Hopefully a late flurry of sales tomorrow and we can have 600+ there.350 sold so far.

Only an Hour away with no other localish games in sight.
It’s more hope than expectation but 750 should be achievable.
In fairness, we had a loan GK who was meant to first choice for the season and got injured after 45 mins. Up to that point Rory had not really shown enough to be deserving of a start in the team.
Thought it was common knowledge that he was told he could find a new club?
Decent enough point in the end. Disappointed we couldn’t keep the ball better as we did in the first half
Created more chances than usual, but just seemed to run out of stream and ideas.
Good to see an extra 500 home fans on the gate. Hopefully a few more positive results and we can return to the dizzying heights of 3k

Would prefer a 4-4-2. Just a question of who goes on the wings.

Be interesting to see how we line up. No Davis limits the opportunity for 3 at the back; Despite Cox’s thoughts, Rowe is not a centre back.

How time and hindsight improves the rose tint on those specs. Godden, Wootton & Goode had plenty of chances here and did little to impress. Arguably both Godden & Wootton were lucky to get the contract extensions they did. Godden eventually found his touch and Wootton his level. Goode has improved from donkey to passable L1 CB. No doubt those calling for the moving on of Hallam, KDT, Green, O’Neil et al will be claiming we made a big mistake letting them go in the unlikely event that they come good elsewhere.
Exactly.
Wootton in particularly had a good opportunity here whilst in League 1. He just wasn’t good enough, at the time. He also failed to impress at numerous loan spells in non league.
Luckily for him, it’s clicked at Notts County and he may well be ready for another crack at league football.
The Charlie Goode story truly baffles me though. Couldn’t believe it when I saw him On MOTD the other night.
Fair play to him.

B team boycott.
The competition has been ruined, you only have to look at how many clubs have had record low attendances since the reforms. Need to kick out the B-teams and get rid of the group stage.
I put that to Swann last night. The response was it’s hurting our club by supporters not going.
Totally missing the point once again.
The CEO explained that half of those who completed the survey stated COVID was the main reason they won’t return. That’s still only around 200 people. Another 1,000 are still missing.
I took from the suggestion of another board member that it could possibly some
Form of fan representation.Just back from the meeting with season ticket holders. ( much preferred having 30 in a room as opposed to 150)
Put to him the question about the missing 1,000, which was the main theme of the evening; can’t say I’m overly enthused about the efforts going on behind the scenes to entice fans back. Seems to be solely reliant on Hill turning the form around.
Definitely still believe Swann doesn’t understand the resentment built towards him and where it’s come from. Until he, and his staff, accept the reasons behind this and try to address it, we are going to struggle to average above 3,000.
There was the odd useful insight, but like most others, it’s actions rather words which are going to sway my opinion from now on.
Can’t see it happening but would be a very good signing if true. Loan deal or permanent ?
Is there any quotes from Loft stating he wants to leave, or is it just hearsay at the moment ?
Fingers crossed then forgotten that Keith Hill can turn it around and get you and a few more back.

I think we’ll be out numbered
So can I.
Can’t ask for anymore with this appointment.
I’m not expecting immediate results as He will need backing in January; this squad is still woefully short of being a competitive league 2 team.
22nd place and it’s job done for me, this year anyhow.

If Swann appoints this Jimmy Ball with his only experience coming from being the Vegans under 18’s manager, he’s pretty much signed our death warrant.
Pleased to see Hill still as the favourite, although not sure if this is just money going on him rather anything substantial.
Still torn with the potential of Adkins being appointed; heart says yes, Head says no. Really Don’t want his legacy tarnishing and it’s a totally different setup to the one he inherited in 2006

Took him up on the offer and I suggest others do the same.

Ultimately, he was clearly out of depth. The budget constraints are a large mitigating factor, but that doesn’t excuse : Baffling interviews, tactical incompetence and poor man management; I don’t think he knew how to get a tune out of the modern day footballer, a bollocking on Humberside only works once in a blue moon. The negativity – especially in leading positions – cost us valuable points at Carlisle, Barrow and Sutton, the blame there for me has to lie with Cox.
Don’t wish any ill towards him and perhaps he will make a decent go of it as an assistant somewhere. Just the wrong bloke at the wrong time here.

