I’m not sure we’d be much better off overall if Hill had been in charge since August.

The fact we can actually run around and press for pretty much the full 90minutes instead of just the 30minutes we managed before answers that.

The fact we actually look like a team now is another start contrast to life under cox. If you aren’t sure we wouldn’t be in a better position if Hill was here in august, I worry for you.

How the hell can you not see we would be better off now if he had been here longer ?

It’s amazing you aren’t in charge of a Premier League team WG, the way you see everything in the game so clearly and so easily. Your ability to spot things that people who have worked in the game all their lives miss is incredible.

You’re trying to tell me that you didn’t notice us sitting behind the ball defending within an inch of our lives while Mancini was altering his tactics and bringing on fresh players ?

Why do you have to be a football expert to see that ?. All you had to do was just take notice of what was happening.

I have my eyesight so was able to simply watch it. Many fans said the same regarding Southgate in real time while watching the match unfold.

They all experts as well or did they simply just watch what was unfolding ?

The fat lady hasn’t got out of bed yet, but it’s not looking good.

While she’s still keeping her bits and pieces warm in bed there’s always a chance. I just hope we’re safe before she decides to arise from her slumber to reveal her heavenly body !

0 wins in 8? Aye, we’d never have managed that under Cox!

If you can’t see how far we’ve come “even though for the most part we’ve only had draws” you need to either get laser eye treatment or just give up watching us all together.

This team could barely last 30 mins while pressing the opposition, as your limp hero Super Cox was completely clueless.

Hard enough trying to turn around a squad with limitations but to turn around one who aren’t even match fit this far into the season is another thing entirely.

All we ever heard was “we’ve has a fantastic week in training”. What were they all doing ?. Playing, I spy ?

I remember about Vardy. Pre season friendly he ripped us to shreds in a pre season friendly we enquired about him and was told around 100k would buy him and Knill said the signing for that amount with him being non league was too big of a gamble.

10 years later he’s consistently the best English striker in the premier league lol

Southgate is a great man manager and likable, but questionable strategically.

Bingo !. Standing there gormless while the opposition manager is making proactive adjustments is always going to end up going 1 way and let’s face it, we were lucky to even make it to penalties.

    Bloke tactically is useless.

Ferrite, nothing to do with being wise after the event. You could see him stood there like a clueless pillock just as he did against Croatia in the tournament before.

Everybody could see that in real time. The only person who would have been blind to it would have been Stevie Wonder.

Twice the stupid sod has done this now in following tournaments. That’s no coincidence, he’s tactically clueless.

FA’S wet dream of a manager though, he says all the right things and is as P.C as they come…still doesn’t change the fact that he’s no idea what he’s doing in tight games when the pressure is on and he has to act.

All he does is go like for like “usually subs way too late when they all look knackered” and sticks everybody behind the ball.

Stands on the sidelines in true Alan Knill folderoll style and looks gormless.

I don’t care how now of a man he supposedly was, a chairman should keep a manager on with the record he had for as long as he did and the complete lack of know how to even get the players match fit is beyond forgiveable.

Look at the progress Hill’s made with the same players. A huge shame he wasn’t binned earlier. The squad has it’s limitations but I’d like to think with Hill here much earlier we’d have been a lot better off then we are now.

I’m pretty much certain of it.

    Cox wanted KDT !

Ok maybe the pretending to be a super scout comment was a bit harsh in regards to Big Bad Turan.

I don’t really care whether Cox wanted him or not, one look at his record should have denied him. You seen the state of it ?

Where was the scout recommending not to sign him ?

Any chairman in their right mind wouldn’t have signed off on the deal. Jarvis has been ok at times but he’s another one.

Mick is right, somebody has wrapped his knuckles and his the piggy bank. The quality has gone down ever since our last failed attempt at promotion.

Good players have gone and have gradually been placed with more and more substandard or just ok players, hence why we are where we are !

According to Swann on his interview he said we’d have the embargo to deal with but it didn’t matter because we’d still have the same wage budget regardless so doesn’t really matter.

Only God knows when he’s going to clear it.

The best of the lot was when he was asked about Big Bad Turan, he replied ” he’s not a bad player, it just hasn’t worked here for him”

His record suggests otherwise, he should have never been signed in the first place. Hallam is another one with his injury record, all down to that pillock pretending to be a super scout.

Southgate went into self preservation mode against Croatia in the last tournament and was shown up to be a poor tactician so clearly not learnt anything.

We had everything stacked in our favour including it virtually being a home tournament and still he did exactly the same. Mancini showed some nous and all Southgate did we go ultra defensive while he was being proactive.

