Nobody injured or suspended that would need Barrows to replace him IFA.

I thought he is a very versatile player can play numerous positions .. loosing every week at Ilkeston not good for his confidence as well.

Just read in the Non-League paper they are on their Third manager of the season already.

In free fall after a promising start .. i would be bring Barrows back off loan ASAP the way injuries n suspensions are shaping up at Scunny

The abandonment at the time was a relief but now I think the result will stand once the refs report goes in.

Yes i agree .. IMO refs report in , NL panel sit and result will stand no replay… if the opposite happens it would be a real surprise and very lucky for the Iron.

Latest email from the Iron Trust regarding Glanford Park and “the owner’s intention to Sell notification” 👇
We need to update Trust members on the situation regarding Glanford Park and its status as an asset of community value (ACV).. Earlier this week the Trust received a letter from North Lincolnshire Council telling us that they had had notification from Mr Swann informing them of his intention to sell Glanford Park. The main content of the letter is copied below.
“ASSET OF COMMUNITY VALUE – intention to sell
The Sands Venue Stadium, Scunthorpe United Football Club
I write to inform you as the nominator of the above property as an Asset of Community Value of the owner’s intention to Sell notification
    received on 31 August 2023.
I must advise you that because the property is on the council’s Assets of Community Value list , the following moratorium periods will now commence:
Initially there is an interim moratorium period of six weeks during which an eligible ‘community interest group’ can submit a written request to be treated as a potential bidder for the property.
The written request should be marked for my attention and sent to the address above,
This interim moratorium period commences on 31 August 2023
and ends on 11 October 2023. If such a request is received then the next stage commences, but if no such request is received then the owner is free to sell the property.
The full moratorium period of six months is triggered if a valid written/email
request is received. This period is intended to give the community group
time to assemble a bid and, if successful, complete the purchase. However, the owner is not obliged to sell to the community group. The full moratorium period will end on 28 February 2024
    .
There is a protected period of eighteen months during which the owner is
free to sell the property without further delay if no community group has submitted a written/email request and/or pursued it through to completion of the purchase within the relevant moratorium periods.”
The Iron Trust board is meeting this coming week to discuss this letter and we will then contact all members again to set out our our thoughts on the situation. It is worth reminding ourselves that Mr Swann didn’t have to activate the ACV process when he sold the club to Mr Hilton as it was sold as a going concern.

Abandoned according to Dean so now waiting on a ruling to see if the result stands or if it’s to be replayed. A panel decides that. The penalty Elliot took was a joke, you could hardly see the ball and it was sat quarter way up in water.

If as you say it goes to a panel youve got to think they will let the result stand being so late in the game , will they even take into consideration the conditions when Eliiot took the pen ?

Weve already seen some very bad officials in NLN this year but this guy was utter gash on so many fronts ..totally clueless and inconsistent.

Surely Buxton will appeal the abandonment and any decision will be in the hands of the NLN top brass…my prediction is for what ever reason they come up with they will confirm the result stands no replay

Crazy game .. in so many ways.
First n foremost a terrible Scunny performance
Yellow cards like confetti , a straight red with more overlooked
2 penalties one given by the linesman
a medical emergency in the crowd (hope the guy is ok)
    freakiest weather
diabolical officials were dire on so many issues
Buxton time wasting player falling to the ground for no reason.

IMO not solely basing this on yesterday but Elliot should not be taking pens ..ridiculous run up is all to predictable and he will have more saved then he scores…

Game should have been halted and restarted or abandoned earlier well before the Elliot pen.

If the abandonment stands ..we got out of jail and very lucky as Buxton came to do a job on us and did it well … it seems Scunny simply cannot find a way to break down teams that set up and play this way ALA Curzon now Buxton and this needs sorting out.

This also highlighted just how much we miss Clunan , Scales and Beestin.

Bloody ell thats crappy news ..

I was expecting Roberts to be always injured and see very little action …. but IMO its Clunan thats the biggest hit hes club captain and a massive influence in the midfield.

No mention of Beestin , hope hes back sooner rather than later ??

Bit of good news ..just renewed my UK passport in Bangkok yesterday and ready for a trip back, my son is gonna tag along .. last went to a Scunny match when he was 3 yrs old ..now 23

Some fans have mentioned the contents of his deleted Twitter account being an issue, IFA

Without knowing any details i cant comment … i really want JD and SUFC to succeed and get back in to the NL n then EFL , surely any foopars from the past will be forgotten.

I have noticed since Scunny are toppa the league and seemingly on the up the SCUNTHORPE thread on Fishy forum has gone very quiet .. all those doom n gloom predictions and the piss taking in general has eased some what … im sure it will resurface in the new year as another GP court battle kick off the haddock mating season frenzy.

Bartonscorpion not alone in cheering the end of his “expert summariser” career.

