    I guess the Keegan as an Iron legend is a matter of timing.

    I was about 13 when he joined and I used to go to junior and reserve matches as well at that time so pretty much saw him in every home game in an Iron shirt. Often went with Vinnie Grimes who was a mate from school. First time we saw him Vinnie said “first team material” and he was. Not because he was super skillful but because of his amazing workrate and fearless attitude.
    Every time you saw him he was just a little bit better which is something he kept doing for much of his career.

    Spoke to him 2 or 3 times and just seemed a very enthusiastic but ordinary guy.

    Very much an Iron legend for me. How many other players joined the Iron as kids and went on to be genuine world class and one of the best players of his generation? Clemence the only other to get anywhere near.

    Legend for me certainly.

    I think the Trust has got it wrong on this occasion.
    Seem to have jumped in without thinking it through
