Could this be a classic “Economical with the truth” ???

But the ground hasn’t been sold.
Neither is there a new ground.
The ground has gone to cover pay off of the debt incurred at the club.
1st two questions good and fair questions.
The last question needed a third option. Something like ‘MAYBE, BUT NEED TO FIND OUT WHO IS DECIDING ON RECRUITMENT AND THE CONTRACT LENGTHS THAT LEADS TO SQUAD STABILITY GOING FORWARD.

April 25, 2021 at 4:02 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #205462Perhaps one question that could be asked is why did no player want to go out on loan in the January window ?
And why didn’t we put some out there anyway as it was obvious some were never going to get a chance.
So an improvement on Tuesday then?
Can hear part of the Walsall post match now !!
Did we look leggy ? Whatever that means !!
Need to get some fresh legs back after the debrief !!!Mr Cox’s thursday humberside interview summed up our season. He says he promised the players he would be honest with them. What about the supporters. If several are not good enough why did you keep picking the same failures ? Enough for me.
Question is just how many of the newer professionals will get a chance having not had a chance ALL season. Or will Mr Cox bottle it again ?
Because his latest humberside interview sums up the previous 42 league games !!
We shall now see what the grand plan is !!

Yes is the easy answer.
He would not have accepted the lack of enthusiasm exhibited by some of todays team. Saw him play a few times.
But got to meet Len many times when he was shopping in Ashby, he was very unassuming and a tad embarrassed when you complimented him on his efforts when wearing the IRON shirt.
RIP Len Sharpe
100% what we have missed this season – surely Cox can identify those sorts of players?
Can’t see how we could possibly mess it up more than this season, but I am not too confident.
He wanted Hippolyte ! Doesn’t look promising does it ?
Start with a 3 yr contract plan. We need to stop this every 2 years – all change idea. That there is a proper structure some 3 yr deals, some 2 yr deals and 2 yr deals with options. Likewise 1 yr deals with options based on performance.
The Dom Vose ideas have to stop, and yet we have not learned from it and valuable money resources has been wasted. Not the fans fault and now the budget to be reduced further we must get someone in who really does know what they are doing. Who knows where to invest it.
Adkins may not have been able to motivate some of these but he would not have accepted the performances and others would have got a chance.
Start of the season we were going to develop players. Only Mason O’Malley has achieved that but he has had the opportunity of a lot of games but how many have not a chance ?
Jai Rowe must wonder, he is in does well and gets dropped and why ? because of what I call targeting. Lining up to deal with what opponents will do on so many occasions that we forget that opponents should have to deal with us !
This season has been a bigger farce than last season which was a farce on the season before ! And if their is no apology and change of the philosophy promised get ready for another season of chaos.
Having heard and read his latest post match comments what is the point of anyone showing any interest.
The big plus this season is the gates have been maintained, next season will be a whole different thing. This a mess, the budget is what it is but we need someone who will not accept mediocrity.
The fitness has been a huge issue this season so a full investigation is needed starting there.

So many should have had a chance this season. A run of games is the least they deserved, but not us we pick the same who could not be bothered and now look at the mess !
For a club that stated this season we would be developing players I would hate to have seen a lack of interest !
We used to have a good reputation – now !!!

Ironawe – can’t see many of our ‘development’ players being that interested. Don’t think that many have had an offer.
To watch – not a chance. Even as a 12th Man I stopped watching many weeks ago.
Even despite Mr Cox’s comments after the Morecambe game ! That could have been on any of the 41 games and the common denominator is whoever picks the team, formation and tactics. Now we lose Jordan Clarke who has only just returned from injury, and how many times has that happened this season.
McGahey, Taft, Onoriase they may pass fitness tests but in combat pressures are much higher and then they are out again, and again. And when you look at goals conceded it is not all their fault. Midfielders do not chase back and help. Check that last goal by Forest Green – look at McGahey and Tafts face, they don’t know where to cover next. They get no help.
Tonight I am expecting some surprises in selection especially on the bench. I will say what I think after team sheet released.
Tonight 442, side passes virtually non-existent and on the front foot at EVERY opportunity. Time for the coaching text book we use to be binned and that black folder in the dugout to be shredded and never to reappear.

Not so much ‘who to lose’ more like who is left !!
And not many on what I am hearing. Could be besides Beestin and O’Malley getting contract extensions the only remaining players are those with a remaining year. It really is that bad.
I doubt he’ll go with Barks as we have Mcgahey fit again.
I’m still a bit nervous. I personally think we should probably go with McGahey in a bid to be as strong as we can at the back, in the hope of nicking one more win to fully guarantee our safety.
Once we “hopefully” get that win…then throw Barks along side Taft. I wouldn’t be against giving Jessop a go upfront with Loft once he’s back from injury and see how they get on.
I still think Hornshaw has something to off in CM as well. I would stick him alongside Beestin and Karacan.
May as well give these players a go.
Hornshaw has no chance of playing just back on the grass having undergone surgery – ring a bell !
Getting the impression that there may be some surprises on the subs bench.
If any of these premier division clubs have signed a document to breakaway they should be immediately relegated to the bottom of league 2.

We may not have been challenging for promotion but I am sure we would not be in this situation.
The issues are targeting – stop setting up to deal with opponents !
Stick to 4 4 2.
Stop putting recently injured players straight back in the team – how many times this season have we seen players get injured within a couple of games !
Stop selecting the same failures week after week !
Give the ignored, the forgotten few a chance. Why can’t they be a success.3 users thanked author for this post.
Would ‘experienced’ players get the message if they started the game but on the bench are the ignored, the forgotten ?
Tell them they have the first 45 to show if some deserve the second half !!
If they don’t then from the 55th minute the substitutions start. Lets see if there is any pride there if they deserve paying. Time for hitting ego’s.

I think Hippolyte was a Cox choice.
Fine by me. Not what it was.
You all know my thoughts on the 1st and 2nd year pro’s.
We don’t develop anymore and gain the benefit log term and it is getting worse.
Hippolyte has another year and Tom Pugh has not had a chance and I know who would battle for the club and shirt.442
Pass forwards every time. Jessop Up top. Joey Dawson is an attacking midfielder.Where do we start ?
The Karacan interview was very informative. Defended the manager but did question our recruitment that the delivered the majority of what arrived.
That simply are not good enough, although Cox wanted Hippolyte !! Noses need putting out of joint – it isn’t too late.

Howe is contracted at Blackpool until 2022. Cannot see us paying a fee.
Rowe, Butroid, Hornshaw, Pugh, Jessop, Barks, Jessop, Shrimpton, Silva are all out of contract – how many will be here next season ? I fear not many. We don’t develop our own these days to regular first team duty. So I cannot see Joey Dawson signing a contract, even more so when you look at the opportunities all of the above have had this season.
Mick Buxton gave young players a chance when there was a downturn of fortunes – Mr Neil Cox got his chance, Richard Hall got his chance as did Graham Alexander. How come these young pro’s never got a chance ?
Never been so disappointed in the management this season over this.
1 user thanked author for this post.
Mr Dawson certainly does have potential, lots of it.
He is the type that bigger clubs would love the opportunity to improve
If he is a wonderkid it will be an act of footballing and financial negligence if he leaves without a fee. Given the state of some of our forward play, he should have been encouraged to stay and sign a contract through regular first team action.
There are 17 year olds playing international football!! Keegan had 124 appearances up to the age of 20.
He can’t leave without some sort of settlement as a contract offer has been made but it will be nowhere what we should be looking forward to.
