Fully agree with the OP but in my view it’s several weeks too late. The damage has been done!

Supermarket chains are streamlining their operations. News this weekend of Waitrose making cutbacks. So I don’t think the land is as valuable as when Swann transferred it to Coolsilk.
Would be interesting to know what the land is registered as and how likely change of use could be implemented.

Don’t think so. Retail land isn’t as valuable as it was a decade ago.
More likely he was feeling the love from the good folk of Ilkeston and thought he could repeat same at a club higher up the pyramid.
