The Germany v Portugal match last night was the best game I’ve seen so far in this tournament, lots of good attacking play from both sides and plenty of defensive mistakes being exposed as a result. The Germans certainly did look like the Germans of old and Portugal appear to be the best counter attacking side in the tournament when facing such good opposition. Cracking stuff, more please.

How can the 4th ranked team in world football ( yes it’s funny but apparently true ) fail to beat the 44th ranked team at Wembley. We’ll it’s easy, play two defensive midfielders and keep passing side to side and backwards, oh and don’t bring on your most talented player till the last half hour whilst leaving both your defensive midfielders on. It’s so bloody frustrating watching a bunch of very talented players played in this way, just take the bloody shackles off them Southgate and let them play. Oh and Kane should not be playing because he clearly is not fit, play the Everton lad up top instead.

Good luck to the lad, leaves us with that wonderful memory of the opening goal against the Cods in the 3-0 home win.

Well he’s signed and young Dawson has departed to Celtic, whatever the view on Kenyon lets give the lad the benefit of the doubt until he’s kicked a few balls around in an Iron shirt. Welcome young man and the very best of luck.

Spot on les Jack sadly did contract dementia in his later years, wonderful servant to the club and Kevin Keegan came along to Jack’s funeral at Burton church to deliver the eulogy, thats the respect and regard in which Jack was held. If Jack had kissed the badge on his Iron shirt it would have meant something special, half the players doing it these days dont even get it.

I understand the VAR ” lines ” are being widened next season to allow forwards more leeway to be onside, about bloody time, some goals that have been disallowed for hairline decisions in the last year or so has been ridiculous and goes against the spirit of why fans wanted a fairer means of correct decision making in football. It’s gone from the sublime to the ridiculous and the attacking side of he game which is what we all want to see has suffered as a result. Once again VAR is not to blame but the interpretation of how it’s used is.

It’s how the offside law is now interpreted and was in all last season aka it happened loads on MOTD. It’s annoying why it’s been passed through but apparently until the entire passage of play has been completed the lino isn’t meant to raise his flag. Whether it’s to do with VAR having to double check things or not I’m not sure but it’s bollocks. Not sure why McCoist is banging on about it, he’s known the law change all season.

Modern day keepers tend to patrol the edge of their areas when their team is attacking the opposition box as it gives them a chance to run out and clear any over hit balls quickly from a beleaguered opponent and keep his team pressing. However the Scottish lad was way further out then that and was at fault but what a superb piece of skill from Schick, the curve and trajectory of his effort plus the speed of thought involved was outstanding, his first goal wasn’t half bad either, what a great header. Thought the Czechs looked a decent outfit and for all Scotland’s huffing and puffing they were beaten by a much better side IMO.

After yesterday’s upsetting events with the Denmark lad ( great news he appears to be over the worst and progressing ) it was nice to get some positivity on the English football front. First the applause and cheering when England took the knee more then drowned out the racists booing and then the players have delivered a great result and deserved win on a boiling hot afternoon. Happy fans, beer being drunk, England starting well and a smile put back on people’s faces, what’s not to like. More of the same please against the Scots.

    Iron awe – evidence?
If you read my posts you would say “Christian”.
If you read the main posters on here you would say “Marxists.”

That’s not evidence bill and you well know it, come on think harder.

A lot of the main posters on this site are Marxists unfortunately.

Evidence? You always resort to this drivel bill when pushed into a corner on your views, maybe it’s time you came up with something better or perhaps do some serious thinking about other people’s point of view. Stop hiding behind labels and slogans man, it’s pathetic.
