I’m sorry I drove you to such excitement IA!
You’re right to a point but footballers only have so much energy – why waste it on fruitless runs into the box when you know the ball isn’t going to come?
Because fruitless runs into the box are part of a forwards job. Lineker said that nine out of ten runs into the box got him nothing but the tenth got him a goal, gambling, taking a chance, busting a gut to get there is all part of the job description. Does Eisa never put a ball into the box from open play?, answer is no, it’s the forwards job to gamble and also bend Eisas ear occasionally on service for him in the box. Not got the energy!!!! that isn’t even an argument, they are bloody professional footballers FFS.
Times change Alcy, things improve, these vaccines are being developed by many countries throughout the world using all the latest techniques and testing programs but hey you stick in the 19th century with your mate Mogg and fester along as usual. Man of your age won’t have many chances left to take but of course it’s your choice.
You stick to your computer BS you will be a lot safer anyway until you get a vaccination.
At least Awaywego is consistent, he’s always been a daft lad on here.
The disagree bit is my contribution, guess I cocked the edit up, I was busting a gut to post. 😂
Chicken and egg Cass – who’s going to make the run if they know the cross won’t come?
Disagree with this, if you are a forward you should bust a gut every time to make a run into the box hoping for the cross, it’s your job it’s what you get paid for its called being a professional footballer. The most successful forwards gamble all the time on making runs which sometimes are fruitless, ours should be no different.
I’m guessing you would struggle to get a cap or gag to fit you Awaywego? 😂😂😂
Social media platforms are both good and bad, good we can express our opinions early and enter into debate with our fellow players but bad when abused in the way the orange faced idiot abroad is using it now. Good and bad, positive and dangerous, the wonderful world of social media.
Great picture on the club website today of Ray and Sir Ian together supporting the Iron at Glanford Park, how brilliant that our club is associated with these two exceptionally talented sportsmen. Such a shame Ray left us all so early.
I’ve got a feeling McGahey might go in January, hope I’m wrong but even with a hamstring injury that was on the mend a while ago, he has been out for a long time. Too long IMO.
Great memories from watching Ray as a young lad starting his career at the OSG, I was only about eleven at the time and the great reception he received from the Donny Road End when he returned with Spurs in that pre season friendly so long ago. RIP Ray, you were a brilliant goalkeeper and a great ambassador for the game.
Am i the only one here thinking these are the foundations he is laying for him and his family to leave the club? Looking to write off the money he’s owed?? That way he leaves us in the shit on the field but off it in quite a strong position financially.or am i thinking to deep into it lol.
Yeah I’ll go with that, sounds quite believable actually, maybe Rob and his verbal truth cut him too deep.
young man.
You need to improve you aim!

And your eyesight!!
My plan was to goad him with an age untruth hoping he’d come on and tell me to f*** off talking bollocks but he’s done that before and I ignored him then. Just nice the old guy is posting again, maybe someone nicked his shed and he’s back out in the open.
Welcome back Alcy, you have been missed young man.
Well said Rob, your Dad would have been proud mate.
Papa rumbo, rumbo
Hey Papa John, coconut!sweet man sweet.
Agree with all the match fitness comments and it’s maybe a blessing we got Covid in the squad fairly early in the season. I believe all clubs will get it in their squads and face a period of isolation this season and it will effect the players fitness and disrupt any earlier work they put in before and during the early part of the season. Quite ironic we got shut down with Covid just as it appeared we were improving performance wise at Exeter and we now need another short period, say a fortnight, to try and get players back up to fitness and the management team to get their heads around which players and system we can crack on with. Yes Cox is finding his feet but we knew that would happen before a ball was kicked this season, he needs time he needs fit players to pick from and he needs the senior injured and unfit players to come back when available and perform at a level they are more than capable of in this division to give him and these young lads a chance to turn things round. I can’t see the season finishing the way things are going with this bloody virus, so we had better buckle down and accept the fact that things for our club and football in general are going to be bloody difficult for a long time to come. UP THE IRON.
Who sang “Things Can Only Get Better”? Let’s hope they were right.
D:Ream. From 1993 Cass.
Backed.
You wouldn’t bet against Ward bagging the winner. 🙄
Tony Blairs suggestion letting people have the vaccine now if safe , but maybe only 50% effective could get us back in grounds after xmas, and more of a normality in the community, “bring back Blair”.
Wishful thinking on so many counts there I’m afraid.
No we had 2wks away picking lettuce far better than Sheffield park.
Thought it was two weeks away picking your nose but came home after a day when your head caved in.🤦
Did not realise that some teams are not testing,it beggars belief,we will never get back to any kind of normal, thought that football league would have made it mandatory, but what do I know
The Football League are pants that’s why. Grimsby had one youth player test positive and didn’t play for a fortnight, we have several first team players test positive plus management and others isolating as a result and are allowed to carry on till today. Total incompetence by the authorities, predictable but ridiculous.
Bloody farce the lot of it,should have never restarted.
100% agree.
If we can manage to be bottom of the league after Saturday we might get on the telly with BBC fancying an upset. Could do with some TV money.
Yep Humberside reckoned the new keeper prevented another five goal or worse mauling and despite the error looked a good player. All players make errors, did anyone see the Codheads keeper make a complete howler on Saturday? and he’s been with them a long long time. Mind you it was funny to watch, any Codhead blunder is funny to watch.
Boots intend to charge £120 per test to the public when and if their 13 minute test becomes available. Would be interested to know the base cost for the test.
I reckon it will be a 90% mark up on that test Heathy, total exploitation by the private sector. People should avoid feeding unnecessary profiteering and leave it alone.
Tomorrow….. should be the day we are ordered not to play for the next fortnight, this situation regarding our club and covid is beyond ridiculous.
When I said the new keeper would throw a couple in and have a nightmare debut I was only joshing, hope he hasn’t read my post and feels he has to oblige by complying. 😲
Ernie will have insisted it’s played, the sooner we are relegated the sooner he can knock it all down and start building houses.
