What about the possible victims of his other business activities that ‘operated in a grey area’ as he put it previously. Were they compensated? Did he ‘pay the price’ for all that? Strikes me that those wanging on about second chances (all well and good) are glossing over the fuller aspects.
There’s a lot of doubling down occurring over this across social media when some ought to be showing a bit of contrition.
I hope an emergency board meeting is convened to decide the best course of action. Mr Hilton’s interview didn’t touch on a number of other issues alleged in the Athletic piece, such as the pension provider writing to staff to tell them contributions shown as being made on their payslips not actually being received by them. As for ‘destroying an individual’, don’t make me laugh. No supporter or non-supporter on here or other social media platforms has destroyed him. All they have done is highlight what are now confirmed as facts.

Some really staggering responses on the Facebook group, even by their standards. Don’t think they’re quite grasping the seriousness of it; or don’t care.
If these allegations are not enough for all Iron fans to question his suitability as a football club owner, then I don’t what is. As for those blaming fans that have raised the same concerns as the allegations, they should have a good think about their moral and ethical principles

the biggest fears should be about funds, cash flow, the reputation with supporters, stakeholders and sponsors, and moreover the claim that the allegations are being investigated by the FA, with the potential for serious ramifications if proven.
Try this

It may be too long Pele. I’m not going to attempt it. Iron Age posted a link on the other thread and says the whole article is free to view for non subscribers. Same one as above I think
I think some supporters who have received the worst abuse and harassment across social media for raising concerns deserve some apologies. Past caring what the club owner thinks and says a long time ago.
A very detailed and revealing investigation by @TheAthleticFC into Scunthorpe’s new owner David Hilton/White/Anderson/Mellors who allegedly was previously convicted of fraud.
The FA are looking into the serious allegations. https://t.co/M9etqhZWCq #UTI

I can add that the majority of Iron Bystanders posts were not deleted as they contained nothing potentially libelous. He just presented facts but got a lot of grief in the process. The allegations in the The Athletic will ñot be new news for many.
Its a very long well written article. Some of it public knowledg plus a number of things that have been dismissed as nonsense on here. The biggest allegation is that he’s had 4 names, convicted of fraud and served time for it:
‘An investigation by The Athletic has found that a man we strongly believe to be Hilton was sentenced to two years in prison for 15 counts of fraud by false representation under the name of David Anderson.’

Can you prove that? Provide a link?
Down with that sensible sort of thing!
‘Waving it in my face’ is the new ‘ramming it down my throat’. Neither conjure up sedate images though the first seems less aggressive. Amen.
Maybe their inaction is reflected in their event briefing? Either way, club officials should be raising it with the company in the de-brief
Yes, some not every

‘If there is no God, who cares what you think?’ Pretty nihilistic from such a fundamental Christian. People who don’t believe in God probably care more about what others think as they’re grounded and focused in this world, this planet and others in it. Christians are more interested in their invented next world

Still trying to fathom out why so many humans are despicable though…
‘The wonderful and unique claim of Christianity is that this God made the clearest revelation of his character by coming to the earth to be reviled, humiliated’
Is this Swann or Hilton / White? Both revered as saviour’s by their disciples
‘They ‘REALLY!’ will’, said Bartonscprpions pet parrot. Apologies if said pet has ceased to be.
Interesting. Look forward to hearing my Leeds season ticket holder workmate thinks of him. Hopefully good stuff
Good to hear. Hope he smashes it
Some fair points regarding worthwhile action I reckon. Don’t agree those campaigns shouldn’t happen mind, though actions like Henderson has taken, make a bit of a mockery of it.

‘People really need to stop being so righteous unless they are prepared to something more’
What more specifically do you expect people to do awaywego? Violent action? There’s a history of these sorts of peaceful campaigns helping to bring about change (not on their own so much), quite a number linked to the Trade Union movement, which I assume, as a former shop steward, you saw the merit of? What do you propose people do for it all to be worthwhile in your eyes, Alf?
