A point was raised early on in this discussion when someone mentioned the fan may have fallen and injured himself badly because his hands were restrained and therefore could not break his fall. If you read the law again about civilians using handcuffs there is a section that reads using them could constitute a crime. If somebody was injured as a result of being cuffed then the steward/security could find themselves in very hot water. This is just another reminder of how inappropriate the actions taken against the fan on Saturday were. The stewards are not the Police end of.

All tunes on the day to be from 1972.
If they played Heart of Gold people would automatically think of Steve Wharton not Peter Swann.

Wasn’t ” The Shinning ” the Simpsons version of The Shining featuring groundskeeper Willie as the bad guy. 🤔😂

Like a moth to the flame eh BS, ha ha gullible as ever.
Didn’t hear that PP, thanks.
Didn’t Swann say Cribb was on a two year deal and was staying with the club on the podcast?. Oh wait, Swann said so….yep he’s leaving.

Sorry les I thought SNAP referred to Snidey Nasty Arsey Pensioner 😂 actually we do have a lot in common, I’m in your and micks club. Do you think we could achieve a forum 6 with some others🤔😂

Well they were quick enough to announce his arrival Awaywego but maybe les has hit on something about being part of a consortium? We can but hope.
I think your right Ferrite about the risk of playing the kids too much but Hill hasn’t got many options just now as regards Cribb. Grant is still banned, Hallam I presume is still injured and Perry has disappeared into the ether I guess. We never get updates on the last two so we presume they just aren’t available and I believe Grant serves his last game ban on Saturday.
Has he been kiss arsing Swann and his family 🤔
Re your list of players les, we could do with a few Andy Stevenson’s playing for us now. Local lad who gave everything and would sweat blood for the club. Not the most talented player on the books but very solid and dependable with a great never say die attitude. Always thought Alan Whitehead had a bit of class about him in the back line but quite a few of those players named on the list would have walked into this current team no problem whatsoever.
Still no official announcement on the website, why are they being so secretive?, c’mon Swann keep us informed.

Maybe he asked the club to announce it on the website and they refused? Nothing has appeared yet, perhaps it’s the ” current regime ” analogy, sounds a bit ” Putinish ” which may be too close to home for comfort. IMO.

Good post JI, just a quick couple of questions.
Do you think the lad should have been handcuffed behind his back?
Have you ever seen an Iron fan handcuffed behind his/her back by steward / security staff in all the years you have watched the Iron?My answers are no and no and I’ve watched the Iron 58 years.

I will just stick to my original post, and your lack of clarity on where you stand Ironawe I take it you wouldn’t have joined the board in the first place either.
I will stick to my original legitimate response whilst reflecting on your total naivety when trying to understand it.
Looks a good prospect and very strong for his age, was very ordinary yesterday after looking good of late but hey the kid is 16, he will have days like yesterday.
We could become Cairo Castings FC 😳
…was it a board run by a single family and would you have remained a member if you had spilled your guts about all the details that went on as Awaywego is suggesting Simon should have done when resigning 🤔
Is that your assessment of the current chairman position TW 🤔😂

‘where do we go from here apart from downwards at an alarming rate I fear’
Edging close to Haircut 100 there I-A. Pack it in!
Aye well spotted, unfortunately it didn’t turn out to be a ” Fantastic Day “.

Whether he is charged is upto the authorities. The FACT of the matter is he committed an offence by entering the ‘field of play’ and was dealt with accordingly.
Wheras a few weeks back the Rochdale fans who entered the ‘ field of play ‘ were allowed to leave without objection, difficult when there is more than one I appreciate but if the lad yesterday was treated like he was to set an example I fear the stewards/security are in for a surprise last home game of the season.

You never said whether you would have joined Swanny given the chance Ironawe?
Hypothetical question but who ever chooses or is chosen to be on a company board has to sign a confidentiality agreement, that will apply to Neil Wright too. Thought you might have understood that Awaywego TBH.
He could have given us the full circumstances Deerey but he chooses not to
No he could not because he will have had to sign a confidentiality agreement before joining the board, therefore be can only give us all a brief outline of his reasons for leaving. If we all knew the full goings on about the running of SUFC then I believe there would probably be even less fans attending home games now IMO. Give you head a wobble Awaywego and start living in the real world.

Why would he know what he was walking into?, situations at football clubs as in business change all the time, he would not have joined in he did not feel he could make a positive difference. Simon always comes across as a genuine honest man, can’t say I feel the same about some of the people he’s been associated with IMO.

One idiot fan charging onto the pitch to attack a steward reflects badly on our club.
Did not realise you were aware exactly what went on and all the circumstances , were you one of the stewards/security people involved? If so please give us all on this forum a full, fair unbiased account.
Well PP if the fans director does leave in a hurry and I sincerely hope he does not, it will be a final cutting of the tenuous link between owner and fans IMO. Let’s be right the atmosphere is already a toxic one, you can read as such in the majority of the posts on this matter on here and fans discussions in the ground. I can’t recall the last time I heard a single word of support for our chairman in the ground and that includes the many elderly fans who chat pre and post match in the East Stand. I’m guessing the younger element behind the goal will be even more vociferous in their opinions. So sorry Simon has felt the need to leave the board but then again a principled person would have no choice really.

Lots of differing opinions on this matter but whatever the rights and wrongs of yesterday’s incident ( I was shocked by what went on BTW ) this whole unsavoury episode just reflects badly on our club and it’s current state. What have we become when there is such a toxic atmosphere between fans and the people running our football club? Without fans there is no club but until this current ownership is gone I can’t see anyway back for any sort of relationship between fans and club owner and as a result the club, the thing that is important to every fan of SUFC, is on a massive downward spiral with no real way of surviving successfully.
I have never felt so low morale wise as an Iron fan after what I witnessed yesterday, an unacceptable second half performance from our football team and unacceptable treatment of a fan, thug, idiot call him what you like being dragged away with his hands cuffed behind his back. By all means throw him out if necessary but like many others I have never seen that sort of thing happen before in my 58 years of being an Iron fan.
The majority of fans staying away have done so to demonstrate to Swann that they are unhappy with the way he is running our football club, after yesterday I believe many more will follow. What a bloody mess from start to finish, where do we go from here apart from downwards at an alarming rate I fear.8 users thanked author for this post.
I’m going with a few of us as we have mates In Bristol – but just to say goodbye to league football, that might be it for me. Certainly not giving Swann another penny moving forward, cry all you like about affecting the squad/ability to compete – that’s on the Chairman who is a despicable human being
Well your post is still up namesake fair play to ya, thought the last line might have fallen foul of the moderators delete pen. Still time but good for you for saying how you feel.

Old boys network, outrageous Ferrite 😂😂😂 there sure is and still is, as for the Premiership it’s more like the Mafia then an old boys network. Corruption exists in all big organisations in life and that includes professional football.
