Expect Alfreton to set up similar to Curzon not as open as Scarboro were , will the Iron be able to break them down and find those incisive passes to split a defense ?
My heart says 2-1 to Scunny
My head says 1-1Safe journey to all who travel , enjoy the day

Like the sound of this lad .. spoke well all be it i had to listen carefully due to the Scottish accent , some good vid clips of his play and some goals hes scored…
i wish him well in his time at Scunny.
Having not trained with the team yet will he be in the mix for Alfeton today ??
I did see he made it onto the Iron official club photograph next to Chappo ….
Any explanation re both Law and Rance missing from the photo ? Law is injured and could have missed the call or at the docs but Rance has just gone AWOL with a mention hes been spotted in Ibiza. If Rance has left which with the current injuries would be strange surely there should have been a club statement
I don’t mind Hilton throwing money at players to get out of NLN immediately, as long as it’s affordable (at present whilst effectively squatting and decent crowds I would hope it is). If we stay at GP all season with no rent to pay, great. However it’s very precarious. It’s what happens dependent on the outcome of the court case and also next season. How sustainable are high wages for players? Impossible to know when we still don’t know where the additional money is coming from, which I assume is being pumped in? Not very transparent is it. My concern is that everything is ticking along nicely at present but it could all come crashing down like a house of cards at any point in the new year.
Cant disagree with any of that DM .. if the sh8t hits the fan anytime Jan Feb March it could derail the team in the midst of hopefully a push for promotion thus changing the season from one of success to abject failure and leaving the club up the creek without a paddle.
Back on topic … it seems the YT guy who initially came up with the crowd funding DH gig has now confirmed the plans demise …BUT… a new idea came to him in the blink of an eye and here is the sales pitch
BTW i am not knocking the guy , hes obviously SUFC crazy .. got claret n blue blood coursing through his veins.
BRING A MATE
The thought of Swan in a Lambo is hilarious ..would he even fit in one ?? … total miss match be like putting HP sauce on a custard slice !!

Just seen this crowd funding idea , made me chortle .. sacre bleu DH might have to sell the Roller .. what would the neighbors think ??
Hi guys (n girls).. just back from a hectic few days so missed catching up on the current situation.
Without trawling through the whole thread and face book posts PLEASE could someone inform me of the up to date details in BRIEF FORMAT as to what exactly happened at the court case and the ramifications.
Thanks in advance.
Im quite surprised by the away score predictions of some fans on social media, i think Curzon was a wake up call for how teams will set up against us making games (especially away) very difficult..
Im going for 1-1 at Alfreton

The game is being streamed today, ironfromafar. You may be able to watch it through Nationalleaguetv
Ok thanks will give it a try but im working today riding shotgun with our lorry full of booze leaving to travel up North this afternoon, its the only way to avoid “broken” (robbed or drank) bottles ….
Not sure the internet would be good enough to stream, i do get RH commentary via my phone ok when on the road.Any chance some kind soul could post the commentary link for todays footballing extravaganza at GP
thanks in advance
“We will rout them!”
“They aren’t a good team!
They are there to be spanked!
We will have another decisive win!
Go and give them hell lads and exert our will power on this league!
Let everyone fear us!”“I’m going to predict our third clean sheet on the bounce and a 3-0 victory to us at 28/1”
“I’m going for an away win in fact I will back us to win every game this season in the league”
Not respecting the opposition leads to results like this.
Totally agree .. i had a sneaky feeling it might go pear shaped yesterday but still predicted a draw. I hope this serves as awake up call to both fans n the team that this isnt gonna be a walk in the park … what say you WGs and HMS piss the league ?? we hit stormy seas yesterday and looked rudderless when trying steer through the CA defense and by the end needed life jackets and a Mayday Mayday
UTI
Scunny need to bounce back after yesterday … in hindsight Barrows Poulter n Robertson should not have gone on loan if the squad is as depleted as JD reckons.
Prediction for Scarboro
Hard fought Iron win 2-1
Att 4728UTI
Commentary was piss poor ..it seems every week there are “technical issues”
Re the footy .. Scunny dominated but too slow and sideways , no cutting edge to get in on goal and paid the price with a goal conceded from one of only two chances the home side created. We need to get used to teams playing a deep 5 4 1 against us and find a way to break them down.
As i commented earlier Clunan not playing would be a massive hit and so it turned out , yes we have players to cover but Pugh Shrimpton are not a Clunan. (missed Beestin as well).Atrocious weather last 20 mins really played into Curzon hands no way the ref was gonna call it off ..maybe if it was 0-0 ,alas thats history and move on to Monday which is a quick turnaround so no time to dwell on today and hopefully 3 points in front of a bumper crowd and a great atmos.
Im not one for missing detail and watched the Danny Elliot post match interview and rather an amusing incident in the back ground as what looked like a red haired bride givin it rock all as same as for SUFC not all going swimmingly on the big day ???
disasterous day .. sounded like a bad performance against a team who played 5 at the back and nicked a goal on the break..Could of been called off second half due to waterlogged pitch alas wasnt.
Even the commentary kept dropping out and diverting to Hull rugby .. what a load of bollocks.

Yes, because male athletes are capable of greater physicality because of biology. I don’t think this detracts from enjoyment or appreciating sporting prowess among women.
Agree .. but i dont wanna get into a trans gender argument like Piers Morgan , lets just say due to biology men can perform some tasks better than women whilst women are way better at some other things like ironing, cleaning and even have some attributes that can and quite often do turn men crazy to the point they loose all control ……….of their credit card.
I really like women they are smashing creatures , i have one myself and shes quite lovely and makes a cracking apple crumble.

