Why do we never get an answer?

I wonder if it could be part of a delicate situation following Dave’s shenanigans and the club don’t want to stir anything up publicly.

It’s a Moody Blues love in Siderite, give us a New Year number from way back then.

The meaning of ” leading the line” is another facet of the game that’s changed over the years. Tony Hateley, Jeff Astle and even Steve Torpey led the line by winning 90% of headers they went up for with most centre backs, held the ball up by being physically stronger than most centre backs and being very aggressive physically against most centre backs they came up against. When they got fouled and went down, 90% of the time they had been genuinely fouled. Mr Whitehall doesn’t win many headers by comparison against most centre backs he plays against, usually wins the odd header late on when the semi professional sides are tiring, rarely holds the ball up and falls down seeking many fouls when he has barely or not even touched. He would not last 10 minutes as a frontman 15 years ago indeed I don’t think he is a genuine leader of the line, the guy up front for Southport is and the guy up front for Solihull is, Whitehall is nothing like them IMO but he’s a good shouter at refs and likes taking pens to make his scoring record look impressive. Freddie Mercury was a better frontman than Danny O Fanny but it’s only my opinion.

For years people moaned that skilful players were being kicked out of games by over robust tackles that were largely ignored by the officials of the day. Then the rules became stricter when it came to what was allowed for tackling and the Norman Hunters, Ron Harris and Tommy Smiths of the game largely became less significant and skilful players were allowed to flourish more. There were always exceptions back then, George Best, Tony Currie, Frank Worthington etc were great skilful players to watch despite the Iron Men defenders attentions. Now we have a game peppered with cheats, divers and in Whitehall’s case complete fannies when it comes to playing the game. I find him embarrassing to watch most of the time but he scores goals and the younger fans love him because they have known no other way the game is played. Football ,like life, moves on but not always for the better in terms of a spectacle to watch or the betterment of the game in general.

I love travelling for 10 minutes to an AWAY game rather than 75 minutes to a home game. Looked forward to it for months!
(ps Are you visiting your family in Rodley IA?)

Quite the opposite JI so I won’t be attending, however enjoy the game and get down to the barge beforehand for a pint by the canal, it’s only about a mile to the ground from there.

Stuart’s heart is in the right place even if he’s a little misguided in his thinking sometimes , he’s a 100% committed Iron fan and he deserves respect for that not just ridicule or abuse about some of his fund raising ideas even if they are a little out. If he does get a meeting with Michelle I’m sure she will steer him in the right direction or maybe even include him in something new the club may be coming up with themselves for making money. He’s admitted he was wrong about Hilton, as a lot of us were and as for apologising here there and everywhere, well maybe people should just be big enough to move on and not carry chips on their shoulders. The club moving forward with a lot of positivity all round from everyone is what really matters IMO.

No Iron Awe let’s get the debts cleared and the club stable.

Next season’s budget has already been set taking into account the financial plan set in place to clear the debt according to the report on Humberside at the time Dean spoke about next seasons budget.

The budget for next season has already been set and agreed according to Humberside and Dean has already said he’s happy with it because I heard the interview a couple of weeks back when he said that. TBF he’s not going to say it’s bollocks is he even if he’s maybe thinking that, it’s wait and see for us lot on that one, let’s get promoted first.

I’m wondering if this two halves thing is down more to the opposition running out of steam after chasing their balls off in the first half. We do seem overly pedantic with our passing in most first halves but by contrast the opponents tend to chase about a lot trying to press our space, it’s always easier with the ball then without it and we do have the ball an awful lot over ninety minutes. Can’t chase and chase for ninety minutes particularly if your a part time team.

Haven’t picked up why Smith and Roberts were absent. Roberts still carrying a knock? Smith ….??

Roberts got a slight ankle knock so they would not risk him and Mr Smith was a car tyre blowout – no idea when he would arrive so Beestin was going too have a few minutes from the bench started. They reckon Conor arrived near to 1.30.

