I was very disappointed by ABs belligerent rejection of a return to the Iron for Billy Sharp.
Billy would score 20 a season at National League level, and by god we are going to need those 20 goals. He would also strike fear into opposition defences which we currently do not.
Rejects Billy, signs Hurst who is awful and was when on loan. Signs Ogle who was an headless chicken first time round as one of 5 right backs, 3 more than needed. Sticks with two goalkeepers who can shot stop but can’t catch crosses or command their box nor can they distribute accurately or quickly. Then dismisses a return for Ross Fitzsimmons who can do everything the other two can do and everything they cannot.
Retains Denton who is mistake ridden along with an equally poor Barrows. Re-signs an aging Butterfield and loses playmaker Westbrook who obviously made Rowley tick.
I am beginning to question the managers belated ego, and those in charge who have allowed him to assemble a massively below par squad, whilst allowing him to reject a striker who can strike and a keeper who can keep.
