Maybe Russ has learned from his mistakes? Absolutely nothing wrong with a manager changing his tactics to improve results.

I knew a post like this (not necessarily from you) was incoming.

    Happy to oblige.

Yeah, promotion and a modicum of success would be a real downer… lol

    Alexander was doing well, then…

    It’s been downhill ever since.

Whoever ends up in charge in the future won’t last long before the world class tacticians on here start wagging their fingers and suggesting a ‘better’ way to coach

Well Nicholson, Maxi and Boyce all started so, unless somebody is playing out of position, probably not.

Jumpers for goalposts I heard. No wonder we won. None of that goal post malarkey like this highfalutin modern football.

There is only you out the whole fanbase who seems content with Butler’s formation. Everybody else must be wrong, Deerey.

You misunderstood then. It’s less about being ‘content’ with the current formation Butler chooses; more an observation how a number of posters on Bru nearly always know better, despite any, as far as I’m aware, experience of playing or coaching at professional level. Not like I didn’t didn’t question the number of defenders being picked in the starting eleven before it became the main reason things were going pear shaped, for many. It’s this absolute certainty I see being bandied about, leading to extreme solutions like sacking the manager again that I’m pointing out.

An alternative way to reach an identical conclusion is that the results at the moment are simply dreadful.
    There. I didn’t even mention ‘fo……..ns’.

The only thing certain about The Iron these days, is that they everyone will always find a way to blame the manager. Fact is, we are in a crappy league, with crappy opponents. We should be good enough to beat them all, but we are not. But that is why we are where we are. We have been severely asset stripped by not one, but two dodgy owner/chairmen. Now we are where we are, because that is where we belong. To get back to where we were, will take a lot of time and a great deal of investment. We have the facilities of a club too big for this league, but unless we find an urgently needed money donor, we will eventually have to make the club shrink.

About the same amount of managerial experience as Butler then, aside from a spell with the Doncaster divas before he got the sack and putting the cones out for Jimmy last year.

Having playing experience does not automatically give someone the skill set to be a manager, let alone a decent one. Would you trust an air hostess to fly your plane?

What assets? And what did they strip? Especially Hilton, wasn’t a single asset remaining when he came in unless of course you know different and can tell me.
And we shouldn’t need a money donor with the attendances and the revenue that brings in, though I would welcome it, non of this sustainable shite for me.
The facilities though not ours anymore are mainly maintained by volunteers and freebies so don’t see a problem there,
Shrinking the club can’t come soon enough for me being too top heavy for along time Hilton tried to address it, getting rid of the academy, shutting the restaurant
at the time when it was mainly used by the players, outsourced the match day catering, tried with the stewarding and was going to part time the shop and ticket office.
So that just leaves us needing a manager that can win us promotion, failing that a manager that can at least send a team out to entertain the crowd, hoped it would be Butler but that looks highly unlikely at the moment even has you say it’s a crappy league with crappy teams.

So this went from being a very well run, little club, that often punched above its weight. To being a slightly bigger fish in a shitty little pond, and you think there was never any assets to be stripped away by two unscrupulous club owners?? As for closing the academy.. Do you really believe that was a good idea? We can’t afford to buy any decent players, so let’s get rid of any chance of developing any. The Iron has been right to the very edge of extinction, and it is because of two dodgy chairmen, not any of our managers.

We have a pretty long recent history of not bringing players on.
