Makes it easy for the opposition too, this is how we play so this what Scunthorpe will do to counter it. Get a grip Neil and let the other team worry about us for a change. Old school 2-3-5 on Saturday and see what they make of that!

I understand your frustration Sanfran but Cox’s reputation (such that it is) is at stake here. If Thompson is better than O’Malley then he must play, if he isn’t then why is he here. Similarly if Wood and Hackney are better than Pugh then they have to play or their signings are a massive mistake. Clearly Cox believes he needed better than he had, time will tell if he was right.

Several recent loanees have been bench warmers but that was because they weren’t good enough. I’ve said before that IMO loanees should be nailed on to start (Yates, Toney, Gabriel, Lansbury, Cork) otherwise the loan would seem pointless (Thomas, Miller, Liddle, Ugbo et al).

I think you’re right les, we’re talking about lower league players here not internationals. Keep it simple at the start and hopefully move upwards from there.

Looks like Perry & Scrimshaw isolating then. Could be worse, we could be Tranmere, 73% possession and no shots on target. Although 27% possession in a home game is not something I want to see very often (or ever again)

If you use this as a benchmark for the validity of the entire content of the statement then the value becomes questionable. (Unless, of course, “prior to the start of the season” means July 2020)

He has brought in players, characters, that have bought in to the way he wants to play the game – or so we are told! However it appears, now they are here, they have their own ideas of how to play the game and have little interest in Cox’s ideas. Can’t entirely blame them but that’s not really how it should work is it?
