We have a degree of consistency, we consistently fail to perform against teams set up to frustrate us.

Once again mugged by a team lacking skill but overflowing with effort, how many more times can we afford that? Nobody worth more than a 5 and several 4s tonight, very disappointing.
    Question:-
If Butterfield is surrounded by 3 players everytime he gets the ball that surely means we have 2 unmarked, where were they?

    Barrows stepped in effortlessly

People will hate me for what I’m about to type but Barrows is an improvement on Ogle. I like Ogle as he’s tough who never stops running but Barrows is the better footballer.

Absolutely no reason to hate you just because your opinion differs from mine. However doubts about your sanity are a different matter entirely. Ogle has proved his quality over a season and a bit, (POY awards?) Barrows has had a couple of decent games.

In my case it’s appreciation not adulation and certainly not canonisation.

He’s brought in significant advertising revenue over the years. If he doesn’t have spare cash to put in (and I guess not many do) then he’s doing what he can to help the Club. Can’t see why his contribution seems to upset one or two.

A great watch, easily the best away performance of the season, more please.
A slight criticism, if I’m allowed, I thought we missed a fair few shooting opportunities around the edge of the box, need to be a bit braver. (said Neil Cox)
Kelly played RB when Ogle was injured earlier, although he’s a leftie I still think he’s better than Barrows.

A following of 220 Scunny fans out of a crowd of 900 should be praised for going all the way to Bedfordshire, and making themseles heard throughout, well done guys.

They did well to make themselves heard from Bedfordshire, what were they watching? :-)

Kelly is far too good to bench warm in NLN.

Ever thought of looking on the OWS or SUFC twitter for information?

I watched the NL stream and got Radio Lincs commentary, lucky we don’t get that every week. Similar level to Carparts Wishart and Jed Clampett.

I hope you’re on a wind up. Come off the back of 12 goals and 6 points and now following one questionable performance you’re now questioning the whole midfield ?

Only as good as your last performance, they can’t spend the rest of the season remembering how good they were against Spennymoor and BS. Aren’t fans allowed to be disappointed?

Shoddy performance all round. Shambolic defending, even Fitz spilled a few, Boston looked like scoring every time they attacked and we’d have conceded plenty against a better team. Midfield didn’t function, all miles off their best. Fitz regularly kicking long, presumably under instruction, didn’t help. (Another new Jimmy tactic that didn’t work?) Whitehall hardly kept the ball and therefore didn’t bring others into play. Two shots on target all game I think, not good enough and a lucky point IMO.

I’ll be with NLI on this one, just a short update would have been nice especially when there asking for everyone to help out it’s got to work both ways for everyone.

You need to make your mind up! Do you remember posting this:-
“we must cut the owners a bit of slack and not demand updates willy nilly.”

That’ll be the end of any positive contribution from Eisa then. He’ll be off when Hurst gets another job.

It was a bit more scrappy than Tuesday. I reckon that with Clunan in – we really would have made double figures.
Interesting to know what the prior agreed fee for Smith is should we want to keep him.

£150k quoted at time of signing. Unlikely in our position, but, anyway, would he play when Clunan, Beestin and Roberts fit?

He has not exactly shone for a 30 goal a season striker.

For the very reasons I mentioned. Can’t see Bayern giving Harry Kane a run out wide any time soon. We’ve been crying out for a 20 goal a season striker for several seasons, we’ve got one and don’t use him – bizarre!!

Yes, but only because he’s not being used correctly. He’s neither a wide player nor a lone striker.

Or they could have part time players getting a fraction of what ours are earning.
Around 25 full timers plus management and associated jobs versus 20 P/T and vastly less non playing/management staff.
    Just a thought.

I would hope any leavers won’t weaken the team, Butterfield will be a top earner but has to stay. Unfortunately I doubt Pugh & DSF will save much and we don’t know the terms of the loans. Were they just to cover injuries – Clunan & Law now fit and Beestin & Roberts close.
Can we afford Chapman when he doesn’t make the squad? We need a No2 but there must be a cheaper option or rely on an emergency loan.
Was Bennett signed as a Whitehall replacement, York reportedly interested.
Was Barrows signed as we expected Ogle to leave?

…more so i hope non of the first team regulars leave as mentioned by Chris Plummer on the club website ..be a real shame.

It’s possible that the new board will feel it necessary to reduce outgoings by reducing squad size. As has been said many times we are top heavy for a NLN team.
Any transfer fee received would also be welcome you would think. Sadly some of the higher earners might be encouraged to contact their agents. In our current situation we will have to accept some unpopular decisions, we have been warned already.

I remember Jimmy Hill as a sub lino. at the OSG. (It could have been GP, my memory isn’t that good)

Are you sure? This was the famous time he did it…

No, at my age I’m not sure of anything. If nobody else remembers it then it might have been a dream.

Well done to the ‘moors players too. We’ve had several seasons with a team whose heads dropped at 1 down. They were still trying at 5-0.
