The last shareholders’ meeting was nothing more than a performative box ticking exercise. Do any of us know exactly what has been invested/loaned by the Directors, because it is not at all clear from club accounts or public statements? The pitch seems to have been funded by a combination of a PL grant and a Director’s loan.
Wiithout The Trust we would not have a Club to support and supporters need to remember this. The Trust battled to get SUFC made a community asset and did far more than our directors towards this. Also making shares available for our fans to purchase. Alright, so this funding page for our Kevin Keegan has not taken off as expected but we need to remember many of our fans do not have sufficient money to put a large amount into this. Ask why have our directors, most of them in business, not put say £1000 in each to set the ball rolling. Let’s face it their matchdays are free experiences for them including food and drinks and guests whereas we everyday supporters pay for every matchday and support the catering and bars and purchasing programmes and merchandise. I keep asking myself are our directors putting enough funds into our Club for what they get out of it.
Tell us you don’t know how much the directors have given and loaned the club without telling us you’ve got no idea how much they’ve loaned the club. Most of it they’ll never see again.
Believing the Iron Trust have done more to save our club than Michelle and co is both divisive and bonkers.
I’d much rather the Directors continue to plough money (take the fantastic pitch for instance) rather than a statue/garden for KK. I’d bet he would have done too.
Buy a few shares, attend the next Shareholders meeting and state your beliefs.
