To ground share would be disastrous to the club, nearly 1400 season ticket holders wouldn’t all be able to travel and non season ticket holders wouldn’t go out of their way to either.
I don’t think people always realise how important the force of habit is for keeping people going to games. Break that and you will soon see a drop-off. Fans are creatures of habit, their routines are important, whether it’s where they drink pre- or post-match, where they park, when they head out to the game. Change that and you can easily see people find other ways to spend their Saturdays.
Absolutely … bang nail on the head ferrite .. playing anywhere else other than GP (until the new 12k stadium is opened in 2 years 55555) would destroy the fan base and the club.

Those were the golden olden days Awaywego i recall the away days vividly alas times have changed as have my waistline and lightening quick reflexes especially since i became a monk….
Im hoping to get back to blighty at some point be good to meet up for a game n a pint or 3 and i can cure your lust for feather ruffing through meditation.1 user thanked author for this post.
Is this an opportunity for IB or Ruuger to infiltrate the holy land GP ??

I notice no salary mentioned for the lucky big eared winner.
My prediction re sponsoring GP bog seats still stands

Not intimating this sort of YT content is to my liking but i came across it and the guy mentioned being both in the away end at Tamworth and the landlords sad demise , i wasnt suggesting subscription
I also spotted another new channel ” Claret n Blue Army ” where some young lads had done a vid on their BMX ride to Gaindboro for the friendly….Too much time on on line atmo as monsoon season has kicked in and its proper pissing down everyday hours on end so living / working from my office to miss the carnage… not seen or had to listen to my missus who is several hours away at home which is a bonus ..theres always a positive , miss my two Jack Russells tho i do face time zoom with them most days.
Seems this fella has been issued tickets for the home end at Tamworth…includes a nice mention of the sad passing of Dave the landlord of the pub in Winterton.
just a thought and i dont know if this still happens in UK but … Scunny fans in away end , Scunny score im sure Tamworth have a few fans who may voice their displeasure resulting in a possible altercation ,, Scunny getting fined or fans banned from away games would not be good.
Young n daft i once did the away end gig at Port Vale didnt end well…older n wiser now im hoping Iron fans dont end up where they should not be.
I certainly dont want this to end with a Phoenix club akin to Macc town and Bury and any other option would be better …alas ground sharing would decimate the club mainly for the financial reasons already mentioned.
Im hoping a deal can be done between Swan n DH (or the courts) for us to stay at GP..the dream of a new ground in 2 years is that just a dream and sheer folly to think otherwise.I despise Swan for what he has done to the club at the same time wary of DH u turns and the future but its the hand weve been dealt so lets see if its jackpot or bust… folding isnt an option but a distinct possibility if DH walks away
i use quite a few different forums some business some pleasure and the Bru purely cos i love SUFC
On every forum ive noticed there are members who are best avoided … see there username and just dont click on their all too predictable contributions.. its not burying my head in the sand, or the fact the members posts may be true accurate or false its just an agenda forms which rightly or wrongly gradually turns very tedious for members not wishing to hear this wash rinse repeat cycle.
IB …IMO you are firmly in this category and your constant posting purely to discredit DH via his past companies should as suggested (and you asked) be best placed in the NON football section thus giving members like myself who dont think your contributions are not helping the club in any way the option not to see your posts mingled in with football chat.

just appeared on SUFC website all tickets for Tamworth away now sold out and seems the home club are not making anymore available … thats as of now but will that change as i read that in the past another section of the ground was used for away fans in large numbers..
750 gone ..great effort
What number did Kelly wear?
15
I think this guarantees being champions by Christmas
You been on the turps again D66

ive got the newbies face recognition via the training pics on the SUFC website ..but not a clue on squad /shirt numbers .. who has been the captain in the friendlies so far ??
In NLN shirt /squad numbers are optional so it may be a case no fixed numbers allocated to players thus probably making it difficult for the live commentary without numbers.
Some super combination moves in the second half but the tackling will be much heavier in real games.
Thought Rance played a decent role in the first half and this was taken over by Clunan in the second half who may have been half a notch better.
Interesting to see Shrimpton get so much time on the pitch. And Boyce getting plenty of minutes is surprising me a wee bit.
Clunan was touted to be a great signing by KL fans ..in fact if i recall all the newbies that arrived with glowing endorsements ..down to JD n his team to get them playing as a cohesive unit.
Seeing plenty of NLN goals in this side coming from numerous areas not just the forwards.
Will have abetter idea after the remaining pre season fixture which should prove a sterner task.

Always nice to wake up to a Scunny win ..an away win ..dont happen often and 6 nowt made me do a double take head shake.
Ogle back great to see still sporting the mullet along with a new mooshtache
I take it Roberts and Butters were rested ?Still pondering who will be club captain and first choice keeper .

What had the horse done wrong IFA twoud loved to have seen that lol.
The horse gimme a real nasty look as 555555 i refused to move aside on the hill outside the Shay the plod on board got the horse to swing its head into me so i head butted it back then i got lifted ..literally .. i was proper bladdered like had a few pints of scrumpy..

simmo won 4.2 mil quid and was on the front page of the Sun stood in a wheelie bin.. his ex missus went after him for a lump n i heard he moved to Donny or Sheffield…. hey how we could do with a crazy Iron fan to win that sort of cash now ..
Halifax away was daft ..i got nicked for head butting a police horse (UTI) n some mates waited for me till they let me out at 2am YOUNG N DAFT
Shrewsbury away was also a smashing day out.

