Giz a burger 🍔
‘Spot on Pat hence my name on here’ – loved that ‘genesis of awaywego’ anecdote you gave a while back :)
Forget about his distant past, look at the world class recent history!
Well suited here – ‘bunfight at GP!’
but why do you need to look at what Ilkeston are doing, it has nothing to do with Scunthorpe United, we are more interested in what we are doing
Hilton seems more interested in what Ilkeston are doing.
Anyway, Pat and family are well suited to SUFC. We’re big on nepotism here – ain’t that so awaywego?

‘Ilkeston to Hitchin 105 miles
2 hours in a car.
2 1/2 on a coach?17 hour round trip?’
Yes, on a pony and trap.
At that price you can buy your own!
What do Patrick’s big ideas to transform the catering ops at GP entail? Is it possible to get a series of burger vans in to the restaurant?
You can get a can of Carlsberg for 2 quid at Peterborough Sports. Game changer.
Any extras with that? 🤣
Oh dear, from ‘up the Iron!’to ‘we can still say hello as we pass on the stairs to our new leagues…’ within days. The dearth of eggs has really got to you Pat! Got any grapes? Sour ones?

Absolutely no shirkers though
Thinking we need ’11 Bishops’ underestimates the technical skills and abilities some players possess at regional level. Some of the decent and flourishing sides I’ve seen have a good balance and mix of big solid central defenders, full backs with pace / good crossing, one midfield general and skillful attacking midfielders / striker goal machines to complement. Plus a commanding experienced keeper
And those big Cuban cigars favoured by Churchill.

Definitely won’t be any eggs on faces anytime soon. Because there ain’t any!
Missed a trick with his recent PR onslaught. Just needed to say ‘breakfast roll with a drink for £2 everyone!’ and he could have saved all that time and effort.
I’ve no idea what you’re getting at Patrick. But whatever your opinion is, you’re entitled to it. I don’t have much will or desire to engage with a PR exercise. Bye for now.
‘false accounts looking to divide opinion between the majority on here who are loyal Scunny fans’
Talking of ‘false accounts’ I-A, you and other non Twitter users / observers ought to know that a number of new Twitter accounts appeared a few weeks back threatening Iron supporters critical or sceptical of the new owner and suggested plans. Pretty nasty stuff. They came and went pretty fast. Those accounts have since been deleted. Pretty unprecedented stuff as far as I’m aware. Think it’s useful for non Twitter users / observers to be aware of this amd the wider environment.

Quelle surprise! Fact is Patrick, you’ve repeatedly replied to posts on here to forum members who don’t use their names for their user accounts. There’s hardly any that do tbh.

Correct, as far as I’m aware. Happy to admit to that that error, for what it’s worth.

I’ll also add, I’ve seen little (if any) piss taking out of Hilton. I’ve seen plenty of appreciation, scepticism, plans concerns, and references to the past. Patrick has come in for a substantial amount of derision, but he’s a friend of Hilton on a PR mission, he’s not putting funds in, as far as I’m aware.
‘Hilton the man who actually bought the club’.
You mean the man that Swann did a deal with to be completed by 24 May awaywego? He’ll have bought it when the deal is complete, not before, is my understanding.
Not a daft laugh though was it? just plain disrespectful and cheap shots. Nothing to do with bruising easily. Not getting in to a slanging match with either of you and lowering myself to juvenile plays on words, but if you submit numerous posts over a period of time that are either false or disrespectful of people working at the club, and those that tried to save it before Hilton came along, don’t be surprised if posters point it out. As for ‘phoenix club’, nothing to do with it and not my thinking.

Actually, save you digging deeper holes, here’s a recent response from SE replying to someone who said ‘they have no money’:
How do you know that?
All wrong and comments like that without substance or fact, cant remember who paid the wages ??? Oh yes i can it was Ian that saved the club.. get your facts sorted— Simon Elliott (@simonelliott33) April 6, 2023

‘I hear they can put £150 each into a new venture, should be mega’
So, let me get this straight I-A, you and awaywego are implying Elliot and Sharp didn’t have the funds to buy the club, stadium and land? I’ve not seen evidence to support that, so it sounds mightly like one of those conspiracy theories you keep wangin’ on about. If I’ve misinterpreted what your point was, please correct me.

Can you stop at Ilkeston on the way and drop a load of clapping seals off?
When will the wheels be re-fitted securely?
I’m sure he would be laughing I-A, in between flouncing off in a strop. There’s a history of it :)
That’s not very nice awaywego
Axle stands for Rene.
Thousands of people change their names in the UK every year. Some do it to disassociate themselves from past activity, others do it for a laugh :)
