How many would have not travelled if they knew he was changing 7 players ?
For decades this club has some of the most fickle fans, I don’t know why but we do. So after all the recent trauma people have been working together and gates are on the up, So why put it at risk ? A cup run is vital, you play your strongest team and get the job done. Want to do 7 changes then arrange a kickabout.

Ground capacity they say is 4000 with 300 seats.
Sixerite – Alfie Beestins fitness problems were put down to recurring bouts of Covid, although it was not recorded as Long Covid. He was more susceptible but the bouts reduced which allowed him a proper pre-season with a bit extra added for him to help.
Not sure if anyone has come across it before, but stumbled across this today:

The lad who commentates does an excellent job. Lots of matches, lots of goals and he delivers it all.
Enjoyed it.
No game is a given. Worrying thing for me is people making comments about our poor passing.
It is not good enough for any player at this level whose quality of pass is sub standard. Good passing saves time, it builds attacks quicker and with a lot more accuracy. Goals can be scored quicker.
Certainly not. Every point will have to be earned. Complacency has no place at this club now.
Actually agree with Wondergoals. Relegation from the National League proved it – if he knew what he was doing he would have turned the job down !
£3,375 prize money if we win and £1,125 if we lose. Seems a long time since we last won a cup match
A good start for a cup run. Will boost financial flexibility for the board a little bit more provided we win of course.

All rounds won earns money. The longer the run then the board get a bit more financial flexibility. Oak trees from acorns grow.
Yes ALL 700 gone. Great away support yet again.
Passing practice for all. Kiddy’s pass success rate must have been twice ours. Hardly wasted a ball whereas we gave it away too cheaply too often.
Shooting practice for Carlton and a couple of others. Situations where hitting the target is a minimum requirement. Was the same at Shields ‘tash.
Luckily we look to have a well drilled defence and DMF.
I guess that making us difficult to score against is a good platform to build upon.
The great Bill Shankly always built from the back.
Good enough for him then more acceptable to us.
They get about 2,500 to home games so you would think they would have managed about 300 for a Saturday game.
Be interesting to see how many make it tonight.
I’ll for 170 away fans.
An important game to WIN!
All games are important and wins even more so.
Don’t see the point of playing if you are not going out to win.
No such thing in August. But 3 points would be very nice.Does this system show the player who runs about a lot but doesn’t quite get where he should be ? !
Enjoyed the podcast and how the battle is going.
Realism and honesty in the boardroom and now actually engaging with the fans which is probably the first time in 20+ years.
Supporters doing their bit which is helping the players realise what they could achieve if they keep up the focus.
I am always optimistic but get real !
Well what a sad loser the South Shields manager is – if his players were that good it must have been his tactics that allowed us to win !
You do what you have to do, we did and scored 2 conceded 0 therefore we got 3pts and they got none.

Going to be tough battle.
Targeting never works, it shows failure is acceptable.
46 games in the league then 46 wins are what is needed.

Shrewd move. Young player starting have a positive effect in games and will start to get noticed and our investment is protected. It also starts to build the squad for th 2025 – 2026 season.
Always better to play our game and make opponents deal with us.

‘In the 3-5-2 think Ogle is the bigger miss’
Funnily enough, watching the game on the stream last night I actually thought to myself, ‘we’re not missing Ogle. Glad he’s moved on. Must ask my Oldham mate how he’s doing’.
Looking at some of the footage from last season did think Ogle left his position on several occasions and we seemed to concede.
Perhaps Whitehall may be on the bench. Besides tonight need to look at the set-up for home to Chorley.
But agree that Andy & John will have it all mapped out.
I thought the Telegraph only covered Grimsby Town since they moved there
As a publication it is not what it was. Ask Chris Sumpter or Paul Crute.
The clubs historian now part of its history. He would have a smile but be embarrassed with peoples responses to his passing.
John and several other stalwarts who have passed would have been buzzing with how Michelle, George, Roj and Ian at the first league game as the club now starts its aim of league football. Couple it to the new kits and the launch videos good times starting to return.
Physically they may have gone but peoples memories of them ensures they will always be there.
One of Franks best goals for me was at the OSG against Bristol Rovers. Attacking Fox Street Frank cut in from the right at the corner of the penalty area. As he came in 2 Bristol players were coming in to sandwich tackle him, his timing was impeccable and he hit the pair of them and they bounced off. Just after that he hit the ball their keeper got set ! He looked behind him, it was already in the net. Headline in the nationals next day was “Jeers then Cheers for Barton as tore Bristols defence apart.
It says he is still in the USA.
The 3rd strip has just put this club way above any other. What a set of shirts, have to say not seen any trio better than that from this level all the way down to the Premiership.
Then as people say the presentation videos with the story for each organised by James and the team just push it even further.
What a way to set the club on the path to regain league status.
