Apart from the Oldham signing of Hogan was there anymore in the National League, and I believe there has been quite a few, but we rarely sign anyone in May or June, and if we do we don’t announce them until their contracts end at the beginning of July.

leIt is almost impossible for Scunny signings, the club has no money, they are a low wage payer, they have just been relegated out of the football league, the club owner has no interest in the club what so ever, there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the clubs continued existance, and have just ended the season in last place in the bottom football league miles below any other team with a no win record of 17 matches, so who the hell is going to sign for our club????. There are not too many Turans about that are available. The club has nothing to offer any player that has any sorts of skills or ambition, THANK YOU SO MUCH PETER SWANN.

    This bit is interesting:-
“In a statement made by the Oldham Athletic board in the aftermath of relegation to the National Conference, they accepted responsibility for relegation which “represents a total failure” and that the budget for next season will remain the same.”

If the budget is the same but restrictions are lifted then it will allow Hill to wheel and deal as he wishes.

Unless an apology/acceptance of responsibility will reinstate our EFL status then no. It’s just words.

Only one thing the person responsible for the clubs situation can do to help the club regain EFL status.

We all know what that is but for the couple of posters that might be struggling with it the second word is off.

Oldhams board have accepted the blame for relegation
Oldhams board have affirmed their budget will be the same
    Oldham have begun signing players

    Can you see the differences?

I see York have signed Scott Boden from Boreham Wood, always been decent at National League level, but at Glanford Park……

Hill or Will? Also, you’ve got to be kidding if you’re suggesting either would be able to wheel and deal as they wish. Is there an unlimited budget?

Hippolyte’s signed a 2 year deal with Stockport. Must be doing something right there. Worked out well for him.

Let’s hope we don’t sign that Starker bloke, complete open goal today and couldn’t even get a shot away against lame opposition.

Others are saying the opposite (his last point did leave the Tories silenced).

    Anyway, non-footy! ;-)

    Right then.
This is the week when, those clubs taking things seriously, start to hammer their side into shape.
I assume that KH and LT have finished their holidays and now they can get stuck in.
The side should be more or less in place over the next 12 days.

Incidentally, are we expected to be pursuing Érico Henrique Esteves de Sousa?

Can’t see us signing de Sousa. Would eat up half the player budget putting hi name on his shirt.

Just ‘Eric’ would be OK. Some Cods rate him.

How come the Cods haven’t offered him a new contract?

Should have said “some Cods fans” as clearly the manager doesn’t see him as L2 standard.

Saw all 3 playoff games and a couple of the Cods league games and he was decent to good in all of them. Read somewhere from Cods fans that the final pass/shot is what lets him down and there was evidence of that.

Like many players at this level it is the final piece that stops them being Championship or League 1 players and keeps them at this level.

If we have a sqaud the same calibre as last season he would play every game.

He’d be a fairly sizeable upgrade on any wide player from last season. Sign him up!