Throw into the mix he brought 2 players on cold from the bench to take penalties, 1 hadn’t taken one before and Rashford wasn’t even in good form, both understandably missed.

Germany we beat were shite. Ukraine we should always beat anyway really and against Denmark we were awarded a penalty which wasn’t really a penalty to get to the final and still Southgate was shown up tactically.

Thing is with Southgate is he’s the F.A’s wet dream of a manager…speaks well and is quite possibly one of the most politically correct people on planet earth.

Wilson can play upfront though. Could he be any worse than what we’ve got ?. It appears Hill sees him more of a midfielder though and playing how we’re playing “with essentially 4 cm players” not sure where he’d fit in if he’s not seen as a striker.

Hippo is getting better every game and with Beestin and Perry to come back, still think we have enough in midfield to go and create. Bunn can create providing he stays fit for more than 5 minutes.

Upfront worries me. We have loads of options but they’re all really poor besides Bunn who can play as a withdrawn striker and he’s hardly ever fit.

I still think if we had 2 good strikers at this level, we wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as we are. No doubt we’re light in other areas but upfront is absolutely dreadful.

Turan, O’Neil, Jarvis, Loft “who can’t really be arsed” and Scrimshaw who works hard but never get’s himself in the right areas to score, similar to Jarvis.

Worst collection of strikers we’ve had since I’ve supported us.

If we do fail to stay up it’s definitely the lack of quality strikers will hurt us. Midfield and defence are solid enough, it’s just the last bit you need to score, we don’t seem to have.

Bunn added something the other night, whether he can chip in with a few alongside Jarvis remains to be seen.

I suppose we can try Scrimshaw and Bunn but wouldn’t the ball come back too easily with the lack of height/physical presence ?

I thought Hallam looked really bright in the one game he played up there against Donny in a worthless cup game but not seen him since.

That was one hell of a crazy signing, as soon as he’s dispatched the better.

Scrimshaw should always come before Loft

Thing is we need a goal threat and a clever player up there to link things together. Bunn definitely added something and despite it being very early on, if Bunn is picked as an option upfront then we need a bigger option up there.

Loft, despite being an underperforming pain in the arse still has more chance of scoring than Jarvis. I like Jarvis and would do a job as a foil to a much better striker than himself but we haven’t got one in the building and we need goals.

Jarvis while offering far more to the team in 90 minutes than Loft does, I’d still say if Loft actually turned up then he’d have more chance in scoring than Jarvis.

Jarvis despite his work rate/team work, never usually looks like scoring. Sad state of affairs when I’m thinking about going with Loft despite me wanting to currently strangle him for playing so poorly.

I wouldn’t want to go with Scrimshaw and Bunn either as the ball would be forever coming back. Not sure Hill really rates Scrimshaw as he’s not been getting a look in of late.

    Where’s big bad Turan ?

Going by Hills reaction to the constant question ” could you please tell us about the prospect of the transfer embargo being lifted ? ” it appears he’ll have to wheel and deal.

I’m pretty sure Swann won’t pay up to lift it, can’t see it happening going by what Hill’s been saying.

And although the improvement is quick it was allowed to be so shit for so long that it’s still not happening quickly enough.

Completely disagree. From where we were to now is like night and day, we look unrecognizable in a sense.

I’d even go as far as to say if we had 2 half decent strikers we’d have turned these draws into wins. That’s what will possibly let us down and that’s not Keith Hills fault.

I think with the work he’s down over what, 3 weeks?….has been nothing short of a miracle considering we were a team that were knackered after pressing for 35 minutes.

Togetherness, hard working, much improved fitness, least we look like a football team now and in Hippolyte he’s turned him into what looks like a top end league 2 player. That in it’s self is bonkers.

We seriously need wins I’ll agree on that but Hill’s doing the most he can with a pretty shit hand he was dealt.

Les, Perry is injured “groin” don’t think he’s far away. Davies not sure about. Hallam is a lost cause. Kenyon is 3 weeks away. O’Neil despite him being absolute dog mess, came back 2 weeks ago and broke down again so he’s another lost cause.

Loft was subbed again today, he seriously needs to get a grip of himself because I can’t see anybody wanting him with the way he’s playing. Loft is poor at the minute but on his day “few and far between” he does have the ability to score though.

Jarvis is more consistent throughout the 90 minutes and is a work horse but never really looks like scoring “besides that bullet header”

Bunn sounded like he added something though. I just hope to god Loft pulls his finger out sooner rather than later.

