November 30, 2024 at 5:19 pm #294800When we played Carlton and Fishburn I thought it showed Whitehall’s worth, but he has been awful ever since. He was terrible again today.
November 30, 2024 at 5:20 pm #294801Combined with the worst tactics ever the recipe ain’t great.
November 30, 2024 at 5:25 pm #294802Whitehall is a clown Clunan just a bluffer
November 30, 2024 at 5:25 pm #294803Why do we sink to the level of these part time teams and play heading tennis, we are useless at it. Last two games change of tactics, 4 points, should have given AB an idea how we should play. Not for AB though, he wants his five, so what do we get – the worst performance from Scunthorpe probably ever. He has to go!!

November 30, 2024 at 5:28 pm #294805First thing that came into mind walking away was we must get rid of Whitehall and Clunan, not the manager and is negative tactics oh no clunan and Whitehall that’ll do, not the players playing hoof ball to Beck instead of playing football, no just Clunan and Whitehall, we all know the only person who should be going cos realistically you don’t pay players off so maybe it should be the manager.

November 30, 2024 at 5:30 pm #294806I think the thing is that the better players in this team who can’t be arsed will be replaced by a lower standard as the budget is cut. We may well at this point go part time. We are in this league for the long haul!
November 30, 2024 at 5:41 pm #294808I’m afraid it’s showing that butler is a very very defensive manager,it’s OK having the idea of defensive stability, but not at all costs, from the midfield set up to up top ,no idea, no width,I’ve been watching scunny for over 50 years and that today has to rank in one one the worst performances ever, butlers tactics were no different to pub football, play with no width and you are reduced to hoof ball, best squad in the league, not a chance in hell, utter utter rubbish, but we kept a clean sheet what a, crap way to keep playing your football ,crowds will start dropping and the board will have to act!

November 30, 2024 at 5:49 pm #294814Didn’t announce the crowd again today on the scoreboard, less than 3000 imo.

November 30, 2024 at 5:50 pm #294815if we go part-time, you will be lucky if the crowds reach 2000,part-time and the dream of ever returning to the efl is dead forever, we will be bit better supported team than brigg, bottesford, winterton but that is a scenario that surely can’t be contemplated.

November 30, 2024 at 6:08 pm #294820What at least since the late 70s.
At least we were still a Football League team then!

November 30, 2024 at 6:16 pm #2948211) I couldn’t believe that Butler had changed back to a failing system.
Okay – we began by pushing the WBs further forward but that soon reverted to the normal tripe.
2) Beck is a jewel. Let us not spend whole games lumping 40 yard balls into his general direction, though.
3) Why have ‘forward players’ not been learning how to work off Beck? Don’t they do training any more?
4) That game was execrable. Even that source of countless (clean but damning) adjectives – Mrs Lesgeo – was left utterly speechless. She ain’t going back in a hurry which means that neither am I!
5) I have tried to support AB; as someone who has sacked people in past years – I gave him advice on Bru. (And don’t believe managers, leaders, directors, CEOs etc who claim not to read reviews of what they are doing. They are the first to!)
6) Butler’s team selection was bonkers. I won’t even bother to explain that remark.
7) We were so badly prepared we ceded the entire control of the game to a pub team with attitude. This is a managerial failure in spades.
8) I have criticised long and often for two months but today was my final day of tolerance. BUTLER OUT! Get thee hence!
9) The club is at a crossroads where its fan base is concerned. Keep Butler – lose many fans. Sack him and we may be able to stop the rot.
10) Two year contract? – If you have any honour, Andy you will leave without demanding compensation.8 users thanked author for this post.

November 30, 2024 at 7:05 pm #294842The players are crap,if he chad a good squad I might agree. But he hasnt
November 30, 2024 at 7:09 pm #294843Don’t know if he now has but 70 mins after the game he still had not given Humberside his post match interview and they had no message either !
November 30, 2024 at 7:15 pm #294848It’s online now
November 30, 2024 at 7:59 pm #294857Clunan’s ability to show for the ball while at the same time hiding behind opposition players is a superpower
November 30, 2024 at 8:02 pm #294858Some of Clunan’s one yard passes were breathtaking.
November 30, 2024 at 8:04 pm #294859Yet the manager keeps picking Clunan!
And the guy that spends majority of the game on the turf.
Why?
November 30, 2024 at 8:06 pm #294861He’s got nothing else,it’s a state of affairs
November 30, 2024 at 8:17 pm #294864He benched a player that’s been among our best recently and failed to start the best replacement for Roberts, so it’s not true to suggest he’s got nothing else.

November 30, 2024 at 8:20 pm #294865The excuse why Brogan was benched was because he’d played two games!!
Straight swap for Clunan.

Over 3500 Awaywego, announced at the final whistle and shown on the scoreboard, I guess you left early, can’t say I blame you.

I had to chuckle at this remark too. And the reasoning that we struggled to create chances because Alfreton had a long throw! He’s lost the plot.

December 1, 2024 at 1:12 am #294894if we go part-time,
When…
Next season is on the cards.December 1, 2024 at 5:29 am #294902December 1, 2024 at 7:01 am #294907I wonder how many years it took Gainsborough’s supporters to accept their fate after failing to be re-elected at the end of the 1911-12 season?
On 30th Sept 1911 they lost 1-0 (penalty) in front of 30,000 at Stamford Bridge!
Let’s hope that Michelle & her merry men resolve the current issue and that we don’t go the way of Gainsborough.
December 1, 2024 at 8:56 am #294912I’ve gotta disagree with people who are slamming the players.
These failures come very largely from exceedingly below par management.
The truth about the players can only be revealed once a competent manager is in place.how many managers will you let them throw under a bus, your Butler out at any cost agenda is clear
