The fact that a lot of the real big boys wanted out and go to a European Super League not so long ago should remind us all again what their real agenda is and it’s nowt to do with maintaining anything like the structure we have in this country.
All good points being made Ferrite and I get your drift but the underlying problem for me is this is what you get when you sell out, football sold out back in the nineties and now the game is facing the unpleasant truths that money and craving success bring because of it. I’ve honestly no time for any of them despite some of the football being unbelievable at times. I guess it’s what you get for wanting unbelievable football based on the unbelievable expectations that every club behaves and respect each other, which they clearly don’t. The Premiership seems so unreal to me at times and is a million miles away from the rest of our football structure which is so well loved and cherished by football fans in this country.

I’m going to play ironmaster1 at his own game, I believe his post regarding players being signed by the Chairman and the manager looks to have no say in it, to be pure conjecture based on zero evidence. Happy to be proved wrong.

Sounds like last season’s security at GP fansy.
Thing is when football sold it’s soul for money back in 1992/93 it was only ever going to go one way. The so called fair play rules would never have seen the light of day if certain ” big clubs ” hadn’t got so upset because they were not ruling the roost trophy and title wise as they had been in the first few years of the Premiership. Once Abramovich and then the Sheikh moved in and were allowed to do so, the old guard started squealing unfair. They sold out then got cranky when they could not keep winning most things every season, hence the fair play rules. It’s a load of bollocks, they got what they deserved whilst the rest of the football structure was left to rot.
Anybody studying American politics, particularly over the last seven or eight years, should have the nous to realise the Republican Party are in a real mess and are more interested in tearing each other apart then doing what is best for their country. You even had MTG standing up and calling Biden a liar in his speech last night when he stated Senator Rick Scott had proposed a change in social reform that would have made millions of Americans much worse off in their living standards and medical care. It’s not even a topic a lot of moderate Republicans would argue with Biden about but the extreme right keep pushing their poison to the American people and some of the American people appear very gullible to right wing propaganda in the extreme. Sad to see such a powerful country struggling with basic principles of integrity and reason in their politics.

Is this activity undertaken manually with just a cloth or do we use one of those new fangled electric polishers?
I heard UTI99 used his tongue and that the the former owner was rather insistent in such matters 💩
Good old Rene, a proper little ray of sunshine 🤣

I think how you describe Man City can be applied to all the big clubs in the Premier League TBH Ferrite, it’s all about money and I don’t see Chelsea or Man U or Liverpool or Arsenal and now even Newcastle being any different.
It’s not about who you like or dislike it matters the correct sanction is applied if any case is proven. Would you expect anything serious done against one of our top clubs? Wether we think it warranted or not we need to keep our heads in reality, money wins nearly everytime in the rest of life, I don’t expect anything different here

What is concerning me is that the chairman is signing these players, the manager looks to have no say in it.
What gives you this idea, have you read something?
Quite agree cass, I always ask for evidence when these sort of comments get thrown into the mix, the response is usually not forthcoming.
It’s all alleged but I see you’ve already made your mind up, can’t beat an unproven conspiracy theory, let’s see what the solicitors make of it all when actual evidence is presented. Don’t think the Sheikh will be losing too much sleep just yet.

Fair play to the chairman we needed both these type of players in and he’s delivered. 👏👏👏

Apparently I’ve dated 27 Ukrainian women in the last three days, must have slept through it, never felt a thing.
Pub near the canal was The Friendship Hotel, it became The Friendly Fox and latterly The Barge Inn. 🍺
One step away from ” The Handmaid’s Tale “.

George Kerr’s corner was spot on as I recall but what a header from the great man.
Just saying BS, if you believe people were bored to tears on Friday night then I have to say you are wrong IMO. Tactically we maybe got it wrong but we lost to a better side and the game was never boring , in fact the whole evening was quite electric with the ground buzzing again.

Wonder if it will flash up at 15.15 on a Saturday, ” We have run out of pies “?

OK viewing from the East Stand and the furthest section away, my mate in the West Stand said it was far too bright. When the stoppage time goes up they don’t continue the clock which is a bit annoying but it’s nice to see a new scoreboard in action again at GP. Nice one Roj 👍

Think young Foster has to hold his hand up for the third goal, yeah he should have done better but he’s a kid whose learning as he goes, you will get two good games and a bad one from him that’s how it is with young players. The whole defence was at fault with that stupid first goal, complete brain switch off from the lot of them. The third was deflected so no blame on the keeper for me but the defending was very poor in allowing the guy time to get his shot away. I said we needed an experienced keeper for at least back up and I’ve not changed my view after last night.
1-lost
2-win
3-lose
4-draw
5-win
That is all.Your cheerful disposition is such a comfort.

Great buzz in the crowd tonight, strangely I thought the singing in the last game was better and more sustained, maybe I’m getting blase about these big crowds.

FFS it’s one game, yes you are all pissed off and so am I but we are down anyway and next season we will be ready to bounce back. Swann fu***d this club up big time and it will take time and patience, you are either in it for the long haul or it’s gonna be one long moan and groan fest for months on end. This shit will take time and patience, we still have a football club, be grateful.

Think he might not fancy him but he might not be fit either, first game, move on

Big guy held it up, won most of his headers, scored a nicely taken goal with his feet, good for a big guy and looks like he could ruffle a few feathers. Kid from Hull was ripped a new one by the best player on the pitch and so would O’Malley if he’d played. Fewster looked good when he came on, should start next game IMO, kid from PC looked a bit out of his depth but needs time to adjust, kid from Forest Green did not get long enough. Early days, stop being such a pessimist.

Least he’s played the game professionally and run a team, all you’ve run is your mouth.
We’ve been running out of games since Xmas, so what, we know what’s coming.
