The aim is SUSTAINABILITY with a view to ensuring our club has a long term future. I’d suggest “whatever it takes” is not an unreasonable course to achieve that.
Still thinking about it. I went 0-5 in the PL for Newcastle away so I might have to temper my optimism this time. I’ll wait for team news this time I think.
Like your set up IFA but doubt Butler will.
Having learned (I hope) from the Newcastle tie I expect Fitz to start. Nicholson (ex Guiseley and long throw) in for The Fish and we might not be far away. Can’t place him, Cass.
Does he have a physical presence?Well he’s solid to the touch les, were you hoping for a player that could ghost past defences?
MK above mirrors my view, our passing has been woeful but, as I said, he’s only one of those I think we need. I’m with you re the big midfielder, I always prefer a bit of beef in there. Sadly Evans has only some of what is required and is certainly not the solution. I was hoping Brogan might be but it looks like Butler is not convinced. The original opinion with which you disagreed was “far from convinced with our midfield.” Do we take it then that you are content with a midfield that includes Will Evans?
Possibly the KUTA we needed? A touch of complacency, or is it just that we can’t pass?
If perks like that can be included in the Sustainability model then I’m sure they’ll come back. We all knew that sacrifices would have to be made.
Blimey!! Questions on a post before it’s been posted. That’s some talent AWG.

What I find concerning is, that of all Butler’s summer signings, only one has established himself as a regular starter. (As I’ve said elsewhere, if he didn’t have a long throw it could be none of them) That must call the recruitment questionable at best, effectively we are expecting a first time manager to turn last seasons non-promotion winners into a promotion winning team. Is that realistic or do we need to find and sign two or three guaranteed starters to give us the boost we (possibly) need?

Worried he might tell a few tales?
4 decent CBs and it seems Butler doesn’t want to disappoint any of them. Maxi has done him a favour by being suspended. IMO if Nicholson didn’t have a long throw he’d be the one to miss out.

I don’t like 3 CBs but it’s worked so far, 4 is just ridiculous. How do Brogan, Rowley & Shrimpton feel being behind Evans for a midfield start?
Have a good trip, have a great day and bring back the points. Cheers (but not too many)
Because fans who travel won’t have to get up at silly o’clock to get there,
An hour and a half to Guiseley by car/coach, shouldn’t be a problem getting up surely.
The early kickoff for only £2000 TV money should leave most fans happy that they haven’t chose us.
It’s likely we’ll sell out our allocation which surely means that “most fans” won’t be able to watch the game. How will that make them happy?
From AB’s pre match interview it looks like we will be without Whitehall (groin) and possibly Scales (dead leg) on Saturday, with Carlton is awaiting the results of a scan. We may be a little light!
Fitzsimons
Barrows Evans Boyce Nicholson Denton
Roberts Clunan Brogan
Fishburn Beestin
Subs Kuoguan, Kelly, Law, Rowley, Shrimpton, Campbell.Starting 11 not too shabby, bench a striker light but not doom & gloom IMO.
Time to get a loanee in?Only the same as one of our owners saying the money was a loan
Entirely different. If things are as reported (aren’t they always?) an original donation appears to have become a loan when the donor became aware of the history of who he had donated it to. I don’t blame him.
” club spokesman said: “The first of the initial six-figure backing has arrived. Utilising the contacts of the backer, these players have been brought in on a sustainable level. The money is in donations, not in loans, so the club will always remain sustainable.”
Oh aye?
“Warrington Town can confirm it has accepted the resignation of Mark Beesley from his role as manager.”
Seemed to know what he was doing at the AA and players clearly doing what he wanted.
Another job lined up maybe?Someone else who wont be there then
Well, will you?
you’re, won’t. I’ll not be there either, will you?
“Club targeting single punters dropped the price for them, costing me and families more than for a league game 1 senior 2 kids, From being free for kids under 12 last season they now want £5 each wtf.”
Possibly down to the FA rules rather than the club’s decision?

Butler has said that our substitutes don’t weaken the team. Today makes me disagree, did any of the’changes’ make a case for a league start? Not IMO, were there just too many ‘substitutes’?
Are the FA not interested in this ‘potential’ situation?
“On 18 June 2024, Gibson stepped up a level to join National League North club Hereford.[34]
On 9 September 2024, it was announced that Gibson had signed for Northern Premier League club Matlock Town for an undisclosed fee, with work commitments cited as the reason for his sudden departure for Hereford”Players stepping down a division? Has a familiar ring to it. For ‘work commitments’ read ‘more money’ possibly?
It’s not “garbage” it’s an opinion. They are allowed on a forum, you don’t have to agree.

Passing and decision making can be poor at times, however, we need to remember that the players are regional football standard. If they were better, they’d be playing higher up the football pyramid
Some, far too much, of our passing was pub league standard. I could accept NLN standard as a minimum, don’t forget some of these players have played above NLN.