IMO … the current Scunny side would beat the England womens team comfortably.
I was talked into watching 2 games at the recent WWC and to be honest both were crap.. enjoyed the banter beer n burger and it helped being in Hooters so there were plenty of vest wearing distractions of the shapely and top wobbly variety (can i say that) but as far as womens football goes IMO is total gash
Final prediction
Clunan to be missing
Score draw 2-2
Att 956
2 pens in the game , 1 scored 1 missedDont care who scores but twood be nice for Danny Elliot to get off the mark.
I think we will miss Clunan massively if is is not passed fit and involved today … must be a real doubt if the scan was only being done yesterday.
Totally agree all the creditors should be sorted out it seems DH covered this in his recent chat with SST..BELOW
Its a case of if an individual wishes to believe his comments or not … being a cup half full person i do …others like IB may choose not to for their own reasons and intent to damage DH at every opportunity.

CCJs
Acquired lots of debt with purchase of SUFC. There are potentially five CCJs ranging from roughly £350, to the largest which was made public yesterday. DH currently working to authenticate all bills. Unfortunately some have been not received and therefore missed, they will be authenticated paid and set aside as many have over the past few months. He reiterated he had inherited over 600 debts with the football club and threats of court action and indeed action are a daily occurrence whilst debts are authenticated and contracts reviewed. The total level of debt is now reduced since January by nearly 80% and he is working through debts as quickly as possible to clear the remaining.***

And if he says ‘There’s just too much coming out of the woodwork. I’m cutting my losses and I’m off’? Who will be the most content? You and me? IA and Pat? Deerey? … or IB and IE?
I have no axe to grind with IB or any other Bru member wishing to highlight possible indiscretions re the owner or club as they see fit but i do feel IBs guise of trying to warn and protect Scunny fans has worn thin and its so obvious he and possibly a couple of others have serious issues with DH for what ever reason… we are all grown ups and can each make our own minds up as to how we see the current and involving situation do we really need to be drip fed all these gory details as it wont help one bit.
One fundamental difference between IB and i would hope the rest of the Bru membership is simply the affiliation with the town and its football club. I joined Bru purely for my love of SUFC, a club i have been supporting since my mid teens and even now fast approaching 60 i shall remain ironfromafar til the day i croak it… waiting to see how things pan out and then planning a trip home to take in as many games as possiblePleased to read that the DH and the new club safety officer have sorted the attendance cap with SAG .. i thought the original capacity was 9088 it appears to be 9147 now ??

Seems what DH commented on re the attendance cap being lifted has actually come to fruition and GP is back to its capacity..details below.

Ive given up trying to fathom out how this dual thing works but getting MOTM on yer debut bodes well should he ever pull on a Scunny first team shirt.
I like the LOAN WATCH updates on the club website and it seems Barrows Robertson and Poulter all doing very well.

If DH was to …..
Buy GP in cash tomorrow
Clear all the debts
Put together a team that goes unbeaten all season n gets promoted.
Build a new stadium
Achieve promotion from NL n back in the EFL proper and then do a Luton TownIB (and a few others less obsessed) would still be on this destruction of DH mission as thats all hes interested in .. if DH had bought another club it would be those fans having to be bombarded with any negativity IB can dig up, he doesnt give a shit about any football club only one man and the character assassination / elimination of that man.
DH says nothing and gets abuse
DH gives an interview to update fans on issues and gets abuse in the shallow form of “wheres the proof”
On DH … personally from the outset ive been in the skeptical camp and still are but intend to give the fella a chance and not try to peg him at every opportunity, my only concern is Scunthorpe still having a football club and their own ground to play it in… next Tuesday hopefully the GP clouds of despair and confusion will be some what cleared. As a footnote .. the new ground in the timescale mentioned in DH comments is folly and would go down as a miracle of biblical proportions if its anywhere near .. i would say POSSIBLY 26/27 season at absolute best .. i hope im wrong.

August 24, 2023 at 2:17 pm in reply to: 17/08/23 – County Court Judgement – £14,591.00 – Case No. K1QZ9Z77 #270223So are you on the Southend forum posting about their owner or not Andy, straightforward enough question, it’s either yes or no?, don’t be shy now you aren’t usually.
Of course he is’t on there, because he’s not intrested in Southend, nor is he intrested in Scunthorpe United, his instrest lies with Hilton and anyone that has shown him support rather than chase him from the club. (This isn’t me saying I support Hilton, like every fan on this forum I’m very wary of him. Just calling out IB for what he really is)
And there folks we have it in a nutshell…
Thanks SST .. much appreciated , totally agree this kind of openness re updates is what is needed (suppose twas too much to ask his thoughts re next Tuesdays court case).
Im sure there will be some responding negatively deriding DHs comments in your post as it seems hes dammed if he does n dammed if he doesnt.

Basic economics in keeping the club going financially if ground sharing is the way it goes will kill the club…… it will as my old gran used to say – be a clusterfook.Seasons ticket chaos
GP advertising / sponsors wanting refunds
Where ever we do a deal to play can anyone expect more than 1000 fans to turn up
Lost revenue from every stream FNB to sponsors
How will staff , players be paid , the team may just fall apart. The happy clappers will be in despair whilst a handful of DH and SUFC detractors will have their I TOLD YOU SO moment after which the town will have lost its football club… until the new stadium dream happens which lets be honest is just a fart in the wind at the moment.
