    Simon, Ian, George or Geoff?
Will Keith Waters be coming back?

It should be more apparent in midweek games you’d think. Plenty of Sat-Tue coming up so let’s hope we can take advantage of the FT training.

Still asking a lot Booba with only Whitehall and Elliot as our only strikers. Our squad in terms of numbers is pretty strong everywhere else apart from up front.

You maybe don’t rate Bennett but you shouldn’t ignore him.

Managers see PL teams, how they play, and then try to copy them.
You can’t play PL tactics with NL players.

Yes, committing to contracts, probably above usual NLN level, and then refusing to honour them (no more cash going in) was probably not such a smart move. (Not for the Club anyway.)

“On a related note could someone ask Whitehall to occasionally win the ball and do something with it instead of constantly sitting on his arse and claiming he has been fouled. Officials and opposition coaches are well aware this is his default tactic so it rarely results in a free kick even when he is fouled.”

    This!!

I remember Jimmy Hill as a sub lino. at the OSG. (It could have been GP, my memory isn’t that good)

He needs to be told that the time for anecdotes is not when play is in progress, George Kerr was a shocker for doing that. Also ” he’s going through” isn’t much help!! Who is? Even which team he plays for would help. Maybe he’ll recognise our players by the end of the season.

What happened to the 999 (or was it 99) year lease and “no rent until the club could afford it”?

Hackney no great shakes when he was here IMO. Performances closer to Ugbo than Cork/Lansbury. Maybe he thought he was too good for Scunny but we’ll take the credit for helping his career.
Always wished we could have signed Crookes – quality. If only.

Good spot Ferrite! We have had a number of players recently who don’t stand out when playing but their absence often results in a perceived poor team performance.

Don’t forget he will be part of the unpopular but necessary decisions we have been promised by the board. If he has a mind to apologise then he might do it all at once.

It doesn’t disappoint me Cass we all have different views, I just can’t forgive Turnbull for threatening the protesters with police action after telling me personally he was in it for the fans, and I don’t trust Sharp if he gets fed up he’s made it quite clear he wants the money he puts in back

    Two things in response:-
There is little doubt in my mind that LT was a mouthpiece and spoke under instruction. I’d consider what he told you represents his true feelings.
If Ian Sharpe loaned the money to pay the wages then of course he would expect it back. We don’t know the terms of the arrangement do we?

I don’t think anyone should be happy till we’ve driven him and Turnbull from the club and not forgetting Sharp either.

I’m very happy to have all 3 with us, sorry if that disappoints you but I think they all have something to offer. Supporting the previous chairman does not necessarily indicate agreement with his plans and actions. Would you like to suggest your preferred alternatives.

If you need me to point that out then you haven’t been paying attention. Ask Cyndi.

No, you’re right and his true colours have been revealed. However, had he not stepped in in January where would we be now. He bought us some time.

So the new board, with less than 48 hours in office, are already the target of people seeking to promote division amongst supporters. UNITY is what we need.

That consideration is giving Swann far too much credit for which he deserves none. Don’t forget he stole the ground because of his mismanagement (and his mismanagement only) and was quite happy to let us be wound up whilst keeping the stadium firmly in Coolsilks hands.

I understand the anger and the lack of credit due to him… but if you were absolutely correct he wouldn’t be negotiating now, would he?

He said he’d GIVE the ground back, that should be easy to negotiate.

I also applaud Jimmy. He seems to appreciate how precious (if unstable) a job in professional football is. Far too many in his position regard it as ‘having made it’ so no further effort required. I still think a few shifts at the steelworks (or similar depending on location) would show those lucky enough to be paid, for what many of us did for nothing, how fortunate they are and how they should work to protect what they have.

When Hilton “saved” the club he was an instant hero with supporters. Things started to go downhill later when many early rumours became reality.
It is likely that any new owner(s) will immediately be hailed similarly, lets hope the hero status is more permanent this time.
(I appreciate that any new owner will not receive 100% approval – that’s life!!)

Strange you can only find the bits that suits your position.
Out of interest, when you were a shop steward did you represent all employees or just the members of your union?

No CT “a representative voice for supporters” unless of course you have to be a member to be a supporter.

The Iron Trust (Scunthorpe United Supporters Society) aims are:
Ensure fans are legal as well as moral stakeholders in the club, by owning shares and representing members at shareholder meetings.
Work to improve communication between our members and senior management at the club, ensuring a supporter voice is heard before key decisions are made. Informing policy-making at the club.
Contribute towards the long-term success of Scunthorpe United Football Club

Not according to the Trusts objectives CT and in their rules. I can take it you’ve read them.

Yes, over 10 years ago when I joined. You’ll have to remind me what is said but the word “members” crops up I think.

Info could be for members only, that’s normally how things work I think.

This could be an opportunity for Nic Dakin to take the lead and regain his MP seat. It would be more effective than any manifesto promises or door knocking I reckon and secure legendary status amongst the population of Scunthorpe.
