Use the money to pay up Turan and Jarvis. I just hope we don’t replace them with more crap.

A lot of logic in there, although hindsight is a wonderful thing

To be fair I often talk a lot of rubbish but I actually said that at the time we let him go. I always said we should have signed Wootton to a contract and loaned him out. I said the same with Godden as well.

Certain people will claim Wootton had a fair crack at the whip but dipping people in and out all the time or playing them as loan strikers in a somewhat struggling team is crazy when they’re inexperienced is crazy.

We keep letting raw talent who need game time go either for free or nominal fee’s and other people are profiting…it’s baffling.

I honestly don’t understand why we can’t offer these types of players 2 yr contracts and just send them out on loan with the loan team picking up their wage.

    Short sighted stupidity.

Iron awe don’t make up utter rubbish. Leave that to the resident club stooge.

Going off topic here but Wootton is netting goals again this season. Scored 18 last season and 16/17 this season.

I always said there was a good striker there. Why do we keep doing this ?

Why not sign him up to another contract and allow him to leave on loan to Notts County for game time ?

From what I read earlier he’s being watched by various league one clubs and a few championship clubs.

Not as tragic as Goode though. Swann brought him here as his out of nowhere pet project, ended up releasing him for free and then is sold for 1 million quid after a promotion season with Northampton.

This club is absolutely clueless. Add Godden into the mix as well.

Can we move on from this sort of language? Now we’ve heard from so many players about the mental health challenges of being injured, can’t we be a bit more sympathetic?

I never said it was his fault he was always injured but nevertheless he’s always on the injury table. In times like these with money thin on the ground, I fail to see what use he will be.

We all know how talented a player he is but if he’s never on the pitch to show it, it doesn’t count for much.

We’re talking Charlie Barks here, not an established player on a large wage.

I’m sure it said on the radio 2 or 3 weeks ago that Karacan was on very little. I thought it was odd that we’ve not see him on the contracts offered list but the declined list.

Was he even offered a contract ?

Cox said we were after a 2 players who were both from top end league two clubs. Andrew Tutte from Bolton is out of contract, 30yr old CM who played 19 times for them.

Karacan was quite outspoken about the goings on at the club. Maybe he’s pissed Swann off ?

Charlie Barks is another odd one. We only have 2 cb’s at the club. I always thought he looked a good player and surely could have been a decent enough 4th choice.

I’d rather we kept him rather than draft in a potential loan signing.

both offered to allow Scunny to command a fee. Doubt either will be here in a few weeks

I doubt that would be the case with Hallam. Who the hell is going to want him ?. In times like these you won’t get clubs on a budget after somebody who’s never fit.

    McAtee lazy… give over

I remember a game in particular when we were holding on for dear life, brought McAtee on with about 15 mins left and he couldn’t even be arsed to close anybody down, he was walking around the pitch.

I remember Tom Newey was disgusted with his effort, or shall I say..lack of.

As soon as his agent came out with his wonder move to Newcastle, it seemed he downed tools.

If you think he plays with enthusiasm and shows great effort then you clearly need help.

    You honestly being serious ?

Hallam’s always injured. McAtee can never be arsed to break sweat. Tom Pugh has never even had a chance, seems a strange one.

If Hallam signs on again I’ll be fuming…he’s never fecking fit. As said above, McAtee just can’t ever put the effort in.

I hope to god neither sign. Pugh I don’t really care about…he’ll end up being a squad filler.

Well we know Van veen, McAtee, Gillead and Mcgahey are definitely off. Mooney will be on his bike “odd signing”.

Bedeau if to believed will be going.

The important one is if Karacan signs an extension or not.

I can see us cashing in on Dawson. I can’t for the life of me see Butroid staying. Pugh will probably be off.

Hornshaw is an interesting one…saw him once in a sitting midfield role in a cup game a few seasons ago and he got man of the match, to be fair to him he looked a talented midfielder.

Only problem is he won’t get in ahead of Beestin, Spence and hopefully Karacan so he’s another that can do with being moved on. It’s about time now we stopped carrying squad filling players.

If we can move on Jarvis, Turan with nominal pay offs and move Hippolyte on a season long loan “back to yeovil” we’ll have the decks cleared.

All we have to hope for is that no more crap is moved back on the iron boat !

‘Even Swann can’t be that daft, surely ?. ‘

Made me laugh. Where shall we start!

When you take into account he signed Howard after back tracking on Watson supposedly being good enough…think it’s fair to say Watson won’t be first choice next season.

Even Swann can’t be that daft, surely ?. In his own mind he thought he was good enough but quickly backtracked with the signing of Howard so he must know deep down he isn’t/will never be good enough.

Howard was dependable I suppose but nothing special. A 6 out of 10 gk for me.

I just hope to god we sign a good quality gk as his replacement.

Only on this forum does a thread about Swann being a shocking owner somehow morphs into a thread about politics.

That crap should be discussed elsewhere.

    Honestly, it ruins threads.

Brexit and the like should be spouted on non football. This is happening too often on this forum now.

I know the footballing side is uninspiring to say the least but please keep away from the politics crap.

It’s clear he isn’t tactically good enough to prosper even at this level. That much is quite clear.

A manager doesn’t oversee 10+ games in which his team have 1 shot or less on target if they’re any good.