I’d go Loft and Bunn next match. I despite Loft at the moment for the way he’s playing and I like Jarvis but he never looks a goal threat.

If and this is a big if, Loft can somehow turn it around…I still think he’s a bigger goal threat than Jarvis. If we had a better striker then I’d start Jarvis without doubt as he’d be the ideal foil but needs must and we need goals.

This is how bad it is for striker options at this club !

Hill has always set up with a big n nasty up front. I remember Calvin Andrew but he played Aaron Wilbraham as well.

As said above about Loft, he has the build and the stature but played more like a smaller striker…he’s an odd one.

Are there any big n nasties out there ?

I thought the same Vader and when he mentioned wanting a player as back up for Clarke Harris, Loft would fit the bill as he’s a similar sort of stature.

I suspect it’s his agent filling is head full of absolute crap and as a result he thinks he’s way better then what he is because we’ve not seen the same commitment as we saw last season from him.

Loft at the moment is miles off it and he threw his toys out the pram when Hill subbed him after playing crap a few matches ago.

As mentioned on here previously, Hill will find him out if he’s not pulling his weight so he either pulls his finger out and works for a place in the side or he’ll move on in Jan so it’s up to him.

I’ve got a feeling Hill will try and move him on if anybody wants him in January.

I don’t believe he deserves all this wanting away, head in the championship business when Loft hasn’t even made a comment

If he keeps putting in crap performances and doesn’t show the same commitment and promise of last season, then he warrants people questioning him.

I can’t provide a particular club awaywego but there was interest in him, as ironwae stated there was an actual bid that came in for Loft.

No mention of a team though. I remember Cox stating it in a live interview.

I suspect his agent has been in his ear and he’s started to believe he’s much better than he actually is. Comparing him to last season “when I thought he had scope for improvement” he’s regressed.

This version of Loft would struggle to get in a conference side. I’m not even sure this version is even fit enough to clean Jarvis’s boots.

There is a stark difference between 1 striker with less ability but wants to succeed and one striker who’s in his own head is championship standard who can’t be arsed to prove himself anymore.

I don’t think Loft has much desire anymore left in him…he’s deluded.

Jordan Hallam a 2 year deal until June in 2023

That’s one of the most craziest deals we’ve completed. Hallam either needs paying up or loaning out in Jan.

No point at all in keeping a player here who simply isn’t even able to play. May as well just buy a cardboard cut out of an ex footballing great…stick it in the treatment room and use it as a clothes rack.

Utter madness giving him another deal. O’Neil needs to follow him along with Loft “who looks like he’s on his way out”

I’d send Wood back as well to Hull if at all possible. Hackney I’d keep though, he’s at least shown he’s capable.

I don’t think Hill’s too keen either. Loft threw a strop when he was subbed last game. Hill will move him on in Jan and get somebody else in.

Loft has been shite since club were supposed to have been interested in him. I think Loft was asked about his long term future here and he said in so many words that he’s probably going to move on.

    No loss.

I firmly believe if we have our best players available and they get their fitness up to be able to play with that intensity and effort for the bulk of the 90mins then we’ll be alright.

Looked a bit knackered around 65minute mark but fitness will come. Hill has a little over a week with them now and he’ll get more work into them.

The improvement in such a short spell under Hill is just further evidence that Cox should have been axed much earlier.

Team now has a structure to it and a real identity. Fitness levels are visibly improving but still obviously not there yet. Hill get’s the fitness up and we play with that energy for near enough the full 90mins, I can’t see us going down.

Hill jokingly did hint post match that the players would be all claiming to be injured to dodge the training they have coming up and without a game for a fair while, they’ll get a right hammering which is much needed.

I expect to see further improvements upon our next game.

Today Beestin played out of skin, Hippolyte oddly looks a real player in cm and Jarvis really impressed me.

Millen’s defensive work is a bit dodgy at times but has a fantastic delivery on him. Thompson has good energy but prefer O’Malley. I can’t grumble today though as they all did really well for the most part.

I like O’Hara as well in goal. I’d like us to dump Bilson and if we can free up funds, we should sign him if at possible for a nominal fee to battle it out with Watson.

If Jarvis can keep today’s efforts up I’ll have to eat my words because that’s a million times better than what Loft has shown. I hope he keeps it up.

I always did say we had talent here but it was totally mismanaged by Cox. This shows it 100%.

This is a difference between a manager who 100% knows what he’s doing and a 1st timer who’s completely out of his depth.

The players fitness levels under Cox was a piss take. Thank God we’ve got Hill in. I’ve got to admit I like Hill. I hope he stays for the foreseeable future.