Out of the list of candidates, if it’s not Keith Hill then Swann has signed our death warrant.
Even then it’s a case of if he has enough time, and money in January.
I expect the cheapest option and the supporters getting the blame

I don’t know why you bother trying to break games down anymore wondergoals.
Our tactics can be summed up by watching videos on the opposition, having a good week in training and sticking 5 at the back.
The Crawley win has almost hindered us because it’s bought Cox another month in the job.

Good to see the club at least getting something out there to receive feedback. Million dollar question is whether they actually do anything with it.
Thought Hackney and Hippolyte had their best game for us on Saturday, but neither should be starting in front of Beestin.
Been impressed with Pugh thus far; offers us energy and bite in the midfield which the others sometimes lack.

You’re the one complaining about how long the current attendances can last for. The new chief executive seems to be more proactive in gaining supporter feedback so I suggest you contact her via email regarding the blue badge issue.
The answer to your original question is that Swann will have to cover the losses this season and then the budget will get slashed further next year.
Never thought I’d see a time when gates consistently fell below 2,200 on a Saturday.
With the state of the club at the moment I won’t begrudge those that choose to stay away. Hopefully an upturn in form will entice a few hundred back.
Enjoyed the performance today.
Solid first half after that shaky opening spell. Midfielders seemed more fluid and put together some good moves which deserved more. Agree with the above comments that hippo had his best game for us. In fact, it was the best I’ve seen the midfield look this year. Couldn’t really see if Loft got a touch for the goal but it was a good move nonetheless and a nice ball from Millen.
Opening 20 minutes reminded me of watching Scunthorpe teams of old under the first Lawsy era. Suddenly, we played to home advantage and made the Glanford park look tiny for the Crawley players who couldn’t catch their breath. Tenacious in the middle and battling for everything whilst actually playing intelligent through balls for Scrimshaw who took his opportunity well. Felt f**king good when he slotted that home.
Last 20 minutes were awful to watch and I, like the ground, was expecting the inevitable 2nd. Cox said at full time the players retreated deeper not under instruction and need to start believing in themselves. Firstly: Cox has to have leaders in the pitch to ensure this doesn’t happen or convey the message that we cannot hang on with over a quarter of the game to go; Secondly, he needs to start believing in his team which I don’t think he does fully.
Honourable mention for Onarisie and Watson whom were both outstanding.
Not at least by those in the stands.
I thought he was excellent again today, 2 crucial saves in the first half and an excellent command of his area. Muzzy has clearly improved his game which is good to see.

Not for me.
He has absolutely nothing to gain from a career standpoint in coming here and I Don’t want to see another Scunny hero’s reputation ruined.
But have Neil’s inadequacies as a manager ruined his playing reputation? I would say not. Similarly Nigel would be in a win win situation with regard to his standing as an Iron legend. Let’s not forget when he left he hauled Southampton from the bottom of league one to the premiership. His reward was to be replaced by Pochettino, albeit after our then Chairman said that the Saints weren’t a club he would recommend doing business with – perhaps Nigel should’ve heeded his advice.
If Nigel takes us down to the national league then his reputation is forever tarnished. Lawsy, Wilcox, Dawson, Cox, Alexander have all seen their reputation deteriorate since managing under Swann.
I’m fully with Wondergoals on this one about somehow convincing Keith Hill to come here. He’s used to working on a limited budget and Will know what it takes to get a side organised and competitive in League 2. I expect his wages demands will be significantly higher than we can afford, but that’s up for Swann to sort out

Hey, I’m not forgiving Swann one bit. He’s made a complete mess of things and I’ve no intention of defending him.
My point very simply is that the financial position of the club has gone from not very good, but manageable, before covid to complete disaster following it. Nobody can be blamed for that, even Swann.
How was it ever manageable when were spending 150% on wages from our turnover. The only scenario in which that can ever work long term is if the owner covers the losses with personal wealth- abramovich at Chelsea for example.
The writing was on the wall when Phil Parkinson was moaning pre season that ourselves and Bury were outspending the likes of Bradford on wages.
