The worst squad in the league gets a draw away from home and this is sackable?
    I,d Knight him for that.
I can understand why some might want him to go due to many poor results but for this one is hysteria
I’ll wait until I get invited in for a cosy cuppa before I swallow my principles and let the real culprit off with the head of another sacrificial lamb/manager

2 wins in 32 and you reckon this is Hysteria?

It probably is the worst squad in the league, but that’s no excuse for complete tactical ineptitude costing us 3 points against Sutton, Carlisle and Barrow whilst in leading positions

If anything the supporters have been too soft, with neil being a local lad and the focus being on Swann.

Another step closer to relegation in what is becoming a disastrous season.

Cox will soon lose any goodwill he has with supporters by staying on; Although that decision should have been out of his hands a few games ago.

Honestly think if he stays on we will finish below 30 points.

Definitely worth a go; Cox can’t use the excuse that we are more secure with 5 at the back with our abysmal record.

Stick Jarvis in the middle with Loft and Scrimshaw either and see what happens.

    On talksport tonight too.

A great stunt by those who pulled it off; Bringing the focus of the media onto the club and the way it’s being ran.

we need a player in the style of Paul Hayes or similar.

Keith Hill kind of character we’d be showing much more than we are doing.

I can imagine his wage demands have increased significantly since the stints at Bolton & Tranmere, but if I Swann I’d be using whatever loopholes necessary in getting him in.

    Needs to be gone ASAP.

We could be cut adrift by Halloween and there’s no way this team has the capability of putting 2-3 wins together to get ourselves out of it.

Swann needs to bend whatever rules necessary and bring someone in this week.

Why would 150 fans leaving at half time make the news? Complete waste of time when there were 100 or so happy clappers at the end stood clapping the hopeless cunts off!

Those whose stayed and clapped at the end need to have a word with themselves.

150 people leaving at half time is insignificant, but it’s a start. I expect the biggest form of protest this year to be empty stands. Like I said on another thread, crowds could end up at 1,500 this year.

If Swann goes and the club goes under – what difference will that be to Swann staying?
Based on that thinking – I prefer to see him depart.

Muses. I wonder if Fenty might be available …

I had exactly this argument with a supporter at half time yesterday. He was still adamant we needed Swann in charge as there was no alternative, I thought it was uptheiron at first.

Unless Swann takes a back seat and gets people in who know what they’re doing then we are heading to the conference north, if we are lucky. Crowds will continue to plummet and I made a prediction that we will see sub 2k this year; it could honestly be sub 1,500 if this carries on.

The club is turning toxic and something is going to give soon
We are in a death spiral and something is going to have to give soon.

Some interesting articles out there to read up on.

The one that got me was when he spat his dummy out because the Gainsborough supporters wouldn’t sell him the ground and he stated a football club needs it’s ground for him to invest…

Hard to sum up that performance- definitely the lowest point of watching Scunthorpe over the years.

There’s no point even debating tactics/formations anymore; this team WILL finish bottom of the league as nearly everyone is not league standard. No new manager coming in will change that.

Cox is horrifically out of his depth and needs to walk. His record speaks for itself.

This won’t be the low point either

Can see a passive aggressive plea for supporters to return.

If it’s not about handing control over or transferring the assets back then he’s wasting his breath.

I agree, it gets more embarrassing for Cox by the week.

But even if someone squeezed every ounce of potential out of these lads, I still don’t think we’d finish much higher than 20th. They are just not good enough and it’s a chronic lack of investment from Swann towers.

Remember, we finished 22nd last year with Eisa, Gillead, Van Veen, Mcgahey, Bedeau, Clarke in the team. I honestly think this lot could finish below 30 points and we won’t have anyone score above 5 goals.

I’d rather see these young lads given a go over the anonymous loanees any day of the week; however let’s be honest, it’s not going to make a blind bit of difference. They will get steamrollered by most league 2 sides.

We will be cut adrift by Halloween and there’s no way- even with a new gaffer- we will get out of it. Squad is a complete shambles and they resemble nothing of a league 2 team. Changing formations and bringing in different players is like rearranging the deck chairs in the titanic.

