not about the result it’s a performance we need.”

We might need to vote on that!!
Play well & lose versus play crap & win, I know my preference at the moment.

One last thing, when you have thrown enough fuel on the fire you will be even more gutted when you realise you’ve helped contribute to the destruction of the club without a plan b in sight.

That’s the first time you’ve criticised the chairman, well done on seeing the light.

Swann has publicly said he’d sell the club, let’s see how much interest there is.
    My guess is zero!
The amount of people who think people will be queuing up to buy SUFC is truly baffling. I didn’t realise there are so many people who are so naive/thick.

You are making things up to suit your argument. There are plenty of posters who are begging Swann to sell. NOBODY has suggested there will be a queue to buy, if I’ve got that wrong please reference the relevant posts, thank you.

What do you honestly expect him to say??

You have the worst record of any Scunthorpe manager in recent history. The players clearly have no confidence in your ability to manage them. You’re a nice guy but you’re sacked.
    Will that do?

Not the most interesting part of the statement IMO.
    1. “The Harrogate match was one of the poorest I have watched”
    2. The biggy – “I am working on a project on our site which would ease that pressure on us, without risking the football club and has meant a temporary move of the ground and assets to its parent company whilst we work on this and I can assure everyone that once all this has been completed, the ground and training facilities will be back in Scunthorpe United Ownership.”

Swann has actually hired some very good managers, it’s just a shame

That they weren’t allowed to manage as they would have liked. Could be why they’ve been successful elsewhere maybe?
