Will that pie be at the Blues club in Oldham? That’s where we will be.
Wont ever go back to Oldham Awaywego after the treatment fans got a few years back. Kept out in the pouring rain till 14.20 when turnstyles should open 90 minutes before kick off by league rules, would not let us in the clubhouse ( members only— f**k off Oldham ) and the outlet inside the ground served up shitty lukewarm meat pies and shit coffee. Think we won the game but the damage was done for me, just the other side of the M62 is a lovely warm hospitable club in Rochdale who welcome you into their club with open arms and their fans are always excellent company. Smaller club then Oldham is Rochdale but a hundred times better when it comes to the away fan experience but each to their own, if you fancy Oldham away you crack on Awaywego.
Pat I know you haven’t been on the forum that much lately but some things don’t change, mate, he just isn’t worth it, the majority know you are correct, it’s pointless exchanging stuff with him, forget him and move on.

Some things don’t change in football, whoever we sign and however many experienced players the new budget allows, the spine of the team must be experienced, younger players can fill in the gaps and we have some good young players particularly at full back. We need to learn from previous mistakes of signing untried and tested players who have no or little league experience down the teams spine. I’m guessing squads will be universally smaller next season due to Covid and budget issues, so there will be a few old heads needing clubs like ours, not convinced with young Swann seeking them out we will be very successful in getting the right ones.

Aye and for me the chance to get a decent meat pie, a proper pint and more importantly the chance to chat with proper fans from a proper club in the clubhouse built on the corner of Spotland. Is it a dream or will it really happen?
Well that was short and sweet, all appears back to normal as far as being able to browse the forums without login needed. No explanation from the Big Man about it but it appears resolved so thanks anyway.
Never in doubt 😂😂😂. Just need Swann to come on Humberside and tell the fans we have survived the drop due to his astute Chairmanship. 🙄. Wouldn’t put it past him.

BobbyGmeister the ultimate keyboard warrior maybe?
I won’t be watching until we are allowed back into GP again, hopefully next season, hopefully to watch a football league club, hopefully we will still have a club left to support and long term hopefully a ground to watch them play in.

Still not good enough Deerey? people have been wanting a statement he gives one and guess what you slag him for it, you have no class Deerey.
Yep we have his statement as we have had numerous others during his ownership of the Iron and how many of those statements have come to fruition? Come on Awaywego his track record on most things is dire, he’s put the club into serious debt with a poor business plan, taken ownership of the club’s assets as a result and asks everybody who is concerned to keep the faith, keep believing, in what? His past record on delivering what he promised? Piss off.

Awaywego just likes a dust up, that’s why he spent his formative years half way up a pylon shouting bollocks at opposition fans and approves of morons lobbing smoke bombs at football matches. He just can’t help himself basically.

Precisely Barrie. Read the post again!
Think Barrie mislaid his specs NI, think ” Love me do ” peaked at number 17, ” From me to you ” deffo the first, of many , number one’s for those Beatles boys.
I believe the money you have paid out to watch utter dross this season BS is the price of loneliness, can’t have been easy for you the last 15 months or so. Hope the guys grab a win for you this Saturday, take it easy old man. 👍

Personally I would like the chairman to employ a competent football manager, give him a reasonable but not excessive League 2 budget and then let him get on with rebuilding a football team and complete backroom staff from scratch while he gets on with his apartments, racehorses and other businesses.
What competent chairman sacks off a recognized scout and then brings players in who aren’t fit for conference level ?
The answer to your last paragraph WG is the same as it’s always been. ” The man who knows it all ” and boy, does the Prawn believe he knows it all!!!!!

Just because someone says something Ferrite doesn’t mean it’s true.

Better late than never! Good to have you onside, comrade.
That’s it Ferrite you’ve lost him straight away, if you call Buck’s a comrade he will think you mean socialist and run back to the dark side. 😂

Mystery issues, most of the seasoned pro’s have downed tools because they couldn’t give a f**k, no mystery, we’ve known for weeks.

Wasn’t it Russell slade that was in charge the first time they got relegated.
Thought it was Neil Woods, the home grown boy, now there’s a thing, Neil Cox, home grown boy!!!! Let’s not go there.

Think he is the first manager to be promoted and then relegated from the league 2 to the national league! Although Holloway is to blame for this relegation.
…..and Fenty, double relegation into non league on his ownership watch, not too clever really.
Anyone been on “The Fishy” yet?
They are basically licking their wounds and complaining about the ref costing them a win tonight but in the main they are admitting the game has been up for a while. They obviously had a little chuckle at us getting thumped at Newport but the biggest laugh was the Exeter radio commentators apparently saying Newport had beaten Sunderland 4-0, how shit these local radio commentators are sometimes. Just a thought, wasn’t it 57 years ago ( 63/64 season ) that we and the Cods got relegated from the old league 2 ( now Championship ) would be rather ironic if we both got relegated into non league this time around!!!! Keep believing people.
Of course he’s not experienced, it’s his first managerial position.
But you don’t let a learner driver take a double-decker bus with no brakes and a dodgy clutch down a steep hill!
…. with an 10 foot low bridge just 200 yards ahead!!!! 😂😂😂
If he’s gonna play one up front it might as well be Loft, not much skill but at least he’s a grafter, VanVeen can’t be arsed anymore and is rightly on the bench.
Bloody hell iron64, have you always had this optimistic outlook running through your life? 😂😂😂
I’m genuinely interested to hear reasons from the (so far) 6 people who’ve voted to say they supported Swann remaining in charge of our club. For what reason? Lack of an alternative? Belief in his vision? Encouraged by his track record?
Members of the Swann family?
Speaking of which, certain posters to this site have been noticeable by their absence in the past week.
Awaywego is having to do the work of five people!
Buck’s will still be mourning that royal bloke and bemoaning the fact that American cop got found guilty of murder, he can’t be everywhere bless him. 😜
I think TBF Awaywego, Hurst was just starting to get things right and was generally being accepted by the majority on here I believe, however The Prawn accused him of not cutting the squad size down as, allegedly, had been promised when he signed his contract and swung his axe. How big is our playing staff now?

April 25, 2021 at 10:26 am in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #205428Double edged sword really, as Cox slags off the players publicly, Swann takes contract extensions off the table early for players who have not signed yet. The players, particularly of late, have shown poor professionalism in their attitude and desire to give their all for the club on the pitch. All these points put together are the reason we are once again staring down the relegation barrel after the team and management had done so well to turn things around since Xmas. It’s a bloody mess but it’s entirely of the club and management’s own making with the players pathetic response compounding the issue. The modern professional player and the old fashioned professional player, never has the gap been so wide, particularly in terms of attitude.

Good points raised all round however I would say to les that yes, while fans were calling for money to be spent to help achieve success, they were not not calling for the business to be mismanaged in the process to rack up such massive losses. The facts are that whatever fans called for ( and plenty of fans say Swann doesn’t listen to them anyway ) Swann and his business model has put the club in this current position. As I said in earlier posts I don’t see the transfer of debt to Coolsilk is such a massive change from him being able to sell of the ground and land to clear HIS self inflicted debts surrounding the club before he did transfer the debt. He has been the owner lock stock and barrel since he arrived, what bothers me is the position he has put us in. Some businessman eh!!!
