Will take some effort from the team for this not to be a game too far. Circumstances just coming together against us.
we don’t quite have the balance right when down to 10 – need an outlet to hold it up while 1 or 2 join up. Have a to keep a threat even if its limited. At least keeps opponents on their toes and you don’t conceed if you have the ball.
2 games without a win. Need to win one of the next 2 to keep momentum. Hard work, commitment, team work fine but points are what matter.sadly yellow not appealable
yes he did wind their player up – who was stupid enough to punch Whitehall and should have been sent off for it.
Whitehall does a job and does it well and I’m happy with a goal a game.
If he goes beyond the rules up to the ref to sort him.So many opinions based on no facts just assumptions! Mainly is seems because they don’t fit a criteria for a fans representative and yet all the groups mentioned represent a section of fans not all fans.
i do know one of the fans, they have been attending games for 20+ seasons. Most of those years as a season ticket holder and goes to most away games too. They do use the club shop, restaurant and have sponsored the ball. Finally if you think they will a club stooge clearly not met them!
While slightly biased, I’m happy to give the groups a chance before criticising them.3 users thanked author for this post.
Maybe that’s what fits the budget – for now. Or he has improved?

nope – cant recall anything special about him – not in the Yates class. Maybe he was homesick!?

sorry but Chester were no footballing side, never mind better. Their whole aim were to disrupt our rhythm or get us down to 10. The winger jumped with his arms up ready to dive. Credit to them if they went toe to toe they lose easily, again. Sadly ref was useless and allowed them to ruin the game. Fitz never made a save worthy of an applause. When we could we looked dangerous, did miss Roberts calmness, esp on the break towards the end. Credit to AB and the team we have learnt how to beat these disruptive teams. Win 100% deserved

the odds make no sense – they were only 3 points behind us. I agree with AB there are not under dogs. Prediction easy – we start on the front foot with intensity we win. Keeping in tight and hoping a clean sheet wins with Roberts coming on to create/score one chance, then we lose.
“its what happens at Scunny when there’s a huge game and crowd”
Apart from when Cliffy equalised or we beat numerous team to win league 1 or beat Newcastle or beat Chester early this year. If Chester give it a go we win, if they park the bus it will be hard without Roberts. This game is about the mind not the ability – we are the better team. Just need AB to get them on the front foot from the off. Iron 2-1 after been 2 up and finish 8-1-1 formation ;-)at least AB is humble and young enough to eventually accept he made a mistake with 5 at the back and start playing on the front foot at home. Brown too old and arrogant to consider he got it wrong against Southport and Chester!!
If we turn up and play on the front foot we win.
Roberts help’s with that but if he’s missing then use him as a “do it for Roberts” who got us here.
You never know promotion may just get him to stay. He always comes across as a decent bloke, with some honour (rare in footy)surely with a positive start we beat Chorley
AB isn’t going to change now – what we need for momentum is a 2nd clean sheet on the trot!! if that means 4 away games without scoring so be it, feel the quality of the clean sheet.
those 7 draws!!!! At ABs door
were not at sea – why no strange thing that we lose today and end up 4th
What ever play-off spot we end up in, is there anyone thinking we will win them?worry is we end up in 4th which if we have the wrong mind set on Monday could happen
Unless AB has us practising pens already? Going for two 0-0 and pensDepends if AB admits you don’t win anything by aiming for clean sheet as your measure of success. And decides that scoring more goals than your opponent is a better approach.
Might mean less draws, and more defeats but end up winning more. Look at the league table top 2.
If our 12 draws had gone 4 win 4 draws 4 losses would be on 88 points now
And who knows some of those defeats if we had been pushing for a win we might not have conceded by trying to playing our for a draw.
Attack attitude needed AB – risk a loss by going for a winwill be interesting who is in NLN with us next year – only 1 northern team coming down. Maccs could be the big club rather than us
Butler isn’t a bad manager for one new to the role but he was too stubborn with a clean sheet and 5-3-2 and that has cost us with those home draws. And he’s not been brave enough at the end of the season when making up for those early season draws. Not been quick enough out the blocks away from home.
Maybe next season!!Be positive we’ve had the most clean sheets – that’s how you get to your points total.
Will AB reveal we reached but unfortunately 2 teams beat it!
Spot on too many drawn games against teams who have a great manager, work hard but we’ve done our home work and know how to keep a clean sheet. Not sure when we will get out this league now!?1 user thanked author for this post.
no surprise from AB then – no threat at all.
AB brave or stupid on Whitehall fitness, lets hope he’s not needed to rescue us?!
Brogan jumps up the pecking order quickly, no bad thing
sadly unless we change out attitude of steady as you go keep it tight and hope for a goal then only see a loss. It hasn’t worked all season, Rushall, Radcliffe etc. If we are knocked off the top we wont get back to it.lets hope we are still top otherwise a rush for not a lot for some.
Nothing positive from AB sadly – didn’t appear to have learnt too much from last week. More hoping something will happen than making it happen. Get out the blocks get ahead and then they will feel tired. Longer they have hope more energy they will have. AB never seem to install the right mindset, too much worrying about the great job their manager has done, how good they are (even if in the bottom 4). You see it fo othe players, Fitz slow with goal kicks from the off, players saying clam down, no quick breaks from opposition corners. The exceptions Kiddy and Chester at home. Need 4 of those. I fear it will be more Radcliffe’s and a 3rd place finish.
we haven’t set out with the mindset of risk losing to win it – Of the drawn games if we had won a third, lose a third and drawn a third would looking good with 85 points now.
A point yesterday would have meant we would beat Brackley with 92 and hope Kiddy drop 2 points somewhere. Now you can be optimistic as you like the reality is Kiddy and/or Brackley will get to 92 points. Only 4 wins will do, no evidence this season says that will happen. Semi final at home and final away it is1 user thanked author for this post.
we aren’t winning 4 on the bounce – play off’s it is
couldn’t score against them!! – season lost with those weeks of 5-3-2

Phil B may think his team will win the next 5 and expect us to bottle it. While we are the best team we too reliant on the ability of a couple to win. Lets hope they stay fit
indeed it would be a cruel fluke –
i’m still worried we will lose out on GD. Listening post Southport AB and Clunan don’t seem too concerned. I assume we are hoping Buxton will take points of Kiddy and we beat Radcliffe. Dangerous.
Curzon and Spenny tricky home games for both and they wont beat our result. I’d be so much more relaxed with a better GD. -
