Annoys me that so many goalies are willing to sit on a bench taking a wage rather than playing.careers are short such a waste of talent
Aye! Why would Scott Carson stay and bench-warm at City when he could come to the SVS?
The USA used to be the most forward thinking nation on earth. Now it’s one of the most backward thinking.
These people are not pro-life, they are just pro-birth. They don’t give a toss about the child’s welfare once it has left the womb, and if it turns out to be disabled or LGBTQ+ heaven help it!

Few new ones at training today…
Joe Bunney
That’s the mascot sorted. Now for the team!

A bit like misunderstanding the plot of Cymbeline then?
Thing is, if you don’t believe any of it then it just sounds like a book-club meeting.
I feel next season could be like life during wartime!

PC McGarry as head of security?
Until we know what Swann’s asking price is and what it includes, most of this is conjectural.

You can’t get more substance than lard!
Trialists A to I then?

Oven chips are the false prophet of deep-fried, potato-based foodstuffs.
A true believer grows his own Desirees, peels them, cuts them and deep-fries them in lard.
McCain is a charlatan!
I’d say that a large part of being a *Christian is about preaching and proselytising.
*Other religions are available. See terms and conditions.

Au contraire, Rodney!
The religious believe THEY can do whatever they want, and as long as they say “sorry” on their deathbed everything is hunky dory.
There’s nothing more totalitarian than religion.
I think Lesgeo was hoping to have some players in for the start of pre-season.
But part of the fun of pre-season is trying to work out the identity of Trialist A, Trialist B etc.
Then wondering why the good ones have been sent back and the dross offered a two year contract!

Excuse me for being thick, but why eight days?
Most contracts aren’t up until 30th.
The Communism that you’re on about was a revolutionary “fix” to a major political problem.
Could you have seen the Romanovs gradually devolving power?
The Russian Revolution was a historical first. Don’t forget that.
But as we know from reading Orwell and other dystopian novels, once you have the populace believing in the State without questioning it, then you control their minds and bodies.
If the State is run by unscrupulous officials who want to be “more equal than others” then they can literally get away with murder!
In historical hindsight perhaps it should only have been a short term fix, rather than an ideology, but Russia is a huge place.
It’s all about control, and it’s not unique to Communism. It’s the same for any totalitarian regime.
It is also what religion is all about. Believe what you are told without question. Do as you’re told not as your leaders do.
I personally have never heard any young people saying “we’ve never really tried Communism”.
More likely to hear them say “I’ve never really tried Soya milk”!
Pollocks!
Guiseley fans said he was ‘class’
Was that the same Guiseley that finished bottom of NL(N) and were relegated, or a different Guiseley?
He’ll fit right in here if it was.
And we won’t miss any of them!

15 man squad?
Whoopsie do!
Well that Cinderella fits the glass slipper!

No one is doubting his ability.
Rather questioning the logic of putting together a completely inexperienced young squad to be lambs to the slaughter.
It’s a tough league with tough players.
If you reckon an U18s team can compete then I’d think again.

I think that was more like 68 I-A, but you’re right.
What wouldn’t we give to be able to choose from Deere, Welbourne and Atkin in defence?
No, you’re right. It’s still a bag o’ shite!
Yep. Don’t we already have a teenage keeper?
The Cods didn’t need a settling in period once they’d outed Fenty.
It was like winter turning into spring.

PC Reg Wood used to live opposite us and his two daughters used to walk me to school on Gurnell St when I was 6/7 years old.
There’s a book called Scunthorpe in Old Photographs by David J Taylor. On page 118 is a picture of the model traffic area with PC Wood pointing out the fundamentals of the pushbike to a group of children. Yours truly is on the far right!
He was a recipient of the British Empire Medal I believe (Reg Wood, not me!).
Still got my badge btw.
Funnily enough, no!
You really need to get out more Renee.

Quick Pass office was opposite the players/officials entrance to the OSG just along Hendy Ave.
When I did my test I parked up in the bays there just as Kevin Keegan and Mick Atkin were coming out. KK recognised me as one of the lads you used to hang around trying to blag complementary tickets at away games, and asked me how I got on. Thumbs down 👎
It was ten years before I resat, passing the test driving an R reg Marina which Mrs NI had inherited from her dad who was a sales rep for Heinz.
Did some lovely pirouettes in it on icy roads, and of course it eventually collapsed in heap of rust whereupon we upgraded to an Escort XR3!