Thought Dean said Roberts had a slight accident, totally innocent and had hurt his shoulder but he should be available for Saturday, guess one of us is hearing things.

I think a lot of fans, certainly the ones within earshot of the main stand area where I sit, just want Whitehall to stay on his feet and stop going down like a bag of shit everytime a defender breathes on him, it’s embarrassing and unnecessary from a big guy who should be better than that. Yes he’s a wind up merchant and yes he plays to the crowd, I’ve no problem with that as long as he doesn’t getting too many bookings for pissing about but just man up FFS because it’s shite to watch and bloody rubbish full stop. As for Elliot he needs to learn to stay onside because that’s embarrassing too, just watch the bloody line when waiting for that through pass, it’s what good forwards do.

JI has added some valuable reasoned content on this forum over a variety of topics over the years and I think he’s recognised as an intelligent contributor by most here, however he is rather blinkered when it comes to his high handed approach which he uses from time to time when he becomes frustrated with others points of view. I suspect he won’t recognise this trait in his debating but it does come across sometimes as vintage Bucks, what a badge of honour to own that is.

Certainly now Israel are entrenched so deep into Gaza they could reconfigure their approach, Hamas are fighting a guerrilla type war and Israel have the military intelligence and firepower to more than match this and react accordingly. This “bomb that, bomb this and if your innocent and in the way we don’t give a shit” attitude is doing Israel no favours whatsoever politically but if you have a right wing maniac driving you forward I guess it’s not gonna change anytime soon.

If Butterfield has said he’s prepared to stay, the club should do everything in their power to achieve that. He just needs an arse kicker in midfield to win the ball and give it to him and we have witnessed enough of his magic this season to know what happens next. Yesterday he probably did a little too much in beating around six players, went round in circles a bit mind you, to try to get an angle for a shot then ended up getting a booking, which I thought was bit harsh, for a foul. His football brain, quick feet and ball striking are powerful assets at non league level and would probably mesmerise most defences in league two.

I’ve continued to experiment with adding an emoji and having no joy posting a reply but removing the emoji and it posts ok, why this should be I haven’t a scooby but at least for the moment I have found a partial remedy. Not sure what would happen if I quoted another forum members post with an emoji to reply to wether it would block it the same or not, all you techies keep scratching your heads anyway.

Emma Hayes response to the Barton comments was a master class in dignity, common sense and decorum, something he has never achieved in his entire career IMO.

When it was discoverred that Robin Hood had reversed his principles and was indeed taking from the poor and not giving a toss save for his own selfish ends, Maid Marian kicked his sorry arse in his saggy Lincoln Green tights all the way back to Nottingham whilst she promptly announced herself Queen of the fabled GP fortess and promised the peasants within a brighter future but only if they did their fair share of shouldering the burden of resposibility. It promised to be the merriest Xmas for many a year in the old GP fortress and many pints of porter were thrown down despareately dried out success starved throats through lack of a kindly Lord and the star of hope once again hung high and bright in the Steeltown sky.

Yep myself my mate and our ladies went today, very good, well cooked, plenty of it all for an OAP rate of £10 per person. No room for a sweet and no starter required, excellent value for a very large plate of food. Beef, both well done or rare, Turkey and Gammon to pick from, or a choice of a mixture if you wish, much better food and value compared to when Ernest Prawn was running the show. Well done Mr Goat.

Little experiment I just tried on the Berkeley topic, my last post would not download onto the forum with the questioning face emoji but would when replaced with a question ?, strange, hope Minnie’s port and lemon isn’t responsible.

Speaking with a friend of mine last night who played with Jimmy at St Ives (the cambs one). Jesus wept the stories were both hilarious and horrifying in equal measure.

Look forward to you retelling some of these ” stories” on here so the masses can judge for themselves on their validity. I’m guessing it’s just another bomb tossed into the JD discussion with no evidence provided, not like that has never happened on this forum before.
