Regarding the questioning, do you think it possible that, prior to broadcast, the boys went through the questions they had ready and Mr Swann selected the questions they could ask and to which he could give a vague non-answer?

On the bench to keep the opposition guessing – Fair enough.
Any minutes at all on the pitch – Definitely not!!

1 up top at home in a derby game would be a criminal offence and contract termination has to follow.

Not if that’s what the man who picks the team decides.

If only he could play that team cass.

With only 2 or 3 changes he could, the only major weakening would be the loss of KVV. It’s more about the set up and motivation bit really. O’Malley for Brown and Onariase for McGahey shouldn’t be a problem.

That, I believe, is why the manager is subject to so much criticism. We DO have the players, they are just being managed and used badly and, I suspect, against their inclinations and wishes. Does anybody really think that:-
    Howard
    Clarke McGahey Taft Brown
    Gilliead Beestin Karacan Eisa
    KVV McAtee
suitably set up and motivated would not comfortably compete at the right end of L2.
(To deflect abuse I’ve gone for experience, being happy to have Rowe, Onariase, Bedeau, O’Malley, Spence and Green to call on and develop.)

I believe there are rules preventing owners of football clubs also managing the club, can anybody confirm this?

When people think they’re getting poor value for a tenner I suspect paying several times that for a trip to GP will mean you’re not alone in that.

Change the formation – I think he will Cliff. If McGahey is OK he has the opportunity to go 5 at the back, with his 3 defensive midfielders he then has a fantastic chance to get the 0-0 he so desperately craves.
As for getting rid of the manager, denying 3,000 fans the opportunity to chant “Cox Out” at least once at GP just wouldn’t be fair.

How have we ended up with such an oversized squad of largely sub-standard players?
    Who scouted/identified them?
Who made the decision to sign them?
Did you learn nothing from the signing of Dom Vose, Johnny Margetts, Clayton Lewis, Yasim El Mhanni, James Horsfield. (Feel free to add to the list, I know there are more)

He’s fallen out with the press, the council, several managers and many fans.
    Why would players be exempt?

Be surprised if it takes that long, no shots in the first 10 minutes is almost a cert.

Sadly that’s true and he’s no better than he was at the start of the season. Seems to be learning nothing whilst gaining experience. Experience is learning from your mistakes – he isn’t!!

Don’t think so, quote from their local paper:-

“The club went into this month’s window looking for a striker, but that became more urgent when Tom Pope was injured in Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy game at Sunderland.”

One thing we’re not short of is injured strikers.

Sorry Sanfran I can’t agree. Throwing youngsters into the miserable first team set up we find ourselves with could finish their careers early, they’re best out of it.

Lundstram, Norwood, Johnstone – all premier league players.

All because of what they learned at GP, why don’t we teach them that well any more?

First priority for me is that they have to be good enough to be an automatic pick if fit. Agree with DSGM about Yates & Gabriel but can’t believe no mention for Toney or Crookes. Heavily outnumbered by the duds though, too many to list there.

I’ll answer that for you Rory – Yes.
Howard has made a couple of memorable mistakes giving away easy goals but he’s gained more points than he’s lost IMO. Not perfect (L2 why would he be?) but not as bad as is being made out. Regarding leaving his line, all our recent keepers seem to have had this coached out of them. Even Gilks became less commanding after Mussy got his hands on him.

I might be wrong (again) but it seems to me that Cox has decided that the best way to avoid the drop is to play for a 0-0 (or a flukey 1-0 by accident) until KVV is back and we have a chance of scoring so we can try for a win. Last night was yet another example of no winning intent IMO, how many of those have we had this season?

Probably got the wrong end of the stick, but I took this to be a reference to Kelsey Mooney ‘tash!

Ah right! I understand. Bringing him back from his prolific goal scoring loan spell to save our season you mean.

Decent debut last night, however he has a harsh lesson to learn if this quote from his post match interview is anything to go by.

“There are 24 games to go and we’ve got to go into every game and try to win.”

He’s clearly not been here long enough to appreciate the limit of the manager’s ambition.
