Disappointing to read the article and learn he’s not played since September 2020. How close to match fit can he be?

Loan or permanent SST? Here for Tuesday? Wiki has him with about 1 in 6 games. Ex-Blackburn so looks like a Hill choice.
Ah right so Cox didn’t sign Billson, Millen, Davis, Thompson, Kenyon, Scrimshaw, Wood, Hackney?
You’re a bit behind, Cox isn’t the manager anymore. I’m sure you know how many of those were Swann snr/jnr signings, the only ones Cox admitted to were Hippo and KDT.

I can’t believe that. After getting new owners I thought they’d be storming the league.
At least they have some nice food to keep the ‘customers’ happy. If a club has new owners that back the manager with funds for signings and the results don’t come then the blame lies fairly and squarely with the manager and players. What’s your point?

Lucky for us it’s football not boxing. RSF 32 minutes.

The club took out the loan surely?
Who signed the agreement?
Who used the money?
Who has overall control?
Who bears the responsibility?2 users thanked author for this post.
Who’s money are you wanting to use to pay off the loan?
Well perhaps the money of the person that took out the loan. I believe that’s normal practice, my money pays for my mortgage, I don’t expect anybody else to pay it for me.

‘Everything possible’ within given parameters is more likely, like the manager I suppose. Simon seems to be working on healing the rift between the Telegraph and the boardroom at the moment. Whilst it needs doing there are more pressing issues IMO, with little time remaining.

He was, at best, an average RB when he was here before. We have Millen, Green, Pugh, Rowe and Matheson who have all played RB this season, do we need a 6th RB more than somebody who knows where the net is? No answer necessary.

He said that last week though. Still another 10 days for players to find somewhere better before here is their only remaining option.

The loan is restrictive and that is the main problem. As I understand it:-
We can’t pay a fee
Squad size is limited
We can only offer 1 year deals (although we appear to have sneaked a couple in)
As we know we’re no longer paying big wages (rightly) and our league position is ‘precarious’ we have precious little to recommend us. However it is within the club’s power to improve the situation should they wish to.6 users thanked author for this post.
Salford would have easily beaten us on the wage! We just couldn’t compete with them.
Cannot imagine what his wages will be.
Dropping from the championship his wages would be way out of our present pay scale
Surely you don’t all think he’s gone there just for the money?
I really don’t want to put a downer on a young player trying to make a career in football but Pugh shouldn’t be walking into our team. Hill’s idea that the more you run the more chance you have of winning games has limited appeal for me. I’d far rather see some players who can use their brain, control the ball, pass accurately and shoot straight.

I think Hill has improved the team, sadly not enough to have improved the results.

Don’t worry, won’t be here long. First hint of criticism and he’s off.

Two things:-
The fact that we have a “loan” in itself means that it will have to be repaid sometime. Why not now? Is it being left outstanding to become a liability for any new owner?
Regarding Zanzala – would it have led to a different outcome had we been in a position to buy rather than loan? Maybe a 2 year contract would have had more appeal than a 6 month loan.2 users thanked author for this post.
It posed a question, another one you haven’t answered.
If a million pound player won’t improve our squad I have massively underestimated the ability of all of them. (Or have Wolves been conned?)
Not a system I’d normally suggest but maybe:-
Watson
Millen Onariase Taft O’Malley
Rowe Kenyon
Hippolyte Hackney Beestin
Bunnmight keep us in the game long enough to sneak something.

Paul Reid?
I saw the Hill interview in which he stated, due to his past experience it’s better/easier to pick up players right at the end of the window.
In other words you should expect to see players come in who are left, who basically nobody else wanted = The left overs. As you say WG there are huge problems with this approach. Apart from just having the dregs left there is a strong possibility that, during January, we will become less attractive week by week resulting in being significantly adrift by the end. We could also end up with players here for entirely the wrong reason from the Club’s viewpoint – “not bothered about playing for Scunny but it’s all I could get”. Dangerous but what else can Hill do without the chairmans help?

Whether people agree or disagree with UTI he has every right to offer his view without others slanging him off. Like UTI, I rarely post on here because of the abuse that comes whenever anyone holds a view that doesn’t meet with general approval. Is there any wonder, therefore, that UTI himself fights back.
No quarrel with anybody posting contrary views Bucks, as for the rest, to save you going back through this thread I reproduce below the start of UTI99’s initial contribution to a thread on which he has not previously been mentioned.
“You really are thick as….”
Fighting back or initial agression? Unnecessary either way.

Just had a look at completed transfers (BBC Sport) and if, as suspected, we can’t pay a fee for players the only two lost possibilities for our needs seem to be McPake (Tranmere) and Agard (Donny) and both look better bets than us. Loan signings seem to be kids which is probably not what Hill wants. No money and few prospects isn’t a very attractive proposition. Now if we were paying BIG money with the promise of ambition and a brand new stadium to play in then…………….
Careful – we tried that with a German that convinced the manager that he could play!!
Any names mick, just a rumour will do, nothing else to cling on to.

Yes I know I have but thanks for admitting it.

Now I know why I didn’t post for months, it makes your eyes bleed the shite on here.
No, you didn’t post for months because you were asked “awkward” questions which you were unable to answer without weakening your position.

Just seen this as well:-
“Controversial Oldham Athletic owner Abdallah Lemsagam has opened talks with interested parties to sell the struggling League Two club”
“Interested PARTIES” plural – so there are buyers out there for the right club.

Doesn’t want a relegation on his CV?
Will he be interested in another club?
Interesting indeed.Couldn’t care less. I’d watch SUFC in Northern Counties so it’s irrelevant.
Football does exist outside the Premier League and EFL.But at what level would you prefer to watch The Iron?