Indeed cass marvelous news Mr Cox has found alternative employment thus keeping him out of the RH commentary box.

I HOPE HE WILL BE REALLY REALLY REALLY BRAVE AND SHOW LOTS OF QUALITY IN HIS NEW ROLE.

its a shame that for what ever reason there seems to be some “fans” that just dont want to see JD succeed ..

there is a buzz back , team spirit , smiling faces on players at appear to want be be at the club and JD seems to be forging them into a decent outfit. Higher attendances happy fans seeing entertaining football, better food at games and new hand dryers ……..whats not to like ..

Im guessing its a combination of Hilton , Budget , JD and his team so well done n lets hope he wins many more MOTM this season and next.

Yes, the “Have a a go at Hilton” boys seem to be running out of ammo. Scraping the barrel with repossessed handryers which they seem to have got wrong anyway.
    (Oh dear, how sad!!)

Indeed to use an old footy chant … OH .. ITS ALL GONE QUIET OVER THERE

Im sure IB will be diligently trawling the archives for past CCJs etc , and any breaking news on DH ..latest i heard was that he alleged cheated in his school exams and stole a cadburys creme egg from the tuck shop.

Defo a possible banana skin this one .. Buxton a team no body has really fancied to do well but they are rattling in the goals and as previously mentioned top the form table…Fitz needs to be on form as do his defense… Mid field will be key missing a bit of grit with Clunan, Scales n Beestin all out.

Hoping Smith in for Scales .. so good luck to the lad on his full home debut if that happens.

Prediction.. a few goals in this one so im going
    3-2

Hoping to actually have time to tune in as i missed the SSD game cos of work commitments and it being horrible KO time.

I was very skeptical about JD but credit where its due doing a great job with the players he chose , got them playing nice football as a team and there seems to be some team spirit at long last.

MOTM well deserved ……..need to keep the early season momentum going.

    Good luck Richie !
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Carver and the other loan lads back at some stage.

If we get to the stage where getting Carver back becomes necessary then the s*** is already too deep.

AGREE there cass … i wouldnt mind seeing Barrows coming back from Ilkeston ..hes a versatile player can slot in a few different positions.
Looking forward to see how Connor Smith plays in his full Iron debut at GP.

“The 32-year-old has had no shortage of suitors in higher divisions, but opted to return to Glanford Park and train with the club a couple of weeks ago”

Are we really supposed to believe that??

As my old gran used to say …. what a load of bollocks !!

He turned down other clubs in the EFL n NL to play for Scunny, why ?? when he was here before (yes in a crap team) he looked totally un interested….so lets see if owts changed.

Fitz had the first goal covered but it took a deflection, should have done better with the second, second goal he’s let in at the near post.

Must admit to no noticing a deflection for their first goal i thought it had just swerved n turned in flight n caught Fitz flat footed.

…as we really lost 2 points on Saturday due to the ref and the red card

I’d put Fitzsimmons above those two. No way that 1st goal should be getting past him!

Yeah after watching the highlight vid Fitz was shocking to concede their first goal from that distance …however he did make a couple cracking saves as well when their guy was through n in on goal.

Reading the NL fans group its mentioned SSDS do take decent numbers away so could well surpass the 4000 mark on Tuesday.

im sticking to my 3-2 prediction ..just not sure who to …YET

Once again I failed to get coverage of the Scunny ,atch and gave up after ten minutes, the two main RH Stations had Hull City on one of them (which was ok because of playing away), but the other one had that shite Rugby on covering Hull v Leeds (playing at home), who in their right mind wants to listen to that shite, Rugby aLeague games should be played on a Sunday when people are having an afternoon nap.
So both stations were once again covering Hull matches, and when half time came in the Rugby game I switchewd it on to get the half time summery of the Scunny and all it covered was the bloody Hull Sity manager talking about signings and player contracts, a few adverts and a talk of the first half of the bloody rugby match. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME THAT RH IS, all that was missing was Copey Smiles playing some rap records,to wind my afternoon up!!!!!

I was having the same issues until typed in BBC radio non league live commentaries and it went direct to the page to choose your game .. this page appears about 1 or 2 hours before the scheduled kick offs ..prior i was being directed to the BBC sport website , clicked on football from there i could never get to the non league commentaries.
Yesterday commentary was at best ok .. Cox isnt good and his constant use of the words brave and quality are enough to make your ears bleed ..let alone offering all his great knowledge and advice now when he didnt have a clue when he was gaffa.

RH is bollocks … always having issues of some kind and very annoying they advertise pre match coverage to start 2-30pm – 8-30 pm here the same as all the other radio stations ..Radio Lincs , Kent Surrey , Tees etc they all seem to be exactly on time whilst Humberside still not gone live at 2-45pm and counting .. SHIT SERVICE

Lets hope the commentary id good and without Hope.
