As the weather of late has had a sultry, warm Continental air about it, I have been taking my evening chill out with a liberal helping of accordion!

    Third party reporting, but yes!

Nevs obviously thinks the Theatre of Dreams is now a Punch & Judy booth.

What I picked up on was the absentee landlords bit. Mind you the USA is a bit further away than Retford!

“When a business is failing and not performing, it is the owner of that business’ fault. It is failing miserably.

Now they have a decrepit, rotting stadium that is second rate, when it was one of the best.

You’ve got a football project where they haven’t got a clue. You can look at the players and managers all you like, but there are bigger things that need to be put right.

They have to show up and face the music. The club is rotten.”

Was this written about a) Scunthorpe United. b) Manchester United. d) Derby County?

    Answers on a postcard please.

“Another possibility Rofer pointed to is that Trump could have retained his nuclear “biscuit”, a piece of plastic like a credit card with the identification codes necessary for nuclear launch.”

    Shouldn’t that be nuclear “cookie”?

    Ah! Pretzel Logic. Memories!

Mid seventies and I found myself one day in the presence of a very attractive young lady who said she’d just bought this record by a group called Steely Dan, and asked if I liked them.

Despite having heard next to nothing of their stuff I lied through my teeth. There upon I was invited back to her place to listen to it! And to quote Bryan Ferry, “Dim the lights, you can guess the rest!”

It wasn’t a long standing romance, but some years later when I started dating Mrs NI guess what was lurking in her record collection?

I’ve been wondering about this too.

Sky Sports App has EFL highlights within a few hours. Not so with NL!

Yesterday I got a SS notification around 5:00pm saying “team lineups announced”. Clicked on my phone app and nowt. “Commentary” basic too with just goals, bookings and substitutions recorded.

BBC hadn’t updated the table after our game until around 10:00pm and poor old NL(N) still haven’t!

I guess it’s something we’ll have to get used to now we’re non-league.

The starting XI could only draw with Farsley after an hour before all ten outfield players were subbed.

    We still need those forwards!

    But beat Sheff Utd….

An the guy who scored a brace hasn’t been seen since!

Indeed Awaywego. With a Chester FC pal.

Old fashioned, away fan friendly clubhouse with cheap beer, although you had to go out to one of the catering vans parked up in the concourse for hot food.

Having said that you get some decent fish and chips in town (the one by the harbour gets a good write up (can’t remember it’s name).

Then for a night out on the sauce Whitley Bay and Tynemouth are just down the road.

Always go to the Congleton Jazz & Blues Festival August Bank Holiday.

In previous years it has just happened to coincide with games at Port Vale and Macclesfield.

Hoping this year we’d be playing someone like Altrincham, but no such luck!