Nice to hear a bit of positivity re some of the new signings impressing and also the Ilkeston folks speaking well of DH .. great to hear that a Pat n Awaywego bromance looks to be blossoming as well.. 555 onnee kiddin
Imagine in the future Swan returning and mingling with Iron fans ..carnage .. i wouldnt piss in his gob if his tongue was on fire!!
Jingles …. that name rings a bell…
i recall TJS just odd Scotter bottom was one rental place and i drew the short straw to drive a shitty old white Leyland van away to either Darlo or Hartlepool.
Didnt one of the Scunny fans at that time win the lottery ?? Simmo a bin man if i recall correct.
After all the pre season fixtures are done n dusted and we get to the meaningful footy for points n jobs then IMO Tamworth away is a very difficult first fixture that i shall now very prematurely predict to end in a draw .. a score draw to be more accurate… 2-2
Followed by the Petboro home fixture which is a real six pointer and the first MUST WIN game of the season (joke) seriously we really have to win that one surely !!..
I must admit to being a tad envious Skelly has got the mad van back in action and i cannot go
VAR is tosh .. as already mentioned only decent aspect is goal line tech .. using VAR for penalty decisions handballs sendinds off and offsides is at best dubious and IMO spoils the game …in some cases an offside can be given or not on the basis that the player did or did not clip his toenails which is bonkers.
VAR is now being used in MANY Asean leagues and from what ive seen being used by refs as a way to influence games where there could be corruption involved ..the Thai leagues are riddled with dodgy officials and even more bent owners than in Europe (UK).WHat would be marvelous and gets a mention in my night time prayers is for this GP issue to get sorted as i feel if this happens fans will unite and back DH n JD and i would really fancy us for a great season .. the ground issue up in the air with a possible ground share could derail things and for sure is sewing doubt in the minds of all involved.
Swan is a proven rabid dog .. told lie after lie such as he will give the ground back and leave the club in a better place than he found it .. total bullshit ..he is the sole reason the club is in such a sad situation.
David Hilton gets my total support for what hes done to date i try to ignore the haters and their crusade against him …the only thing i care about is SUFC surviving ,staying at GP and actually seeing some good football , goals and success on the field.

I do recall chit chat re the academy previously when its closure was mooted first time round and did mention the idea of sponsoring some how to my 2 bizz partners both keen football fans (not Scunny) alas me wearing my claret n blue googles was soon spotted and the guys advice to hang fire as too many unresolved issues with the takeover turned out to be spot on…
As a businessman i actually agree with what DH has done re the academy , tough decisions have to be made as we found out over the years and more recently during the covid pandemic.
Skelly’s resurrected a van for Tamworth IFA the youngest from the original lads will be 42 and others in their 60s, in our case were not looking for another Nuneaton but if needs must, was offered out after the game yesterday by 5 ilki youth must have been at least 10 years old (they were only mucking about) they were there at the end with about 15 others and were up for a laugh the little scroats lol.
Skelly top lad ..good on yer , i hope all have a great day ,, im 59 next bday and recall vividly the war of Nuneaton … i went to a fight and a football match broke out, the carnage inside the ground that day was unbelievable.
BEHAVE YERSELVES OK !!

maybe it was just some one who looks like Mo Salah ??
not sure if this is 100% correct but ..
DH initially agreed to a academy business plan put to him.
This plan had set financial parameters within it which it seems have changed.
Purely as a business decision as owner you have to look at the whole picture and make a call which is what DH has done .. im guessing the reality is a NLN cannot operate with an academy run on the same levels as a L2 club when funds need directing to other areas in an attempt of promotion.
Im sure many will have their own opinions on this subject.
i be interested to hear from any members who have spoke to David Hilton face to face to get an idea about how they perceived him .. from the Brigg game pics he looked like a man under immense pressure , not happy at all where as at Ilkeston more smiles.
I truly hope this clusterfook of a situation can be sorted and DH and JD go on to get SUFC back up the footballing pyramid.
BTW Patrick what was the attendance ??
forgot to ask ……Did any of the Bru members who spoke to DH at the Ilkeston game yesterday get chance to get any info on the GP saga ?? was it mentioned? if so how confident we will start the season at GP.
i read online only 80 tickets of the initial 750 remain … it was yesterday on the Scunthorpe fans group page which for some reason allowed me in to read .. alas today just tried and im blocked now.
IMO quite a difficult first fixture for the Iron and should offer a reasonable idea on the season to come.

whilst there seems to be an argument that we need another striker im gonna make a bold statement and say looking at the squad at this level i can see plenty of goals in the team and those goals coming from numerous positional players not only the likes of Elliot n Whitall etc . Wilson Roberts Clunan will all bag a few IMO ..as will plenty of others… so as it sounds like no more signings its notthe end of the world..i will predict also at least one more signing as a guy in a pub in Ashby told me Mo Salah was in in Carvers chippy
