The League managed to order the replay of the Buxton game 2 days after the game was abandoned. The only reason I see any need for this decision to take longer is because they’ll want (need!) to issue Wealdstone with some sort of punishment…not just give us the points.
But saying that we still haven’t heard anything regarding the Eastleigh abandonment so I won’t be holding my breath for a decision to be made any time soon.
Can’t see any other outcome than us getting the points. The FA rules are pretty clear on this:
“In all cases where the Management Committee are satisfied that a Match was abandoned owing to the conduct of one Team or its Club member(s) they shall award the points for the Match to the opponent.”
Wealdstone were instructed by the referee (after consulting with the PGMOL) to complete the game. They refused. Points to us.

I remember seeing Eduardo’s foot quite literally hanging off his leg when it was broken in a Premier League game vs Birmingham. He was stretchered off and taken to hospital. Game continued. Wealdstone playing the “mental health” card is a sign of the times I guess.
Agree with all of that. The League need to make a decision pronto as both Starbuck and Horton should have served their suspensions today. If we go to Forest Green next weekend still not knowing the official outcome then they’re both going to have to sit out AGAIN!
The league need to nip this in the bud with a tough punishment for wealdstone.
Absolutely. 2-1 down and had already made all of their substitutions so cried off!
Well, when the league finally gets round to considering our suspended games then if they decide the Eastleigh game must be replayed , then Wealdstone will almost certainly argue that today’s should be as well. You could not make this shit up!
Completely different scenario to the Eastleigh game. The referee made the decision to abandon that game, and rightly so. This game was abandoned solely because Wealdstone refused to play. Forfeit game, 3-0 win incoming.
Different organisation (and we know how shambolic the National League are) but similar to when Romania were awarded a 3-0 win versus Kosovo because Kosovo players refused to play after receiving abuse from the crowd.

Butler confirmed on radio that the ref and the League instructed that the game must continue. Wealdstone refused “because they weren’t in the right frame of mind”.
All because of a shoulder injury as well…what a farce!
Well there you have it. Butler confirmed on radio that the ref and League wanted the game to continue and Wealdstone refused to play on. Anything other than an incoming 3-0 win will be absolutely ludicrous!

Wealdstone players pretty much down the tunnel before they even checked on their player…manager in the refs ear. They clearly didn’t want to play. Ridiculous!
Exactly. How can the National League make a decision and not the referee? Players have literally snapped their legs in half during games, get stretchered off, go to hospital, game continues. Tuesday night was completely different with their guy having a convulsion and clearly wasn’t able to be moved, with an ambulance brought onto the pitch.
So why has this game been abandoned!?
Don’t think you’re being cynical at all, Wealdstone clearly trying every tactic in the book to get the game abandoned. With Butler saying it’s not the refs decision to abandon the game surely that suggests a 3-0 win is incoming?
Game abandoned, wtf!? Butler saying on the mic that it wasn’t the referees decision? Surely that suggests Wealdstone refusing to come back out and a 3-0 win then?
Bargain bucket.
Down to the bare bones at the back for tomorrow. Starbuck and Horton still suspended because technically the Eastleigh game never happened, so the only fit defenders we now have are Boyce, Evans and Denton.
Will we go with those 3 in a back 3, or does someone come in as a makeshift right back in a back 4? Think we could really do with a right back being brought in as an emergency loan. Barrows is still a long way from returning, Rose is out for another 6-8 weeks and JB won’t be back any time soon after his injury on Tuesday.
Think the pattern has already well and truly emerged, every goal we’ve conceded this season in the league has been from a high ball (cross or throw) into the box…with the majority being to the back post.

Agree with Cass, JB won the header and their player came steaming into him. Very fine margins but was definitely late and would have been a foul in our favour. Very glad to hear that both players seem to be on the mend as the scene after the clash was quite disturbing and like nothing I’ve seen on a football pitch before.
JB was excellent at right back, Ewing is on another level compared to the rest. Thought Watson played well. ANOTHER goal conceded from a cross into the back post…definitely needs sorting out pronto (pretty sure that every goal we’ve conceded in the league this season has been from a high ball into the box).

Got a feeling we’ll just go with Jean at right back and stick with the same system. We’ve conceded a lot of our goals from crosses into the back post so don’t really see Scales as an option at full back.
Back post again ffs!!
Guessing Howe can’t quite keep up with the fitness of full time football yet? Been one of our best performers and went off on 69 minutes on Saturday so a bit disappointed to see him on the bench.
As I expected, looks like Jean has slotted in at right back in a back 4.
Another clean sheet? Haven’t had one yet!

Whitehall’s former stomping ground so hoping he can at least get one over his former club. First away game I can’t get to this season but I’ll go for a 1-1 draw, Whitehall with the goal.
For anyone saying it wasn’t a dive, go on the DAZN app, watch their highlights of the game and skip to 2 mins 38. It has a zoomed in slow motion replay of it and Starbuck 100% dives…didn’t even get touched. He didn’t appeal because he knew he made a mistake in trying to con the ref!
So frustrating, we were by the far the better team in the 2nd half until the sending off (couldn’t really tell from where I was stood but have now seen the slow motion replay on the DAZN highlights and Starbuck definitely dived…silly boy!).
Agree with iron64 above, having no outlet up front when down to 10 just invites constant pressure. Chadwick looked like he’d already run a bloody marathon as soon as he came on and didn’t get anywhere near closing anybody down.
They used to do single game/week packages until late last season when it changed to monthly. Don’t think there’s any other option other than to sign up for the year.
Looking at the upcoming fixtures a monthly pass ain’t too bad value as I think you’ll (legally) get to watch the Brackley, Eastleigh, Wealdstone (as it falls on a Premier League international break) and Boreham Wood games for £19.99.
Sorry to say Mick, you’ve now been banned from GP by Butler!
One, and even that was questionable as his initial shot was saved and then ricocheted off his shin!
Ultimately strikers are judged on goals and one goal in 29 appearances (12 starts) just ain’t good enough. If he was providing plenty else to the team then fair enough, but he doesn’t. Carlton should lead the line if Whitehall is out.
By all accounts he was a left-back when he signed for Farsley Celtic in 2022, so not completely unaccustomed. Good shift though!
Butler’s comments don’t really bother me, and nobody is going to be staying away because of them. As Awaywego mentions he’s shown throughout his tenure that he’s clearly a prickly character who gets easily riled up whenever criticism heads his or his players way. If anyone who ever had anything negative to say online stayed away then we’d quickly be back down to the 1500 club.
But regarding that criticism, how/why is he seeing it unless he’s trawling through FB/X/Bru? It’s definitely not vocalised from the stands inside the stadium, so unless someone is trawling social media and creating a “criticism dosier” to feed back to him, then it’s pretty easy to just ignore SUFC related stuff on FB/X/Bru.

We sure do miss Whitehall when he’s not leading the line. Halifax had a bit of an injury crisis themselves and were playing Josh Hmami, a winger, at centre back and even with 11 men we couldn’t really capitalise on it with Beck up top.
