If he’d stayed Ironawe. His last season in charge 4.5 million drop in income but could only reduce outgoings by 2 million we’d have been in the same boat under him imo, didn’t even have enough money to offer Cliff another contract the obvious choice for a future manager after 10 years service, and the rest is history glad I was round to see it all warts and all especially the Wharton era.
Well as you say it’s an opinion based on what may have happened, which is just supposition on your part. What we have now is reality under the current owner and it is entirely down to him, nobody else, you would do better to live in the here and now when attempting to defend your hero.

Or maybe “there but for the grace of god go I”.
Explain?
Why would St Steve despair he did sell to Swanny and got his money back, whereas Swanny won’t get all his money back, probably laughing his socks off at the fool.
Oh maybe because he genuinely loves the club and is desperately sad to see where it’s gone under the chancer gambler owner. You know just little points like that.

I know it’s Xmas and peace on earth goodwill to all men and all that but I don’t feel sorry for Swann. That may sound harsh to some but everytime I read a story about him or the state of our club I just get more bloody angry. How the hell has it all come to this, Steve Wharton must despair as do the rest of us I imagine.

Only Sir Geoff and Sir Bobby left now of the original eleven and Bobby hasn’t been well for awhile now. RIP George and thank you, time marches on.

That Joseph was a wily character, conning Mary to spout off about an angel appearing to her and saying she was carrying gods child. Things you do to get out of admitting you got an unmarried mum up the duff, religion eh, bloody hell.
” naive or a complete idiot ” if you don’t agree with Buck’s view of how the unions are operating at the moment, that is his assessment. Imagine if others had described his version of events in this way it would be ” more personal abuse from the usual suspects “. Buck’s your hypocrisy is unbelievable.

So being in charge and accepting responsibility isn’t constructive enough for you eh Buck’s? Fair enough I will let you put your head back in the sand and carry on.
The unions have still got massive support and sympathy actually and as for the Government, they lose more credibility by the day due to their intransigence. Mega shit coming down the line in the New Year.

Don’t worry, he will be tucked up in his crib Xmas eve with gin and tonic in hand. No prizes for guessing what will be in his other hand.
One thing doesn’t change, if you are in charge, if you want to be in power, if you want to govern your country, then you carry the can when things start going tits up. This government like a lot of its number since 2010 just kick the can down the road rather than carry it.
Hope they bring 2000+, send them as many tickets as possible we need to pay wages.
Anybody remember Tarot Ace of Wands, TV series from the early seventies?, pretty good as I recall from my teenage youth.

Which is the more appropriate term, ” soccer thug ” or ” football hooligan “?
Depends who you’re talking to? But I’m not so much defending soccer as criticising “footy”. I mean “footy thug” is the sort of thing the Sun would come out with, surely that’s a winning argument?
I would class Awaywego as a football hooligan when he yabbers on about him chasing aggro for aggro’s sake in his youth at football matches. Probably refer to the current owner as a soccer thug.
Togger was knocking about when I was a kid in the sixties and we used it occasionally but when my mates came round it was usually ” are you coming out for a game of footie ” or even ” a kick about “. Honestly, hardly ever heard football referred too as soccer, must be an age thing but I know the Yanks always use it, that’s enough for me to rule it out.

Well that’s cheered everyone up for Xmas SST.

Me and ‘our kid’ were always telling ‘me mum’ that we were off to play ‘footie.’If I’d said off to play’soccer’there would have been raised eyebrows … then scornful laughter … and then, maybe, violence.
“Off to rugger practice”.
Is there a more middle class phrase?
Only Catholic trainee priests.
” Off to *ugger practice ”
Sounds like ” rugger “.
‘maybe, violence.’ Made me laugh!
JI would probably have been forced to lick the road clean with his tongue after working a 25 hour shift darn pit. Quite right too, soccer my ar*e.
So sad to hear about the abuse he suffered as a child, I didn’t know about that till today. He did wonderfully well to lose himself in music but the treatment of some people when they were younger leaves them terribly marked for life. What the hell is wrong with the world?

Soccer has only become used more widely as a term to describe football ( footy ) because they call that oval shaped ball carrying game that they play dressed in body padding and helmets in America ” football “. Football came about because it’s a game primarily played with the feet, how American football can be described as such has always amused me but of course when America says something the rest of the world seem to obligingly fall into line. Personally I think when Americans refer to football as soccer during discussions or during commentary they should be told to either call the game football or shut TFUp. Button it Yanks. 😂

A real shame, there were many fine songs but Ghost Town was epic and so relevant to its time. Our Lips Are Sealed was another personal favourite, thanks Terry you will be missed.

Your right about it being all about the money Awaywego and it’s also right about the valuation that comes to a sensible figure for what you are selling. I’ve heard it’s been for awhile that it’s 6 million for a fan backed consortium bid which is what the current prospective buyers are. Do we consider that fair or overpriced and how has that figure come about 🤔
Bought your Trump digital cards yet bill?, apparently sold out but I’m sure you can still snaffle a few. He would love you to follow him on Truth Social, he’s your sort of guy when it comes to conspiracy theories. Unbelievable Jeff 😂
Deerey did say no utter guff BS 15 million ffs.
Don’t do irony do you 🙄
There were a few in here that estimated the land value to be much less than £10k a few years ago. Not sure what evidence they had of that though. Think it was all guesswork.
Guesswork from members of the bru forum!!!, how very dare you sir.

Sir Ot – it only mentions a trio of gifts. All else is guesswork.
I believe the Eastern Church identifies them as 3?
But, you’re correct, our bible doesn’t identify their number. Our bible? Was that written by Grimm 🤔
His profession speaks volumes about his attitude.
