Has anyone mentioned the very soft penalty decision?

No not a pen for me

I can’t believe that you’re suggesting that VAR came up with the wrong decision!!

You all said you wanted fan engagement and the first chance you have you all bottle it. How surprising. But don’t worry some fans will take it on, then you will be able to slag them off for been club stooges.

Nobody is ‘bottling it’ merely questioning its value. How would you answer the questions posed in my earlier post above?

Kyle Walker MOM for me, well done lads.
With the possible exception of Chris Iwelumo, isn’t the fella Brathwaite the worst international No 9 you’ve ever seen?

Would a Fans Panel be necessary if management read Iron Bru and took on board some (not the obvious anti-club/anti-Swann offerings) of the many valid points raised on here in recent years? Will it make any difference if (for example) catering issues are raised face to face rather than reported on a regular basis on this board?

    Cynical view again.
Will those selected to sit on the Fans Panel be the same people chosen to ask prepared questions at the Fans Forum?

    Fans not customers.
Support the 11 players on the pitch at every game. They represent Scunthorpe United whether you like it or not.
    It’s really that simple.

I’ve said before I support the club, can’t help it, but I cannot support players that don’t care – they don’t deserve it. Perhaps some of them needed reminding that they’re representing Scunthorpe United and not just turning up on match days to collect their money.

So Karacan replaced, McGahey replaced and Clarke replaced. So just Howard, Eisa, Gillead, KVV, Olomola/Mooney and Brown to go. Looks like we’ve started from the back, GK excepted, now time to move further forward for players to win us games rather than stop us losing.

Don’t forget the kits were chosen by supporters (UTI99 + 4) rather than Bruers who are not considered supporters by some as they have a tendency to criticise from time to time. “Real” supporters have still to find anything of which to be critical it seems.

“The way the Cods have gone about keeping the fans onside after relegation to Non League is worthy of note too”

Keeping the fans onside, an interesting concept indeed. Could we try that here now or will we have to wait until the following season.

Or you could buy a membership, last years shirts (very cheap) or pre-order next seasons third kit. Whatever you decide PLEASE buy something.

How many home goals in recent seasons, Cass?

Not too many certainly, just have to temper bills overenthusiasm with a little reality.

a legendary manager to transform the club and give us years and years of unbelievable times, thrilling football ,nearly 400 home league goals in ten glorious years

So an average of less than 40 home goals per season, less than 2 per game.
Thrilling football? Hardly sets the pulse racing does it?

If we look in the right areas for loans we could be OK. We’ve done well with players from Forest & Huddersfield for example but less well with loanees from Prem clubs.

Some people still wouldn’t be happy if he won the Euro’s and the World Cup. They’ve made up their minds about him along time ago and that’s that.

Something of the kind goes on much closer to home, there’s still a chance to change a few minds though.

Cox happy with Hippo at LB last year and there’s sure to be a young CM who could play RB as we seem to try that every year. Don’t panic it’s all under control I’m sure.

Squad finalised in January perhaps? I’ve given up hope of getting all the replacements we need before the first game but surely a GK and striker are a must in the next few days, we could probably raise a passable (just) 5-4-1 at the moment.

    “Bedeau to the Premier League”

Should read ‘Bedeau to a Premier League club’ surely. He’ll never make a PL player in any position IMO. He just likes claret & blue it seems, must have a load of socks and underwear he can’t afford to throw away.

If Karacan expects to be playing in L2 next season might it be a good idea to revise his contract offer?

From a Cox interview on the OWS:-

“I seem to have been travelling all around the country speaking to players and agents and we’ve got two over the line now.”

Some might be tempted to ask if the chief scout could have narrowed things down a bit, but it seems the manager might be unfamiliar with modern technology as a possible alternative to travel.

You’d expect an increase in business across the board (possible exception SUFC) as plenty of players will be without income from 1st July. Can’t see many lower league players wanting to be unpaid for long if, as is normal, they’ve been living up to their income. Unfortunately it looks like we’ll be waiting for those who get really desperate after a month.

“They all played well apart from Kane.”

I think I only saw Rice twice, does that mean that he goes about his job quietly without fuss or that he has no influence on the game at all?

As well as 8 new signings I see the Cods have unveiled their new shirts (Macron) and they’re on sale from Saturday. On the other hand we’re still pushing last seasons kits for sale.

Further confirmation of the relationship (or lack of ) between the club and the Telegraph.
    From an article on Millen:-
“According to the Daily Record, they’ve joined Northampton Town in the fight to land Millen”
“BBC Radio Humberside have also reported that Scunthorpe will hold talks with Millen on Thursday over a possible move.”
So all second hand information for the poor old SET.

Utility players (know which area of the pitch to stand in when playing in their various positions) are invaluable to teams operating on a tight budget.

25 games in 3 years at Killie so he should be nice and fresh. At 6’2″ could he be covering CB as well as FB?

    Hmm!
Ten games in, Cox and Lillis sacked, McMahon given manager’s job with new U18s coach as assistant.
    Method in the madness?
    [/quote]

A potential flaw in that plan. 10 games in, The Iron unbeaten and 4 points clear at the top leaves us overstaffed with coaches. Yeah, OK, maybe not.
