2 major bits of naivety for me, which will result in us finishing the season on 47 points rather than the comfort of mid table.

    1. Withdrawing new contracts for several players (who were never going to resign anyway)and making this news public

    2. The continuous public slating of players in post match interviews by the management team.

Do the players deserve criticism? Absolutely! Should they be getting a bollocking behind closed doors? Definitely! Does public criticism on this scale ever have a positive impact? I’m not so sure.

The time for ripping up contracts and telling the players that they’re not good enough should have come when safety was assured.

We’re now left with a large group of players who are neither good enough nor care enough to register another point this season.

    Sad times indeed.

Players who I believe genuinely care about the club
    KVV Karacan Gillead O’Malley

Karacan may or may not be in this bracket but he is a solid professional with pride so comes across such

The rest are made up of barely good enough National league mid table players, players who are looking for next meal ticket, 1 or 2 injured players forced to play now and risking long term damage. That’s it

There are lots of things broken at the club at so many levels, and it’s not just little things like running out of pies before HT.

I bet he’s in awe after Swann brought in Turan, Mooney and Jarvis.

He told me the other week he hadn’t nothing to do with any of the signings and wouldn’t have recommended most of them.

Not surprising. Why do you think he was let go in the first place ?

Swann thinks he knows it all and signed utter shite which wouldn’t even have made it on to Turnbulls 10th back up list of players.

I’ve said it before, if he wants to play at being a footballing man..I suggest he buys a copy of football manager and sits down for an hour a day.

    The bloke is clueless.

The records of both Jarvis and Turan are shocking.

Same could be said of the managers we let go, after all you wanted rid of Alexander mick. Then there were bobbins and Hurst, I know it was swanny in the end who got rid but they weren’t wanted by the fans mostly.

I think TBF Awaywego, Hurst was just starting to get things right and was generally being accepted by the majority on here I believe, however The Prawn accused him of not cutting the squad size down as, allegedly, had been promised when he signed his contract and swung his axe. How big is our playing staff now?

I don’t understand your obsession with pulling up your fellow supporters all the time awaywego. Sure, the fans need to take some responsibility but ultimately the hiring and firing is down to the owner. Every football forum criticises players and coaches all the time if things aren’t going well. However, other clubs don’t have such a high turnover of managers.

Speaking of which, certain posters to this site have been noticeable by their absence in the past week.

Awaywego is having to do the work of five people!

criticism is relative to football fans. Alexander at the time was dropping a now premiership player and playing our best CB at left back, we had gone off the boil on the cusp of league one playoffs. Offer fans a view of the future – i.e. struggling to survive as a league club with no player looking like a professional footballer and they’ll probably take Alexander, just like Arsenal with Wenger but none of this is at the door of the fans – we are still paying to watch this farce and the chairman treats us with contempt. So retrospect is wonderful – ask how many would pay for ifollow if they knew how they would play and the score and you won’t get many paying

Maybe I would stop criticizing fellow supporter’s when they give managers a chance, the knives came out pretty much the same time for Hurst and Cox late sept early October, demanding to sack managers in their first season what planet are people on, takes time to gel a team together even then you need the right personnel. Cox said he likes to play attacking football he just didn’t say when so let’s hope it’s next season. We’ve all been watching football long enough to know that no teams stay at the top all the time and just the same for teams at the bottom of the league, so am pretty confident we will be better next year hopefully in lge 2.

I expect Geoff Stellings been laughing his off for a few years after his spat with the Prawn and seeing how things have transpired at GP.

I think naivety applies to a number of the players, they know they aren’t getting new contracts apparently but they aren’t exactly putting themselves in the shop window with their pitiful performances.
I expect their agents will be telling them they can get better clubs but in reality those we release will finish up in non league or part time.

After saying that Awaywego, yrs a lot of fans did want rid of some of the managers, but it must be questioned if they were actually allowed to manage without interferance, because in my opinion Swanny appears to want to be the big boss, and we will never know why Alexander changed the way and style we were playing, to that defensive rubbish that we still witness even till today, as far as I can see possibly only the present Grimsby manager stuck to his own system, and Swann soon bladdered him, maybe Robins also resented the Swann ways to. But after saying that Awaywego, this present clown cannot lace the boots of any of the sacked managers, so what is he still doing here??????.

Anyway I think I have said enough on a few threads, and my views are well known, but this weeks news that our club have had their ground and all the land being handed over to Swann, when most of the clubs debt has been run up by Swanns failed pipe dreams. We now have nothing, no decent players, no ground and the only way ahead will be probably more and more debt, which we have no money to cover it.

Disputes over contracts – haven’t we been here before? Remember a few seasons back how performances suddenly went off the boil after ‘words were had’ when Swann allegedly refused to discuss contracts during a decisive time in the promotion push.
And now rumours are circulating that contract offers have been withdrawn just as performances have gone from bad to worse.
    Coincidence?
