Neither do opposition defenders, that’s why we should keep him.

First Final I’ve seen where both sets of fans were in tears at the final whistle!
HMS PTL has arrived at it’s destination as predicted. Faced choppy waters, but completed the voyage to the promise land.
She should have won the Blue Ribband, but instead limped into port three weeks later.
Now some of the crew will no doubt jump ship and Captain Butler will have to send out his Press Gang to put together a company worthy of steering her around the Cape of Vanarama and into the EFL Ocean.
Thank f*** we’re out of that bloody awful league!
Now let’s stay out.

During the off season boredom I have an idea for threads in the vein of this one if it cures the nostalgia and people are interested.
Like a “could have been an Iron legend if he’d stayed”.
Matt Godden.
Fired Charlton into the L1 playoff final last night.
I’m an Aries myself.
As was John Barker’s “sticking your head in where it hurts” equaliser that put him in hospital.
I seem to remember travelling to Sheffield on a double-decker bus. Or is my senility kicking in?

Come 18:00hrs on Sun 18th May 2025 – will it be an epitaph, a prologue or an end of season developmental review?
So it’s not going to extra time and penalties then?
Wish I’d been wrong!
I’ll give you a legendary team: –
Barnard
Foxton
Barker
Atkin
Deere
Welbourne
Kerr
Keegan
Cassidy

Telly has always been crap during the summer months.
More Minecraft than Goldmine perhaps?
37 mins
Still 0-0
I can’t watch any more of this, it’s dire!Of course it is it’s at the Heed’s ‘effing International Stadium – ha!
One of the worst places in the world to watch football.
My Chester mate is already celebrating!
But would the Heed be allowed into EFL L2 if they won it?
Slap a monkey on it did you Rene?
Won more than Chesterfield but lost 18 games. That’s more than the teams in 16/17 place.
That’s what cost them.
Shame!
Aye, but needed an ex-Iron to save their tahger skins!
Jezza’s fizz water £5.50 a pint in our local!
You’re wasted on here TW.
I believe TW spends most of his days wasted.
Hawkstone Lager?

As I posted on the Brackley thread, they went top on Saturday 8th March. We leapfrogged them on Tuesday 11th when we won away at Alfreton and they were held to a draw at King’s Lynn.
Block away AWG!

The winner of the Chester v Buxton tie will play at Kidderminster in their semi.
If we make it to the final it’ll be at AAGP where we’ve only lost once all season and we all know who that was against!
Six wins in your last six games is the way to do it. Congratulations to them.
Chester went to KLT today with several youth players in the team including an 18yo goalie and won 3-0. If only we’d done that last week.
But our season has been one long “if only”.

Reckon we’ve settled for third place!
If you’re managing the U16 team, don’t put two U11s in the centre of midfield.
So when the result is known let’s be fully behind the Matlock fans on their choice, either way.
Why?

Brackley are at home to Farsley.
The only mathematics you need bother about is how many they’ll win by.
We ain’t going up automatically. Trust me!

As I said on another thread, we’ll finish third. Kidderminster will be Champions.
Chester will win their quarterfinal home game and we’ll beat them again at AAGP in the semis.
Away to Brackley in the final where we’ll lose on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
You certainly don’t have to believe anything, is the earth round or flat?
You could ask Katie Perry but she was looking in the opposite direction!
Or one proper coach?
