Big well done to lads on the victory .. some positives .. especially scoring 3 goals in a game since .. god knows when ..hang on was it Oldham last season ??

if no intention of repairing the deceased scoreboard then it should be removed .. bit of an embarassment really.. a new one installed in the corner would be a better idea , suppose its down to budget again ..or lack of any plan to maintain the fixtures n fittings of GP…much the same as the team… one swallow doesnt make a summer as my old gran used to say.

Gainsborough trinity have signed Clayton Donaldson top scorer for York city last season… what a signing that is for their level… well done Bish!!

Meanwhile we’ve got one striker who might or might not score at national league level next season… crazy!!

Indeed an impressive signing and as you say its very worrying still all quiet on the striker front at GP.. comorm Keef get yer finger out

Just seen a piece on Talk Tv and some BBC bint jouralist slating the England womens team after their magnificent 8 nil win to reach the quarter finals .. apparently the team is TOO WHITE and lacking diversity as all player fielded and on the subs bench were white.. this is a BBC employee the national TV provider and IMO her statement is ridiculous … what next the Nigerian WC side side is too black… YCMTSU

WE NEED STRIKERS ATTACKERS … ok get Butterfeild in agreed but then an absolute must is 2 forwards who come complete with pace, experience , a decent goal return / game rate and some shooting boots

Beggars cant be choosers as my old gran used to say .. the situation is getting bleaker n bleaker by the day and these signings are at bet ok ,, likely injury worries over Whitehouse and Nithe are a concern and the squad remains woefully short in some areas notably attack and with Hills budget just where will one or preferably 2 come from. Time will tell lets see where we are at after the first 6 real NL games are done , not pre season warm up friendlies that mean buggar all.

in reference to the current situation at SUFC i cannot think of one remotely positive comment to make regarding anything… its all doom gloom and despair and its all down to one person whose actions over the last few years has destroyed our once great little club.

My planned trip back to Blighty has been dampened by the turmoil and subsequent relegation to non league where i think we will linger for many years to come such is my optimism UNTIL new owners and a whole new set up can be completed … in fact if the Iron get promoted Cod style first time round i will gladly walk from GP to the town center wearing only a flowery hat flip flops and a smile.

It’s like the replica kit saga another absolute shambles. Who dreams up these own goals time after time?

The hardcore home support base is down by two thirds of what is was under Graham Alexander.

It’s like somebody sits there thinking what can we possibly do to piss another tranche of supporters off. Hey look we have served up some absolute drivel on the pitch for a few years and they are still here.

Look 30 miles up the road and it’s a different story on and off the field, Ernest Pawn needs to go so people can be brought in with commercial nous and good business acumen.

Our club stinks from top to bottom and I cannot think of a single positive for some considerable time. My loyalty to Scunthorpe United is paramount and unwavering but I dislike everything about the club.

I will not be driven away by the egotistical narcissist wanker responsible.

PS I won’t be buying a replica shirt anyway it’s f……g embarrassing being an Iron supporter without advertising it.

Nail on the head time .. Mr Mrs Third or fourth Gender Ironking couldnt agree more from your first to last word…

Its It’s going back a few years but I don’t remember the Alty fans being over friendly when they dumped us out of the FA cup.

Joe Neenan’s infamous knee the bullying centre forward in the bollocks and give away a penalty moment.

Yep it was an evening ko if i recall correct , i was there and they went on to draw Liverpool in the next round

Over 20 quid in the NL seems a tad steep to me .. saying that im out of touch with prices in Blighty. Does anyone have the prices for other clubs .. meaning the cheapest club and the most expensive , im guessing it will average out at around 15 16 quid ???
My last visit to the UK i think i paid about 12 or 13 quid to get in GP .. trying to recall my the days of going to TOSG and how much i paid ..alas where as my love for Scunny is still ever present my memory is giving up nowadays.

Pleased to finally get another player signed and IMO Whitehouse fits the requirements on experience and part of the spine the team needs .. not overly fussed re his goal scoring due to the position he plays BUT my only concern he has a bad injury record and no good being sidelined for weeks or months.
As previously commented ..desperately need a Keeper (Ohara still free ?? ) and strikers with a plural S .. oh and more additions to that spine and wingers and a right back and ……… yhe list can go on , i reckon we are minimum 5 signings more away from a team that could at least hold its own in the NL.
Many other lower league and non league clubs seem to be signing at will ..the Cods for one im sure the current long running toxicity at the club isnt helping entice players to come

Hoping for more to come in ovEr the next few days ..PLEASE

A few words to describe my thoughts on the fixture list .. DEPRESSED DEFLATED SAD UNINSPIRED.. the fact this league or lower could well / will be our home for many many years compounds my grief.

Mean while back the club war room Hill n Co are still waiting for those “value” signings to appear as are the fans.

Almost everyone on here was of the same opinion when Hill was appointed.

That he was the best available manager at the time (let’s leave Adkins out of it!).

The stats since he took over says it all. The malaise at Scunthorpe United runs far, far deeper than the head coach and his team.

I have a plan to build an extension at the back of the house, but I’m not going to get it done by salvaging breeze-blocks from a builder’s skip!

Good post … i would add the appointed site foreman for your extension build must take some resposibility for the selection of poor employees and shoddy outcome.

