Disappointing as we’re on a bit of a roll with a great opportunity to pick up another 3 points…but probably the sensible and correct decision to call it off now before wasting anyone’s time.

Well at least we won’t drop out of the Playoff places!

Expect ours won’t be the only game called off.

Looking at long range forecast it might affect the next home game as well (Clitheroe). That might work out in our favour if this has to be rearranged into a night fixture – and also potentially save fans from rearranging Truro away if we get through.

Boreham wood called theirs off this morning, announced yesterday there would be a pitch inspection.
Nice to see early sensible decisions from both clubs.

Don’t know if it would have made any difference but putting the covers on before the pitch froze might have been a good idea.

Arrr conwhooshus say Cass .. what no undersoil heating !!??

im sure if the covers were put on sooner rather than later may have had a closer outcome , alas when relying on volunteers its always dodgy .. Shame as the team just started to click again and also lets not forget some key players may well be recalled (westbrooke) or leave before this game is rearranged thus making us weaker ..

On the bright side I shall now not have to rush home tomorrow evening from my scheduled post New Year curry , beers and slip n slide afternoons entertainment.. so a happy ending is assured less 3 points of course.

Nowt to do with the volunteers, just the club been tight again you know they don’t want to pay the full time staff the added time on new years day.
This club is amazing, amazingly thick, stupid call it what you will.

Will allow Mr Butler the opportunity to replace Chadwick and Eze without panicking.

I’m getting a sense of deja vu from when I returned home this time last year!
    I’m jinxed.
One more DAZN fixture to add to my list.
Oh well looks like another stroll around Normandy Hall instead :)

The club need to be looking at the Clitheroe fixture now, the weather forecast is poor all week.

With the small crowd that is expected maybe move it to Bottersford’s plastic pitch just to get it out the way they don’t need a fixture backlog.
February is more or less Saturday Tuesday fixtures all month.

It’s always that bit at the end of the ground. Can’t we get heated covers or under soil heating just for that part which gets no sun? Seems a waste of a Saturday with the better revenue to go with it

You can hire portable electric blowers. Maybe some local firms could help the Club out ?
I wonder if they have looked into alternative ways of thawing the away end out.

Given that the pitch isn’t in the best of condition anyway and we still have players out injured perhaps it wasn’t made a priority?

Being not the brightest sparks and leaving the covers off till the last moment, I honestly believe no matter when they put them on the game wouldn’t have been able to be played.
Rochdale, re Accrington, re Accrington Stanley fully covered their pitch after Tuesday’s game and was still called off, mind you it was during the pre match warm up when called off, a far worse outcome for all fans than what happened at Scunthorpe I’m sure you’ll all agree.
