So making an absolute clanger (not the only one in the game) is “not looking too bad”? We must see things very differently.

Didn’t look too bad on the Cleggy highlights
You looked away for their 2nd goal then?
If he’s nervous and making howlers against lowly local teams in a friendly then god help him (and us!) when it comes to the opening day of the season.
He just isn’t up to scratch. We wouldn’t play this gamble with any other position on the pitch so why is Butler doing it for arguably the most important!?
So we must get behind Maison who, in my opinion anyway, has shown he is nowhere near ready to be our no.1 keeper in the NL…but someone like Beck can be written off the day he walks through the door and to be labelled “Banjo” for the rest of his days?
We need a second keeper, that is a fact, and it needs to be someone better than what we currently have.
Ahh fair enough…there was a pic on the club website gallery from the game and could have swore one of them was Harry Chapman. I stand corrected!
Chapman? Anybody know who he is?
Definitely Harry Chapman, midfielder who played for Barnet last season. Has played for Blackburn in the Championship and plenty of experience in League’s 1 and 2.
Cannot be. Has to be a decent all round keeper.
I am getting slightly miffed that this has not been remedied with real matches only a few weeks away.Agree Les. Most important position to fill this season and can’t believe it hasn’t been sorted.
If it’s budget related then honestly, I think we would have been better off letting Roberts go than starting the season with Maison Campbell as number 1.
No chance an experienced goalkeeper agrees to sign as the backup to someone who has never started a league game for a full-time professional football club.
Truro away. Get it done in the summer and make a weekend out of it.
Want: decent goalkeeper.
Need: decent goalkeeper.Like said above, this is not a position we can afford to scimp on! We’ve seen this before haven’t we…”give the young lad Rory Watson a chance, how can he gain experience without playing”…that didn’t turn out very well did it.
Very wild. Best distribution for a keeper I’ve seen at Glanny park.
Don’t worry, he can kick a ball almost to the oppositions 18 yard line. Apparently that’s what makes a brilliant goalkeeper!
Wasn’t Eastwood on loan here back in the Swan era, reckon he was?
Sure was. Between the sticks when King Kev (maybe not so much anymore!) downed the Cods at Blunder Park.
Comments above completely ignoring the fact he played 43 games for a team that finished 8th in League 2 last season? Yeah, he must be completely finished as a footballer!

Rose back on loan (if he’s fit) until Barrows is back would be perfect
Oldham just won the playoffs with a 37 year old Joe Garner and 34 year old James Norwood both scoring in the final. 34 year old Corry Evans running the show in midfield.
That is not Louis Jones on that FB post!

Get Matty Lund back…seen training at the PFA pre-season camp for those without a club.
I’d be disappointed if the new keeper was brought in as a bit of an unknown trialist. Probably the most important signing this close season, ideally needs to be someone with a decent amount of experience…or failing that a highly rated youngster on loan from a Prem/Champ club.

At least six trialists in that photo!
CD x 1 if MK stays x 2 if he leaves
Why would we need 5 centre backs? Agree with the rest though.
Wasn’t at the Buxton game he played against us so can’t comment personally, but just going from his own comments in his video interview he doesn’t particularly seem to be the defensive, ball winning midfielder that our squad is crying out for.
Rowley as mentioned above. The one that sticks out though is Sam Winnall, he was a trialist that didn’t turn out too badly for us! Deon Burton also signed that season after a trial and he was a class act (without scoring many).
At the other end of the spectrum I still can’t quite get my head around the decision to sign Kenan Dunnwald-Turan after his trial.

FRom Bolton newspaper article today .. Eze has joined Scunny on a 1 yr loan deal and has opted to play for Nigeria so if selected im assuming he would be away to play in the ACN

A player yet to start a game at National League level being called up to represent one of the biggest footballing nations in Africa!? Don’t think we have anything to worry about there!
If Maxi doesn’t re-sign then he’ll definitely need replacing. Don’t fancy Evans and Boyce alongside each other all season.
Other than that, a keeper and dominant midfielder are obvious needs. Don’t particularly like the right back situation either, Starbuck was barely ready to be starting games in NLN and we won’t see Barrows on the pitch until some point next year.
Seven on the bench this coming season too, we currently can’t fill it as we only have 17 players on the books and one of those is crocked.
Goalkeeper, Clunan’s replacement and a CB (Kouogun resigning or a replacement) are the priority. Still feel we could do with a proper out and out left winger, don’t like it when Beestin is played there and both Roberts and Carlton are better on the right. Starbuck isn’t good enough (yet!) to be our starting right back so we need someone else there too.

Roberts again olé, olé!
I think Kings Lynn turned full time after he left them to join us. So if he’s returning there I’d definitely be more inclined to say it’s for family reasons as opposed to getting back into the accounting game.
Notts County have snapped up Kouhyar. If League 2 playoff contenders are signing mid-to-late 20 year old NLN wingers then there’s fat chance in hell that we’re going to hang onto Roberts.
Jake Eastwood released by the Cods. Thought he did quite well when he was on loan here.