I know the squad is questionable but his tactics or “lack of” is just as worrying.

Let’s face it. Cox didn’t have a clue how to overcome the problems and sounded lost in post match interviews.

If Cox is to stay around. Lillis needs binning off and Cox needs an activate assistant manager to fall back on. What I mean by active is somebody who’s still involved in football, not somebody dragged from a care home who hasn’t even been involved in football for about 7 or 8 years.

Ideally I’d get rid of him and Cox but if Cox is to stay, Lillis needs to go. Lillis was brought here as an attacking coach to work with the strikers and we are where we are now.

No point in him being here.

It indicates we don’t have a future!

Completely disagree. It’s all well and good setting budget aside for u23’s “players for the future” when your already settled and have strong foundations but it’s nonsensical for us to plan ahead like that now.

Look, we’re deep in the brown stuff and we need all the money we can muster to build the 1st team squad up first and foremost.

The u23’s is a waste of money as we need stability of the first team first, before we even think about the future.

As it stands now it would be much more beneficial if we ended the separate u23 squad and just have one complete squad and either dip the youngsters in and out the first team or send out on loan.

The u23 players who were deemed good enough as first team quality have been training with the 1st team anyway so makes sense to scrap that as a separate venture and make it as once complete squad.

Another stupid decision by Swann in my opinion but at least it looks like it’s been rolled back. I saw the other day on twitter that about 20% of the playing budget has gone on the u23’s set up. I don’t know how accurate that is but that’s what I read.

I’d much rather that be made available for the 1st team squad to help safeguard against signing anymore Turan’s and Jarvis’s.

If we can free the u23 money up and play Jarvis and Turan up, I’d be pleased. I just hope we don’t go down that road ever again.

Tell you what the balls up from Loft. Easy finish really, panicked…completely lost his head, fluffed it and also failed to see an unmarked Van Veen who would have even tapped that home with a broken leg.

That was the most blatant example of us needing strikers next season. Swann, the absolute Buffoon is to blame with signing pissing Turan, Mooney and Jarvis who aren’t worth a 1p coin.

    I read this earlier….

“Kev’s fine, and trained today (Thursday),” he added.

“He’s been on good form today, and he’s raring to go which is good. There are a few boys who are raring to go, who have let themselves down and have let everyone else down.

What the feck is actually going on down at GP ?

uptheiron, not being funny but it was his ridiculously stupid plan on fielding a whole team of kids thinking we needed no experience and then did a u-turn at the last minute when he knew he had got it drastically wrong.

Howard, Brown we’re especially panic signings.

Personally I would like the chairman to employ a competent football manager, give him a reasonable but not excessive League 2 budget and then let him get on with rebuilding a football team and complete backroom staff from scratch while he gets on with his apartments, racehorses and other businesses.

We’ve all wanted that from day one. Swann got rid of Turnbull “the only scout at the club” and proceeded to Sign Turan, Mooney and Jarvis.

That just about sums Swann up. You can want that all you like, reality is Swann won’t give a shit and will do as he likes.

I could be totally wrong about that but strikes me as that kind of person.

What competent chairman sacks off a recognized scout and then brings players in who aren’t fit for conference level ?

I really don’t think he knows what to do

I’ve had that impression for the past month or so. Therein lies the problem.

Let’s face it. If he did know what he was doing we wouldn’t have 9+ games where we’ve recorded 1 shot or less on target.

    3, maybe 4 at a push is worrying in it’s self but 9+ ?

If that doesn’t highlight the fact he has no idea what he’s doing, nothing will !

I would have given Gillead and O’Malley both 5, as they we’re the only starting players who tried.

Green looked bright at times when he came on but apart from that, rest were a complete and utter joke.

I hope this isn’t sign of things to come but Taft was shocking again. Last 3 games he’s been unrecognizable.

I suspect his hands are tied and that there are other factors at play

I think I read earlier we’ve played 9 games, YES 9 GAMES and failed to register a shot on target.

Whatever else is going on….that’s firmly on Cox. Tactically he hasn’t got a the slightest of clues.

Even a half decent manager wouldn’t allow that to happen.

Look, Swann needs booting out but Cox is complete waste of time.

Not surprising. Why do you think he was let go in the first place ?

Swann thinks he knows it all and signed utter shite which wouldn’t even have made it on to Turnbulls 10th back up list of players.

I’ve said it before, if he wants to play at being a footballing man..I suggest he buys a copy of football manager and sits down for an hour a day.

    The bloke is clueless.

The records of both Jarvis and Turan are shocking.

O’Leary is a stickler for a quick Sandwich in Pines Car Park.

I’m that’s where he was spotted last time !

On A more serious note, Swann appointed Swann and Lillis “who he enticed away from a care home” in a bid to get in our good books….only problem is Lillis doesn’t appear to add anything and Cox is right up there with the worse tacticians we’ve had at the club.

After this season we need a clean sweep. Wilcox needs binning off, Cox is dog mess and not sure what Lillis brings to the table.

Ideally Swann should piss off as well but that’s not going to happen right away so best we can hope for is a managerial and player clear out.

    Honestly…..absolutely pathetic.

Swann’s an awfully brave man if he backs Cox going into next season when we’re allowed in.