Does that mean I’ll have to go in the home end?

Never done it before but tempted with this one.

Looking at the initial allocation I should’ve ordered a ticket straight away. Seems to be a couple of hundred light on what they usually allocate though

Hypothetical, but if the revenue get’s so low that staff can’t be paid and the owner doesn’t give / lend the funds, a club goes in to administration doesn’t it? If a new owner doesn’t come along it folds doesn’t it?

That’s exactly the road we are heading down. Performances on the pitch are almost irrelevant.

We have budgeted for 3-3,500 fans per game and are currently almost missing a third of projected revenue.

None of our anger should be directed towards the management/players. Cox is a decent bloke who will be hurting as much as us; he appears well out of his depth but that’s not his fault. Nor the players who are clearly trying, but again, just not league standard.

A protest has to be a United from amongst the little supporters there are left. Organised for a certain time and promoted by those with a decent reach on social media The iron bru podcast, Iron trust, max bell etc. Momentum will build if it appears enough are interested.

Personally, I’ve had enough of the laughing stock we’ve become. A non league stint will hurt but it’s always inevitable when you are one of the smaller clubs in the football league, I can live with that. I can’t stand the fact we’ve had our assets stripped for a debt incurred by an egomaniacs spending spree.

2,500 there yesterday with a healthy 500 following from Vale. Already looking at below 2k home fans

Terrace was practically empty and I’m
Sure season ticket holders aren’t bothering

Its safe to assume that Swann won’t be covering any more losses so the question is: how long can we continue before the administrators are called in?

    Okay. Very bad timing but
Not a great team but a willing one. They just need to be organised and we’ll escape the drop.
Anybody who is capable of organising out there?
    McMahon?
    Andy Crosby anyone?

    Disagree Les.

Think we are 3/4 players short of having a fighting chance at staying up. We are lacking so much quality it’s frightening.

Carlisle were woeful today and were there for the taking, the management should have been drilling into the players to chase the 3rd but it was obvious that wasn’t the case.

Why couldn’t we play the ball to feet in the middle as we was first half and take the extra touch to find Jarvis who was doing a good job holding the ball up? We have such a weak mentality and you could see the equaliser coming a mile off.

You can’t help individual errors-and Beestin really needs to be having a word himself Tonight- but for me there is a long-standing mentality with a Cox team to sit back 15-20 yards and park the bus whilst hoping for the best as soon as we get a lead.

    It’s not good enough.

I don’t think anything of the sort, CB, on many posts I have said scunny fans are the worst and your post amongst many more back this up fickle or what? And obviously we must be different to everyone else from what you and others are posting, some haven’t been back since we sold Barrie Thomas, or won’t go until we get rid of any manager of the day, BS boycotting if we played Novac the list goes on and on. Don’t go because we’re playing shite or your not being entertained, but because Swann is chairman give over.

How is it being fickle? It’s the stone cold truth. It makes a depressing read but that is the reality of the situation.

I’m still going most weeks but I certainly don’t blame those choosing to staying away.

Also, Lincoln were pulling in gates of 2.5k before their FA cup run and Grimsby had regularly not gone above 4K despite both having sufficiently larger fan bases/catchment areas. Hardly unique to Scunny.

If you think attendances will spike in the national league then you are completely deluded.

We started off with 2,800 home fans at Swindon and currently losing a couple of hundred fans every home game. It’s pretty obvious we will be looking at sub 2k gates this year which is unsustainable.

I, like many on here, know of previous season ticket holders/casual fans who will not step foot in GP whilst Swann is chairman.

If we go down then attendances will most likely Plateau at 1,500 with only the diehards who will watch us regardless.

With such a young team and especially after last season it was imperative we got off to a good start. After last season’s dismal runs I have no confidence in Cox to be able to turn it around, his motivational post match bollockings- whilst showing at least he cares- often failed to our form around.

Most importantly I just don’t think we have enough quality to get 2/3 wins on the bounce or sustain any meaningful form. Tranmere aside, we are almost always the second best team on the pitch.

If we end up adrift early doors that will be curtains on 72 years of Football league history.

The value from today’s match ticket came in the form of watching Millen trying to track their winger first half.