Re signings …the silence is deafening, i keep logging into the website in the hope of a major signing an experienced player or 2 or 3 or 5 being enticed … alas nothing , na ..nada…just chatter about trials n possible loan deals via Rochdale of course.

It aint looking very promising at the moment guys

On the basis that KH must be sacked even if he should succeed with his ‘new squad’ – we might as well sack now as failure is the only possible outcome having seen how sparse this squad is.
As we have apparently reached a point where only the insane, the unhinged or the downright crazy would accept the post – do please give a rational explanation as to who is going to manage this shambles after his departure.

Not sure it counts as a rational plan but the history books show how keen Swann has been quick to sack other managers who had a much better points tally ratio than our current chap at the helm..
For me it just shows that Swann has washed his hands of the club installed Turnbill as his mouth piece lakky and now is just after out via a sale or liquidation as either way he wins ,,,hes doesnt give a toss about whose in charge as its of no interest to him… my rational is why keep Hill this is gonna turn into another protracted disaster as was Cox. Yes agree wtf would replace Hill .. i cannot even think of anyone stupid enough to want the job also with the club in his current state of limbo.. IF Hill is to be believed and has a plan lets be having it out in the open and see some players signing as without we are proper fooked this coming season.

I totally supported Hill arrival but you can only go on what he has achieved ..relegation and a very poor win ratio possibly the worst of any Scunny manager in historymeans my opinion has shifted and i see him as some one just along for the ride collecting his salary , he made some really strange selection decisions , players not wanting to play and shows little ambition , talks in cliches and sucks up to Swann to prolong his pay check. , we wont get anywhere with his youth only plan as it stands now..

Thats my opinion and rational .. in truth would the club be better without swann ..yes please most definately ..new owners a must … without hill i dont think it would change much hes been crap and i would take Ronald Macdonald over him now at least he might be able to land a few new players as it appears Hill n Co cannot unless they are from Rochdale , Tranmere or some how connected which leads me to say .. how much have we fallen that we are crying out for Rochdale rejects and has beens to be signed .. reiterates just how shit we really are.

Whatever team we field next season ..i sahll offer my 100% support i hope the youngsters can get us enough points to stay up ..alas a Cod style promotion push isnt on the cards IMO

the Club knows fans are worried yet remains totally tight lipped on everything except advertising streams to relieve them of their hard earned cash .. season tickets to restaurant hospitality when all we want to know is THE PLAN or at least regular updates not this total radio silence.. seems to me obvious that the owners /those running this shambolic situation of a club dont really give a shit about the fans at all.. and as for Hill having a plan .. thats a joke his plan from day one was to keep his job as long as possible, he has zero affinity with the club and IMO doesnt give a toss just stumbling from one cliche filled excuse to another whilst sucking Swanns ball sack along the way to extend his working life before job seekers .

Crap clueless manager get rid ASAP.

Im expecting a few signings from now on as more player become available … waiting with baited breath to see just who the messiah Hill lands.

The Cods signed Maher (check i got the name correct) from Halifax so maybe Taft isnt on their radar now ??.. in truth he Taft has been and still is crap.
The total lack of any updates and info from the club is a slap in the chops to fans especially those who have forked out for a season ticket already .. a few pics of player in a gym doesnt really cut it IMO.
Waiting anxiously for the flood of signings and then the NL fixture list coming out to see where the first few games will be…not that it makes too much difference , just hope we havent got Nil points after 5 fixtures played.

Speaks volumes … whilst all around football clubs notably in L2 (WALSAL CODS AS EXAMPLES) and NL (WOKING ALDERSHOT) are signing players at will nary a whisper of any action at SUFC, the Parker pen is primed ready for the rush of last minute signings and the book of Hill cliches open and on chapter entitiled
“New players must say this to the media”…
its great to be here .. a dream move for me.. it was great to meet the BOYS a great bunch of lads.. the gaffa has told me my role hes a great guy we go back along way.. i want to get the club back on track ..its will take time but im fit determined and ready to play anywhere… money was not an issue .. the chairman seems like a really nice guy whose heart is in the club.

Note in case of emergency fire exits to the rear , left and right ..

Up the creek without a paddle and the boat has sprung a leak .. it aint looking good and a very tough season awaits

be lucky to a mass 8 signings in the next 12 months not a few days … by then we will be dropping into the Conference North.

I simply cant see any righ minded semi decent pro footballer even contemplating coming to Scunny

    Pros
Hang on need time to think
Guaranteed a first team spot ..if fit
Nice new apartment in the fantastic new development built next to the ground ..oh scrub that !!

    Cons
    Toxic state of the club
    Ownership limbo
Crap wages due to a budget lower than most others in the NL
uncertain Future re the club even remaining in business
Being a non league club players will sign for any club that is in the league.
The beach in Scunny isnt that nice and the high st and night life is drab
Having to listen to Hills BS on a daily basis and the solid promise of being played out of position then told your just not good enough at this level.
The smell of Drapolyne nappy rash cream emminating from some of the younger players that form the back bone of the side.
Getting thumped every week by former footballing power houses like Aldershot and Barnet
The perminent doom n gloom .. dark clouds over the town are the norm
Swann n family AND yes man Hill.
Boycie must have had one too many sherries or just very desperate to come back home ..

    please add any ive missed

    WHERE DO I SIGN ????

Henceforth im prediction not a lot of action re players coming in .. also the likes of Taft will be going..

    Thanks Peter
