The article you posted seems to be a factual informative piece about the planned strike with comments from all sides. And I’m a Union and Labour Party member.

The headlines be is instantly aimed at telling us how inconvenient it is for us all the wording to ” hit”events is emotive .Factual would be ,Rail strikes set for ,whatever dates but the Biased BBC act like an anti union rag

I ģet your point but I wouldn’t deem it ‘anti’union’, as union member too. They’re in the media game and your alternative headline is a bit bland tbh. The headline they used is emotive, as you say, but it’s also a reality, it will ‘hit’ events, and that’s a good thing IMO. It needs impact. Someone like ‘awaywego’ will read it differently, with his ‘I’m being inconvenienced’ attitude. 🤷‍♂️

I agree with that comment, but then they would be accused of being anti Government by the Tories. They do it all the time and are wrong. The thread shows it’s a difficult job being a BBC editor.

True, it fuels those unsupportive of it but, but then they’d be accused of being The Morning Star.

My elder brother a journalist for 55 years ( yes he’s that old ) has always said ” bad news is good news for selling papers ” can’t say I disagree with him on that one. Of course they have an agenda, it’s called grabbing your attention for either ratings or profit, it’s what journalism is about.

The BBC is mostly liberal, rather than left, though they have devoted a lot of time to appear balanced by appeasing the right. Hence why figures like Farage became ubiquitous without UKIP having any elected MPs at the time* and only interviewing Le Pen in the French elections. I fail to see some left wing agenda when they do stuff like this.

*Compare and contrast that with how the Greens get coverage when they do have an MP and more councillors now.

“As someone who sits firmly in the middle, I am always amazed by some of the comments by people who obviously know very little”.

I’m amazed by how you connected the 2 parts of the sentence together. Do only people who sit firmly in the middle know when people know very little?

The BBC is a left liberal organisation,Neo- Marxist to the extreme, believing in a woke, critical theory,anti- Christian “worldview”.

An honest question, explain the word “Woke”. To me it’s the direct opposite to “Slept”.
Last night I slept, this morning I woke.
Any other definition is straight out of 1984 “newspeak” where definitions are turned on their heads.
    Stay awake. (Present tense).

Countyfile, Antiques Roadshow, 10 Pound Poms.

Hardly 3 hours of critical theory neo-marxist TV is it?

BPG probably still holds a grudge from when they binned “Songs of Praise”!
