Lol, Now someone’s suggested getting t-shirts printed with his noggin on.

Just a cheap unfounded and unwarranted shot that awaywego. Won’t bother asking you to explain as I’m sure your reasons will make little sense.
My post wasn’t aimed at you in particular. More on observation from viewing various platforms. Anyhow, this post on Facebook is baffling:
‘Sorry to say but im bored. Bored of reading endless twaddle re buxton with what if’s and but’s. Its now getting monotonous getting notifications on yet more of the same. Bored of reading endless posts re DH. Yes i know we are backing him and I’m sure he has seen the posts and support. But too much of this will only end up causing more grief’
How does endless posts backing him cause more grief? Can’t bloody win with that lot – say anything unsupportive and they jump on you, now more support for him is also a problem. Crackers. Absolutely crackers mate!
Genuine question: if the club is ‘homeless in 6 months’ anyway, isn’t his staying prolonging the inevitable?
Also, and I’m not advocating this, if he did go, might that leave the door open to Swann to negotiate rent with someone he doesn’t dislike?
September 12, 2023 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #271833Deserters Songs-such a good album.
I’m sure all this will become clear when the next accounts are filed. At Companies House. No doubt about it
The trust increases by the day. Hope he stays tbh. Rather he didn’t cut loose.
How much does the club need monthly to keep going? Anybody’s guess. How much would the club lose if he left? Anybody’s guess. How much has he put in already? Anybody’s guess.
The Hilton apologists are doubling down today I see.
This ‘he told a few porkies’ spin is embarassing, frankly.
Add that his flirting with hoolie paraphernalia like Stone Island gear and letting a previously banned supporter with a pending court case and questionable past act as an unofficial spokesperson and it’s no wonder the culture of the supporter base has shifted

Not to such a degree awaywego. IMO, it’s been exacerbated by Hilton setting a bad example in the way he’s jumped on fans with legitimate concerns and questions. To the extent that an increasing number of fans are mimicking an aggressive attitude to those with concerns and those burner accounts that he still hasn’t distanced himself from.

Happy to apologise for the unnecessary ‘grow up’ remark, the rest of my post is a valid response to what I perceive to be dirty spin. If you want to further the spin by insisting I’m telling you how to think, carry on. I’ll not be engaging with it.
‘To summarise the indignant faction:
Lying criminal must leave the club. No ifs no buts.’
What a load of BS. Talk about ‘dirty spin’. You haven’t once engaged in any sensible discussion about the issues raised yesterday. Just joined the emotional rhetoric garbage brigade. Grow up.
It would be good to hear some intelligent discussion on a Bru Podcast about all this to counter sone of the emotional drivel out there from the likes of that Ironworld bloke.
‘happy when the club has gone .. sounds to me like just a shrug of the shoulders for some.’
Disappointing IFA. Do you really believe that? I understand a lot of supporters are legitimately worried that if he leaves the club will fold but that’s not necessarily the case. There’s a Board and steady income with no rent till at less Jan probably later. It’s up to them and him whether he stays or goes. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have opinions on the allegations in the The Atheltic piece and Hiltons response. You mention ‘blase’ and ‘a few porky pies’ in the same breath. Nothing blasé about it but there’s a lot more to it than a few porky pies. Have you read the whole article?

‘I hope they are spitting them in the direction of their own players’
How lovely.
‘You can be the Boston Strangler for me’
And there it is. Nothing he has done will make a jot for some.

Who’s ‘you gullible lot’? There were plenty of supporters up in arms about it but hands tied to actually stop it. Good to see you’re deflecting though. Hilton still not given you anything to worry about yet, past and present?

It wasn’t Siderite I was referring to with my comment on self righteousness but thank you for letting me know what I should be thinking.
A tad self righteous perhaps?
Firstly, I haven’t said what you should be thinking, so the question posed after that is superfluous in my opinion. Thanks.
‘Hope he continues on the path of redemption.’
Serious question JI. At what point have you witnessed this redemption you speak of? Today, after being forced to admit? Sorry, not seeing it mate. Hollow words from him in my opinion.

There’s absolutely no self righteousness in any of Siderite’s posts on this matter today. There’s certainly much deflection from others. It’s easy to take it out on other posters rather than address the detail of the allegations, the most alarming of which Hilton has admitted to after being found out.

The Atheltic is a well respected publication and platform not The Daily Mail. No comparison
I’m sure supporters of the Daily Mail would take issue over that DM but I’m sure your aware of the point I was making about journalism in general, not all goody two shoes, I thought it was a fair point to make .
I got your point – pretty sure it was deflection. The same deflecting you’re usually quite vociferous about – particularly Trump and US politics. But I digress. No wish to move off topic.
I often wonder if some of our supporters just want us to fail and go into liquidation, I also wonder if one of those two posters spinning dirt about Hilton isn’t that journalist.
I seriously doubt any Iron supporter wants the club to be liquidated and this issue is not ‘dirt spinning’. It’s serious allegations that Hilton has now admitted to.

‘He’s a bad man, Deerey I get it.’
Personally, I don’t think you’re getting it. Not fully. But as I-A needlessly keeps reminding us, you are entitled to your opinion.
Seriously wonder how many fans of here and other social media platforms have actually read the article in The Athletic given a lot of the content of the responses? I’d wager a small percentage of those posting comments. This one from the Facebook group sums it up:
‘he’s just a normal guy who had a shit start and made something of him self, suffers with stress and adores his family’
Really?? Ffs!

Share those sentiments, 100%
Anyhow, no worries, I’m sure the new Directors won’t be shy asking him if there are more skeletons in the cupboard. I’d imagine they are pretty concerned about reputational risk, even if many out there are more concerned about having to find something else to do every other Saturday. Bit of exercise might not go amiss for many I reckon.
Not grey activities, ‘grey area of the law’ or words to that effect. Are you suggesting there may not be more than we’ve been told or not more than the Atheletic team have alleged in the article?
