Is one of the raffle prizes a football club?
Actually I’m struggling to remember the last time we won a tie in any cup competition.
Anyone know when that was?
September 20, 2023 at 9:55 am in reply to: So. Either DH Has Put Loadsa Money Into The Iron or He Has Not. #272875I’ll say one thing for him. It’s only taken him eight months to realise he’s cocked-up, not eight years!

Weren’t some people saying it wouldn’t be a disaster if we were out of the competition?
Concentrate on the league and all that!

Arrrgh! Too much information!
I’m not going to let them spend my money on a food bank NI, That’s not really how the trust is supposed to work according to their rules, what their doing if that be the case is running a closed shop. And not turning up on Saturday says a lot on how interested they sre.
Absolutely pathetic!

Canvey Island: the Thames Delta.
The home of Dr Feelgood too.
We could do it on milk and alcohol!

Not clever enough for the Monster Raving Loony Party. Which is why she’s a Tory!

My emails probably in the same place yours is when wanting a statement 64, if the Iron Trust just followed their rules I wouldn’t need to ssk. Members got the newsletter that NI up and the rest of us got diddly squat.
Then join the Trust then. It’s cheap enough for a life membership.
Then you’ll be up to speed and can email them as often as you like.
FFS!
Another pointless thread started which will no doubt run to 3/4 pages of repetition.
We’re all capable of thinking for ourselves without some bystander telling us how!
Last IT newsletter was before the Buxton game:
“We need to update Trust members on the situation regarding Glanford Park and its status as an asset of community value (ACV).. Earlier this week the Trust received a letter from North Lincolnshire Council telling us that they had had notification from Mr Swann informing them of his intention to sell Glanford Park. The main content of the letter is copied below.
“ASSET OF COMMUNITY VALUE – intention to sell
The Sands Venue Stadium, Scunthorpe United Football Club
I write to inform you as the nominator of the above property as an Asset of Community Value of the owner’s intention to Sell notification
received on 31 August 2023.I must advise you that because the property is on the council’s Assets of Community Value list , the following moratorium periods will now commence:
Initially there is an interim moratorium period of six weeks during which an eligible ‘community interest group’ can submit a written request to be treated as a potential bidder for the property.
The written request should be marked for my attention and sent to the address above,
This interim moratorium period commences on 31 August 2023
and ends on 11 October 2023. If such a request is received then the next stage commences, but if no such request is received then the owner is free to sell the property. The full moratorium period of six months is triggered if a valid written/email
request is received. This period is intended to give the community group
time to assemble a bid and, if successful, complete the purchase. However, the owner is not obliged to sell to the community group. The full moratorium period will end on 28 February 2024
.
There is a protected period of eighteen months during which the owner is
free to sell the property without further delay if no community group has submitted a written/email request and/or pursued it through to completion of the purchase within the relevant moratorium periods.”The Iron Trust board is meeting this coming week to discuss this letter and we will then contact all members again to set out our our thoughts on the situation. It is worth reminding ourselves that Mr Swann didn’t have to activate the ACV process when he sold the club to Mr Hilton as it was sold as a going concern.
As ever we are keen to have your views on this. We will be at Trust corner from around 2pm today or you can reply to this email giving your thoughts.”
Could it be played on that free Saturday (30/9/23)?
Or is there yet another FA qualifying round scheduled for then?
I hate being in the NL!

If things are as bad as it appears then how on earth did he pass the “fit and proper” test?
Still a lot of unanswered questions out there.
“I started my support in the very early 1970’s when times were bad but never as dire as today.”
If this was all playing out in the early 70s things would be very different.
No social media, mobile phones or the internet. Not even Ceefax! Just the Evening Telegraph and the bloke down the pub. And those of us living out of town wouldn’t even have had that!
No one would have known it was all over until the fat lady was on her second chorus!

Isn’t this back to where we were when everyone wanted Swann out?
September 15, 2023 at 10:45 am in reply to: The most important post on this board for a long time? #272216There’s no reason to suspect IB has any connection whatsoever with Swann. All he’s ever done is presented facts.
But as I said on another thread, you don’t know who is presenting facts and who is spreading rumours!
That’s why I don’t post as often as I used to. Getting sick of the 4/5 page threads full of ifs, whats and maybes.
£3 million to pay off Swann.
How much to set up a Phoenix Club and get it to the level we are now?
Higher? Lower? Good game, good game!
We gotta have faith!

Why do people always want something for nothing,it’s up for sale maybe the trust could buy it.
With what?
A handful of enamel badges and a shirt raffle?

Hope LK was watching!
After trawling through four pages of comments on this I have come to the conclusion that nothing has changed since Swann put the club up for sale.
We still haven’t been “saved” as yet!
The upturn in fortunes on the pitch is a welcome distraction, but merely papers over the cracks.
He did make a wrong decision NI he called time on 94 mins.
Indeed he did, then reversed that decision. But who or what caused that?
Allowing the result to stand would have been tantamount to saying the ref made a wrong decision.
And that would never do, would it?
I was paraphrasing the old gag, “Religion is like a penis. We know you have one and are most likely fond of it. But keep it zipped up and don’t go waving it in our face!”

Siderite – “I don’t think we need God to explain it”.
If there is no God, who cares what you think?
You can’t function without stealing from a Christian worldview.Christianity is stolen from earlier religions, so that argument holds no water!
